La Gloria - San Antonio International Airport

The hostess was amazing and the staff was friendly. They recommended the ceviche and a few other items, but we weren't that hungry so this ceviche was enough and the frozen margarita flight was even better! Both came out very quickly, which was great regarding we had a flight to catch.

Hey Yelp Fam,This may be the shortest review I've written, but there isn't much to say. My sister wanted to grab some food since we had about three hours until our plane departed. With limited food options at the airport, we chose Mexican. There weren't many people dining at the time. I wish I had checked the Yelp reviews before agreeing (I always check Yelp reviews), but not this time.The hostess was okay; I felt more effort could have been made to greet us as we came in, but that's neither here nor there. I will say our server was great-- he was attentive, kind, and able to anticipate our needs. That was the best part of the experience.Now, onto the food. I ordered the enchilada verde, which I often get and expected to be similar at this location, but it wasn't. It came with a side of rice and black beans; the black beans looked so dry that I didn't even touch them. The rice was okay, but I didn't finish it. My sister ordered the steak tacos and said they were very salty, and the meat was dry.Would I eat here again? No. But, as I mentioned, the server was great, and I appreciated that."

We dined in for breakfast before our morning flight out of SAT. We were seated rather quickly. The chairs are very heavy and make noise when moving. I had the barbarboa taco. It came out hot and on a fresh tortilla. I added a star for the fresh tortilla. The barbarcoa was just okay. I'd say below average for taste compared to other breakfast taco places in San Antonio. I'm glad I finally tried it but won't be back.

One of the better places to get great and authentic food inside TSA at any airport. Beautiful Jasmine has serious server game. The only knock on this place is the incessant metal screeching of the heavy metal chair legs dragging across the hard floors. Clearly these welded iron chairs were custom made, aesthetically pleasing and southwestern in their flare, but they hate the floor, obvious by the frequency and volume of protesting disruptive noise they make. Has anyone thought to put transparent plastic-rubber boots on the chair legs? Have they not heard of Wayfair or Amazon in San Antonio? I suppose not.

Service was absent.The margarita tasted like it came from a powder.The beef quesadilla was greasy.Not a good experience.

My fiance and I went for a trip the other weekend. While we were waiting for our plane, we decided to try this restaurant.We were greeted very quickly when we got to the entrance. There was no wait to be seated.I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. Yes, I was that person who ordered a burger at a Mexican restaurant. Yes, I did get an eye roll from my fiance. It's also very likely that the server also rolled her eyes, but I did not notice. I also ordered a rum and coke. My fiance ordered two bean and cheese tacos with guacamole and sour cream on the side. The food came out quickly, which is plus at a restaurant in the airport. My fiance liked her tacos. She said they were big enough that she should have offered only one. I suggest that you don't be like me. If you go to a restaurant, you should order food that the restaurant specializes in. Don't order a burger from a Mexican Restaurant. I will follow this rule if I ever see a pizza on a Chinese Restaurant menu.The prices for the food were a bit higher, but they are to be expected. Restaurants in stadiums and airports seem to have at least one thing in common, and that is higher priced food throughout I recommend this place for a quick bite while you wait for the plane.

If you are a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, please eat something if you order one of their margaritas! I got the house one, frozen, while waiting for my flight, and it was delicious but strong. The al pastor tacos I got to go (the plane left at dinnertime) came with beans and were good. The wait for a seat was not long, and the staff were friendly.

Excellent service from Felicia! Thank you for my Virgin pina coladas! It really helped lift my moods after being forced to fly instead of spending Mother's Day with my kids.

So we were hangry and when we inquired about table we were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. We waited seemed like forever. When we were called we sat down and had the best waitress tend to us. I didn't get her name but she was really nice. My friend was practicing her Spanglish "I can't Spanglish." I order frijoles con aguacate and a Michelob ultra. My friend ordered pollo en escabeche and a prickly pear margarita (frozen). We order guac with totopos. Our drinks came out quick and my friend enjoyed the margarita. I tasted and I ain't gonna lie it was good. Our food came out pretty quick as well. The chips were a bit salt but still good. The chips were nice and hot, too. The tostadas were good. (I enjoyed my salad.) There was a lot of lettuce on it and had to eat it down before I could pick it up. My friend had the same issue. She said the chicken was okay. She mentioned the sauce could have been better.Overall, it was okay. Next time we will look else where. We didn't hate it but we were expecting more. Judge for yourself.

The food and service are great. However, the chairs...OMG!!! Please do something about the screeching! It is so painful! Even the staff tells us how bad it is when we say something! It's a terrible first impression to your overall experience!
