Las Palapas Hausman

First time trying las palapas and honestly...it could be better. We came in for lunch on a Wednesday and there was no wait. We were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. My friend ordered from their daily lunch special which was the chicken fajita plate. Everyday it changes so look it up if you're planning on dining in from mon-fri. I ordered their senior enchilada plate since I don't eat much. Food looked ok but the chicken fajita was way overcooked. The rice was not fresh and had also been overcooked. Beans were ok, enchilada gravy became too thick since it wasn't hot enough. The cheese inside was not melted enough. Everything was just not fresh and definitely cooked days prior. Nonetheless, it was edible but very forgettable. Definitely not impressed. The restaurant itself was clean but nothing else.

I live out of state, but return to San Antonio once a month, to check on elderly relatives. I always stop at this Palapas, the day before I go back home, to buy barbacoa to take to my son. The last night I was in town (10/12/2024), I ordered my usual: four pounds of barbacoa (and a bean & cheese taco for my cousin) After placing my order and paying for it, I was instructed to pull forward and wait. There were three other cars waiting also. I waited about 20 minutes, and then my order arrived. When I got back to my cousin's house, I unpacked everything. I immediately noticed the barbacoa had been packaged in different containers (small styrofoam cup containers, instead of the small aluminum trays it's usually in). Something told me to get a scale out and weigh it, which I did. Not one of the four containers weighed what it should have, they were all LESS THAN 16oz. I paid for four pounds of barbacoa, but I did not receive four pounds. (I have attached photos for you) Also, as I was paying the cashier, he told me I would be receiving a $10 discount, because of my Palapas Reward Points. (I recently became a loyalty club member) That $10 was not discounted from my total, as you can see on the attached photo of my receipt.I am now questioning every barbacoa purchase I've ever made at Palapas! How many other times have I paid for four pounds of barbacoa and not received it?! I buy barbacoa from you guys every month to take back with me. All this time I trusted that my order was being weighed before I received it. Last night 's purchase showed me it's not. Please talk to your staff and advise them to weigh the containers before giving them to customers. If a customer pays for something, they should receive it, ALL of it. I'm very disappointed and feel cheated. I paid for 4 pounds of barbacoa, and did not receive it. I am attaching my receipt for you.Thank you,R. Segovia-Thorn

Cant beat the breakfast taco combo & coffee specials! Over flowing with fluffy wellSeasoned scrambled eggs and large strip of thick cut bacon in a soft Flour tortilla , country sausage and egg was equally balanced and delicious in soft flour tortilla and coffee was freshly brewed and piping hot ! Drive through line moves very quickly

It's been a while since myreview of this place and, despite frequently forgetting the bacon in my bacon and egg taco or the rampant inconsistency of the brown hot sauce ( ranging from watery and hotter than the sun to thick and perfect), it generally serves good food that's well prepared, always hot ( who wants cold tacos?), fresh and tasty. So 4 stars! You redeemed yourself Las Palapas of Hausman!

I wish I would have taken a better photo of the food but I just went right in and started eating! Food was really good and I love how las Palapas does these weekly deals! This plate was $4.99 because of the weekly deal and it's a good amount of food! Chicken was flavorful, tortilla that came with the meal those were so soft! Beans and rice were really good as well. Also the service was great! Our server was so kind and even another employee came by to see how we were doing and he was so kind with the children! Loved the environment of this restaurant as well, probably because we came after the lunch rush but it was very relaxed inside I was able to enjoy my time here with my friends and the kids.

The food they brought out it was cold. I had breakfast. I told him to get back. I wouldn't mind hot. The service is wonderful. She's a good server, sweet and talks real nice to me. That was her. It's cold in here.

Well this location has a nice patio and the service is fair. The food is better here than Leon springs location... and the restaurant is bright which is nice they have a little bar with a good happy hour ... i would say visit this location if your looking for a nice breakfast or lunch ..the food is pretty good some items are very good like the flautas they are really good. The happy hour margarita is good and the nachos with fajita on happy hour is great. The breakfast plates are good also... we like to go sit on the patio on pretty days and have a margarita and a snack. We like this spot however sometimes the service is hit or miss... still we go Lol... try it out

Hadn't been in a while and won't go back. Food is a good value but when the waitress ignores and passes your table three times and then starts to wait on someone who came in 5 minutes later, thats a clue. When we asked for service she became rude, so we left.

The ambiance is laid back. They greet you at the door. My daughter normally orders bean and cheese tacos. She has no complaints and also likes the bacon and egg tacos. I have ordered the bacon and egg tacos. They never disappoint. This time around I ordered their beef quesadilla which is the first time ordering it from there. I am very please by it. It was flavorful, portion was a good size and it does come with sour cream, guacamole and lettuce but I dont like any of it so I couldn't tell if it leveled up the food. Lol Sorry I didn't take any pictures as I was hungry and it was good. The waitress was lack luster as she only came by 3 in total and had to wait for her to even get a to go box or even a refill which she didn't top off all the way to the top. Our other waitress we had previous visit was on top of things

Las Palapas on Hausman Rd is the perfect place for a quick on-the-go breakfast taco or some margaritas with friends!If you are from San Antonio, you've probably been to Las Palapas at least once during your life. They have multiple locations all over the city, and are a truly a San Antonio staple. This location on Hausman and 1604 is very different to the others since they have an outdoor patio, as well as a huge bar with 10+ draft beers. They also have a full liquor menu and drinks specials, which other Las Palapas do not have. Another great thing about them is their option to dine-in or just grab something quick through their drive-thru. For my latest visit I decided to go for their classic chicken tacos and guisada tacos. Both tacos were a packed and you could taste the freshness in their tortillas. My favorite is definitely the guisada, since it has that "homemade" taste, that just takes me back in time to my grandma's kitchen in Mexico. Definitely give this location a chance and check out their delicious food and very friendly service!
