Las Palapas

Can't go wrong with this local favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant!For many years this has been our family's go-to spot for breakfast tacos, Tacos Nortenos, chalupas, and the big winner, the "Super Bowl!" We also love their homemade chips and queso.Food is always freshly prepared, tortillas are excellent flavor and texture, and the drive through service is typically very friendly.They even give our dog a warm piece of bacon when she's along for the ride with us!When you're in the mood for good, simple Tex-Mex, this is a great place to stop.

Went with my wife and kid the other day on a monday morning we ordered 4 bacon and eggs and after waiting and hour we just ended up leaving server never checked on we saw people come after us and get food before us was very mad with them not to mention the time before that we came and my wifes pancake was raw I love LP but i will never go to this location ever again

Where do I begin... WOW! This place really make the franchise look horrible. I have been here many times hoping it will get better because it's close to my house. I can't stand having to return drinks, return food, and to have to pull out my phone every-time I wanna try to order my food because nobody understands English in this location that is surrounded by primarily Anglo clients. Smh. - one napkin between two of us, even after I pointed out that I need silverware. - manager greeted his friends and totally ignored everyone in the room. - tacos are getting smaller and smaller every visit. - bathrooms are dirty(Just to name a few things)This place is in serious need of a management change. And listen to the table behind us when it got busy and the manager decided to help take an order, the food came out wrong, and had to go back.

Ordered a carne guisada taco, 3 tiny pieces of meat and even then one of those was a chunk of fat. This location is very hit or miss but this was very disappointing.

The salad was delicious and fresh the waitress was nice and the restaurant was clean the restroom was clean just ad a good experience

So. We have a contender for the worst Mexican restaurant chain in San Antonio. Taco Cabana and Taco Palenque have real competition!Here's what I've learned about Las Palapas and the chain of restaurants. They are not created equal except for the menu. This is my third and final visit to this location. The service is awful and it trickles down from there. Here's another sign that this store is suffering some serious problems. It's always empty unlike the one on Blanco or 151. Which by the way are outstanding always. They took my order and then I didn't see another soul for thirty minutes. My food was mediocre at best and I couldn't but notice all the fun taking place in the kitchen. Oh well. Management needs to be in place. Mark this place off my list of go to.

5/9/22: Updating this review because I've really loved Las Palapas since I arrived to SA and I had to try a second time. My bowl is perfect again...fresh avocado and all. Friendly drive-thru service today as well.

Wow. Almost $6 for a beef taco norteno and it's the worst I've ever had. This location gives all the rest a bad rep. A tiny slice of avocado, maybe a quarter spoon of cheese, not much meat, and not to mention cold, cold, cold. The location on 281 & 1604 has huge tacos that are full of flavor. Definitely won't be going back here.

Today I went through the drive thru.Ordered the Palapas Special!!! OMG it was excellent!!! I never finish my food, but today I ate it all!!! It could not have been any better. The service was quick and the girl at drive thru knew what she was doing. I'm very happy and satisfied!! It was worth every penny!!! THANK YOU!!

Went through the drive-thru to get a breakfast taco and the eggs were extremely runny and cold. I'm not sure how they thought this was ok to serve as it was absolutely disgusting and I should've read previous reviews beforehand. And the nerve for them to spin the iPad around asking for a tip?! Wow.
