It's my 1st time here, and off the bat, I'm giving them a 3 star because of their false price advertisement. The menu shows $9.99 for each plate that I ordered, but when it came time to pay, I was overcharged by $12, not including tip. Tienen que ser honestos con sus clientes! Other than that disappointment, the food is authentic Mexican food. I ordered the tacos tlaquepaques with the sauce on the side, in case it was too hot. It was absolutely delicious! The service was fast. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable. I'll be back again, but next time, I won't overpay. Come check them out for yourself!!

Heyyyyyy you guyssssss! This spot is a hole in the wall which is typically a gem! There are two locations this particular location has no bar, the service was not great, the decor is giving ugh, the menus felt filthy. Ok so we still sucked it up and ordered and everything came out looking great but flavor was lacking. Prices were super reasonable but definitely not a win for my group, not fresh, tortilla chips were over done, the sandwich had this fluffy bread with an odd texture. The meat was flavorless, not a win in my book.

Referred by a friend. I may not have that friend as a friend any more. Completely let down. Got the mini tacos. Asada. 3 orders. Each order varied in actual meat. The other two had more but one clear had a lot. The meat was dry. The mini corn tortillas were like they were taken just from the bag to the plate. Not warm at all and stiff. Had hi hopes cause I live close but it was a miss. Maybe mini tacos isn't their thing. I don't know. Their beans are good. I'll end on a positive. Go get the beans.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now. It's a great place to get some good food and catch up with friends. It's definitely a hole in the wall place with awesome tacos and tortas. Some of the best trumpo in town. The fries also have a delicious seasoning. It's a great spot to come back to.

I called in an order for takeout at La Taqueria de Monterrey. Asada street tacos with avocado. The woman over the phone stated that they would be ready in 15 minutes. No problem.I arrived at the restaurant. It doesn't look like much from the outside. To be honest, it doesn't look like much from the inside either. No matter. The restaurant was bustling with what seemed like regulars. I had high hopes.When I reached the counter for my takeout order, I was charged $14. My jaw dropped. At least internally. I almost never complain about price because I believe it's up to the restaurant to determine their cost of goods and then up to the patron to decide if the price is worth it for them to dine there. But $14 for 4 street tacos with avocado? That's insanity and one of the highest I've seen in San Antonio. Once I got back to my vehicle and tasted the tacos, they were okay. Just okay. I liked that they added radishes which gave it a nice, crunchy texture. But the tacos were kind of cold, despite me getting there a few minutes prior to the quoted 15 minute time period. Let me start by saying I am very picky about my Mexican food and what I eat. This place was so delicious, I had the enchiladas verdes and my husband had the menudo. The tortas were also amazing and humongous as well as the mocajete was delicious! I would definitely be coming again!

First and foremost - the women working here tonight were amazing. My Spanish is awful. None of them spoke English. We figured it out. If you want great service you should stop and say hi. That was the only thing that I really was impressed with. I wanted simple food. So I didn't order anything that has the wonderful reviews on Yelp. I should have stuck with what y'all told me to order. I ordered three single tacos in three different meats. All three were cooked well but had no flavor. If the cut wasn't different I wouldn't have known there were 3 different meats. People have raved about the salsa. What I got was two squeeze bottles that were manufacture labeled. Neither of the two were ones I was particularly fond of. And I love salsa if it weren't for the pictures on here of the inside of the building, I would think that we'd all eaten at a different restaurant than what I read about.
