I saw this spot on ElderEats IG. Looked yummy and it was up the street! I went on a Wednesday at 2:30p. I learned they closed at 3p but enough time for us to eat. The food was ! The chicharron and guacamole cup was sooooo goood! Came with plenty, definitely enough to share. The machete was good too! I didn't get a chance to try the pizza/Italian food. I didn't see anyone getting it either. But ElderEats made it look good!Be aware they automatically put tip on your bill. I found out after the fact.....

Very popular & busy.We went on a Sunday and you could tell they were overwhelmed. There was no place for people to wait for a table. We were waiting outside the front door but we were pretty much in the drive through line. We got the chicharron and birria tacos. Not my favorite. Tacos didn't have a lot of flavor and the consume that came with it wasn't any better. Between the trip there & the wait, it wasn't worth it.

The friendly greeting and service is the first thing that struck me when I stopped into this Southside restaurant.I ordered the Chicharron (Norteno) with guacamole. It comes in a plastic cup and the cup contains way more chicharrones than it looks like it does. For the most part, the meat was a bit on the fatty side, but they were very fresh... and the guacamole was very good! The price point was about $12 (+tax), which at first I didn't think it was worth, but after discovering much more meat than I expected, it was a fair price.I would absolutely stop in again if I find myself in the area again.

This place is popular and busy! The wait staff are zooming around busily and although they are friendly, the place is understaffed so we only saw our waitress when she took our order, didn't check on us to refill drinks etc. I brought my mom specifically for the chicharrón because we had seen it on social media and wanted the meaty whole wands of chicharrón and we were disappointed because they served us a cup full of crumbs with the excuse that they had run out. The machete was delicious and worth the trip but can't believe they served such a poor quality product. I wasn't going to fuss, settling for less than we expected, but just prior to leaving we saw that fresh chicharrones were being served. The manager agreed to make it right and offered a fresh item at no charge but we chose to have it removed from our bill instead. Word to the wise: don't accept crumbs... better is bound to come along if you wait.

We almost did not come here solely because of the mixed reviews but so glad we did!! Party of 4 so we orders and shared 2 chicharron w/ guac cups, birria machete and chilaquiles. Birria was most excellent!! Consumme, cilantro and lemon added was bussin'. There were different options for chilaquiles and I honestly don't remember what ours was called but it was a red sauce, flavorful beans, potatoes and two eggs on top. Delish! Then our cups came later and were worth the wait. People were kind. Spanish is their first language so be patient. It's not fast food so don't expect things to come quickly out of the kitchen. We will be back. Churro pancakes looked amazing.

Food is always great here, but for this review, I have yet to receive my order which made me want to make this review. As you can see on my receipt, I placed my drive thru order at 9:55 am with only one car in front of me. It is now 10:11 as I'm typing this. You can check the time on my screen next to the receipt. Over 15 min for three tacos and a $3 tea!!!

I ordered the mini tacos of asada and barbacoa. The asada was very dry and the barnacoa was just okay. The corn tortillas were good. My friend ordered from the Italian side of the restaurant and ordered a chicken with white sauce pasta dish. The sauce was very thin and watery. The chicken was ok with slices of cheese melted on top. The cheese was cold and looked solidified. Service was just ehh.. we were not given menus until I asked and it was already 7 minutes after we sat down. We were never asked if we needed any refills or if everything was okay. I ordered chicharon to go and it was sold by the pound. That is why we even visited this establishment. That was its only saving grace. The ambiance was simple, nothing fancy...no chips/salsa given or offered. I won't be taking the 30 minute drive to this restaurant again.

Let me tell you!!! The chicharone with guac cup is THE BEST! I don't care what anybody says. I am a chicharone/cracklin snob...I don't like everybody's chicharone/cracklins. I'm originally from Louisiana...and chicharones and cracklins are the same thing except for the spice that we cajuns love. The carnitas tacos were so good y'all! They were seasoned perfectly. When I tell you I DEVOURED them tacos. My daughter had the enchilladas...she finished the whole plate off. My hubby had the torta but he had already dug in by the time I could try to get a pic. He loved it! The service was excellent. We got a waitress that didn't speak English which didn't work well for our little Spanish. So she went to get a young man to help get our order...He even sold us on the Horchata which was also very good. Our waitress came back multiple times to make sure our food was good and we didn't need anything else. Check them out y'all!
