Do NOT go here!!! They're completely rude! Their website doesn't indicate that you need reservations and after we were seating Roslyn who was rude AF told me the following: -when I asked who calls a restaurant before they go all the time when I asked why it wasn't posted on the website that you need reservations and her response was "someone that wants to get seated" Who the hell says that to their customers!!! A man told us there were 2 free tables and she said "I work her, he doesn't" She also said, "I'm NOT serving you" as my kids sat there and said they wanted spaghetti" who the hell says that to a 4 year old!?!? Rude!!! Don't go!!!

Italian fare isn't easy to find in San Antonio; however, La Sorrentina is an exception. I found this place courtesy of a Google review and wanted to try it as I was craving pasta - as I always do! I arrived at a smaller, moderately busy restaurant with a dimly lit dining area and cloth covered tables. I was seated and after briefly looking over the menu, which had a decent number of classic options, I opted for a plate of Spaghetti Marinara. The server was pleasant, and Bread was brought out as well as a house salad, both of which were appetizing and paired well. When the spaghetti arrived, I was ready to enjoy it. The sauce was rich, and the pasta noodles were properly cooked - al dente! Overall, I enjoyed my meal and thought the service was acceptable! This place is kind of a hidden gem - so don't miss out!

Cute and small local gem. Definitely a good local Italian spot. Food was good, service was good, place was clean, can't really ask for more!

We got lucky as we showed up on a random Thursday and were immediately seated with no reservations. This place is small but charming. Feels like you're in someone's house as there is maybe like 4 or 5 tables total inside. I could see why you would need a reservation or order take out.Our server was pleasant and the prices were very reasonable, especially for their wine selection. We started with the fried ravioli since we had never tried before. It was crispy, hot and filled with ricotta. Delicious and very filling. It was hard to stop eating them to save room for the actual meal.I ordered the eggplant parmesan and my partner the chicken alfredo. They took approximately 20 minutes to come out and they were both served really hot and seemed made fresh and from scratch. The eggplant parm was good but not the best I've had. It could have used more seasoning. The chicken parm I tried tasted too watery and soupy for me and was also lacking seasoning. The tiramisu, however, was really good and a great way to end the meal.

First things first-make reservations for this place! The service, food and ambiance were lovely at La Sorrentina. The prices are also so reasonable that it easily beats any of the big name stores in price, and the food quality is so much better than any of the big corporate Italian places. I'd easily come here again. Edit: I forgot to mention the service! We were constantly attended to and everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly.

We didn't know you needed a reservation so we just walked in around 5:30pm luckily they had a seat for us. I would say the best seat in the house. Right in the front by the window looking out. It felt like a different space the vibes were right, the music was good. We ordered stuffed mushrooms as our appetizer. I had a delicious glass of wine and my husband had beer. Both our meals were delicious. I highly recommend this place. It did get busy as the night went by. Some people were turned away because they had no reservation. I suggest take your chances & go early or make a reservation.

If you happen to stumble upon this hole in wall, just know you've stuck gold. While tiny and tucked away, the food packs a punch. The pastas are rich, delicious and flavorful. I have not been disappointed yet. The servers are always willing to help with any questions and are very helpful!

My husband had had lunch in this tiny little restaurant with coworkers a few weeks back. So on our Friday night date night that's where we headed. We didn't have reservations ( they do recommend) but we happen to get there at just the right time when there were only two tables occupied. We were sat down rather quickly and put our order in. We ordered the garlic cheese bread for the appetizer and it was just enough for two people. I tried their chicken francese and my husband ordered the salmon Florentino. Both plates came wonderfully presented. I was pleased that there wasn't so much food as to take home although I know Italians love to feed people! My husband and I will definitely be back and we'll make sure that we have reservations; the restaurant got full rather quickly which isn't hard because I believe there are only about 10-12 tables total.

So so SO DELICIOUS!!! We came across this place on our last night in San Antonio and it was an absolutely perfect way to end our trip. Of course we were a little thrown off by the location but wow I'm so glad we still decided to give it a try. 100% recommend coming here! We'll be stopping by on our way out to try the sandwiches! Sorry we dug right in before taking pictures!!

Amazing food. Definitely recommend you make a reservation as it's a small place. You might or might not be able to get a seat without a reservation but the food is worth the wait. We found this place by accident when we moved to San Antonio and has been one of our favorite places since. Service has been great every time we have visited.
