Ok so I have past this place many times. Finally stopped in today. Took me a bit to try find what I wanted because at first I thought damn this place is kinda expensive. 17.99 a pound for Barbacoa. I almost left thinking eh I ll pass. But I sucked it up. Dug deep in those pockets and ordered. 2 lbs with tortillas. Came with plenty of salsa and pico. 45 or so was the cost. OUCH said my wallet but I pushed forward. Moments later arriving at work the unboxing if you will started. My fork diving in to the mound of barbacoa before me. I took a big bite. Gosh oh mighty. It was good. I went for another grab of this golden meat. Same as before. Amazing. No fat to be found whatsoever. Very very good and worth the price. I actually asked others if the price is fair and apparently for the quality it is so there is that. Thanks y'all.

Holy yum, y'all. Before I moved out of the apartments down the street from this place, I had planned on trying this spot. That never happened. This morning I wanted some barbacoa, and remembered this location existed, so I made the 5 minute drive. The restaurant was empty as it was a mid-late morning trek, and the menu was small but tasty. The interior has lovely paintings and they proudly display their 3rd place TacoFest trophy on the table. I wanted some menudo but they were sold out (my curse strikes again!). Instead I ordered 4 barbacoa tacos, expecting those tiny 4-inch tacos you build when you order 1/2 or 1 lb of barbacoa. So I was naturally skeptical when I shelled out $11 and change for 4 tacos. Seemed a bit steep. When I got home I realized I purchased 4 burrito sized tacos overstuffed with barbacoa. Let's just say I'll be eating barbacoa tacos all day long today! LOLThe flavor is excellent and I definitely recommend trying them first before adding any salt or salsas. The batch was already well-salted. I'm interested in coming back with my parents as they live for barbacoa on Sunday mornings. As I mentioned, I docked a star for the menudo. I guess the lesson here is to come early, though. The staff here is super nice and cheerful.

Highly disappointed in the food and customer service. We had heard so many good reviews on this place and always get there when they're sold out of the regular Barbacoa. Today we finally made it in and no one greets you when you walk in, the floors were super greasy and slippery. We asked if they sold Avacado and the lady behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy. Got home and opened my menudo only to find they basically sold me hominy with a splash of meat and juice. There is no other way to explain it but just plain gross, the barbacoa was okay but not great. We will not be returning and basically wasted $30.

I was really disappointed on how a restaurant that was once a family favorite is now on our list of places not to return to. This Sunday 8/9/20 at 10:30ish we picked up our barbacoa special and got home to find we were given chunks of slimy lard. There was no shredded barbacoa that we are use to getting. There was so much liquid grease floating in the styrofoam cup. I have ordered here several times and have never received this. What meat I could get by separating the lard and squeezing in a paper towel we were able to get about 4 skinny tacos out of a pound of meat. We will sadly never return after spending 23.00 for a pound of slimy lard. I didn't wast my time driving back or calling to complain because what's the point, they knowingly served your customer crap, you obviously don't care. Also there was not a large crowd so there wasn't a rush. I should have taken a photo!

Came in for some Sunday barbacoa. The people working were warm and welcoming and the barbacoa was tender flavorful and delicious. I tried a sample of their spicy barbacoa and was hooked! As a first time anywhere you never know what to expect but I am glad I came in. Much better and leaner than a lot of my regular places. Now going to be my go to barbacoa place!

This place was so satisfyingly good, I was greatly impressed. Their "all meat" barbacoa was actually ALL MEAT with such a great taste, you can taste the love put into it. The tamales were yummy, definitely went down so smoothly and satisfyingly, that a whole dozen just isn't enough for more than one person .. it only got better and better. Thanks Casa de "MI" Barbacoa

Pros: this review is only for their spicy barbacoa. It was amazing. Now the cons to this place: price 13 per pound of Barbacoa, 12 for a dozen of tamales, and package flour tortillas. Average price is 8 for meat and tamales. If they don't change price and tortillas this place im afraid they will be out of business
