La Tortillita Mexican Restaurant

One of my fave Tex-mex spots and I've been visiting since around 2007! The best chicken flautas you could ask for and they're HUGE. They have great breakfast and lunch specials, too keeping their menu super affordable all these years. Cozy but clean, friendly staff, super speedy service. I'll call to order lunch to go every note and then and it's always ready within like ten minutes.

We went yesterday morning for breakfast and it was 50° outside. When we arrived inside the restaurant they had the AC going full blast the restaurant employees all had thick jackets on and some with hoodies and customers while wearing their jackets. It was so cold inside the restaurant. I literally wanted to get up and leave, but we drove so far to get there we just decided to stay. I asked them if they could turn off the AC and put on the heat and they said yes, but they never did. We ordered two bowls of Menudo, which only comes in one size. The bowl is about a very small medium size. It came with a lot of liquid, some hominy and a few pieces of meat, that was it. The bowl itself cost a little over $10 and it was not worth $10 so I had to speak up . The waitress returned with a third bowl with some meat in it to put into our bowls. When we were explaining to the waitress that the Menudo was lacking a lot of meat she was making faces which I thought was very unprofessional. Will not be returning .

This is one of those reviews you hate to write because the staff is so nice.Came at 625 for dinner and it took 32 mins to get our food and both were daily specials, so what gives?When food did finally arrive it was good but only luke warm.Hopefully next time it won't be so long or might the last time .

We placed an order for pickup. when I arrived the older lady who owns the place was on the phone. She said I believe this is your order. When I arrived home this was not our order. I was very upset she never bothered to check the order. I went back and express my frustration and a new order was placed. The owner never apologized or admitted she had made a mistake. Lately, when we eat there our orders are incorrect or wrong. The place use to be on top of it but now they take their customers for granted when such poor service.

This place is wonderful! Service is quick and the lunch specials are unrivaled. So much food for around $10!

We came here November 3 because we had a group. It was cool that that the restaurant is huge and they are able to accommodate big parties. We are not picky but seriously one of the most nastiest food I've ever tried. The chilaquiles had YELLOW cheese on it. It was all soggy and you had an aftertaste after. My friend soup her meat was so tough she couldn't finish it. Another friend had asked for tacos Del chicharrón no joke it's like they opened the heb bag and just pour in into a tortilla. Then I went to the bathroom and it was so dirty and unkept. Seriously first and last time here.

Huge breakfast tacos. Tasty too. This place is really nice and always busy. A good sign.

Service is top-notch & food is fantastic-generous portion at affordable price. I still want a seat at "the table ", so I hesitated to share this review, but I want this business to thrive.

Think this was my fifth time here so I feel more comfortable writing about my experience. I guess I imagined they made the flour tortillas in house but on a recent visit I felt like either day or so old tortillas or just store bought. It has been hit or miss and that is what helps me make a decision on places to eat. Has to be more hits than misses but so far I am leaning on a near impossible return. Granted the first two times I stuck with my corn tortillas because of carbs, my wife and friends had convinced me to try the flour...so I did. Definitely had me happy on the first taste. However last 2 visits just not worth the carbs. Not sure why the difference or maybe I try to compare to my grandma's flour tortillas where I saw her make them fresh upon request.I would say worth visiting as the food is good but not something you could not get elsewhere. So if you know a place that always delivers on flour tortillas, let me know.

The old lady waitress was a bit(h! I tried to be kind to her but she acted like I was bothering her when I asked for a price on some menudo. It's the second time I've been there and the service was terrible back then too. I'll never return and I'll spread the word.
