The barbacoa here isn't too greasy like at most barbacoa places in San Antonio. But last time I came here, I asked the kid at the window for corn tortillas for my barbacoa tacos. I also ordered salsa and pico de gallo. I checked my order to make sure those were included. Unfortunately I had drove about half an hour from here to my house to find out that I was given flour tortillas! This is the first time I got my order wrong. Next time I come here, I'll do a more thorough check. On a side note, do not get the tamales from here. They're mediocre at best. Just a slight step above Del Rio and Delicious and that's not saying much.

After hearing about this place from a few people, I finally tried it out on a Saturday morning. There was no line waiting to be served but people showed up as I was leaving. I understand that it's quite busy on Sunday mornings. The service at the window was friendly and fast. I bought some barbacoa and tamales. The barbacoa was good but like most of the barbacoa I found lately, it doesn't quite hit the mark. Most of the barbacoa on the west side of town has an authentic flavor that's becoming increasingly hard to find. Don't get me wrong, this barbacoa is good and tasty, very "clean" and makes a great taco, but it just doesn't have the taste I look for. The tamales... it's getting harder to find good FULL tamales anymore. I tried them here and was disappointed. I would say that if it's not too far of a drive for you, try this place out and see what you think. It's definitely not bad, but it's not that authentic taste that I like.?

I have eaten barbacoa at this location several times and I have never been disappointed. Please don't let the modest looks of the building fool you. This is top notch barbacoa that is home made by some wonderful people. I amalways a firm supporter of local and family businesses. This place is a gem known to locals. Please support this locally owned business.

Their Barbacoa is by no means the best in the world. It is very greasy. If you like greasy; it's for you. Otherwise skip it.

The Large menudo was all grease and not one drop of juice. I couldn't eat it. It's weird how there are no pictures of his menudo anywhere online and now I can see why. I tried to eat it and just couldn't because it needed a ton of salt and it was all Manteca. Very strange way to make menudo. barbacoa was on the salty side and greasy and has been like that for years. I still go there because the barbacoa is good.

Turned me on to liking barbacoa and they have the most authentic tamales, Although it's very tiny. I do wish they improve the size of the tamales.

Don't be frightened judging the exterior of the building. Inside the kitchen is clean and the staff friendly. Walk on up to the side windows and place your order with confidence. Larry's claims to be the worlds best Barbacoa and it is probably not too far off. Very clean meat and so delicious. Cash only so come prepared or hit the atm at the gas station across the street. All the sides you may need and Big Red available too. In addition they have tamales that are tasty but are on the small side.
