Karinderya is a new track here in Shaenfield. It's a startup family owned business - at first they have weird hours but finally they found their groove and now have standard time. Going back and forth here for awhile now, the people do helps you to understand what's on the menu as they are serving some of the food in the Philippines that not served to any Filipino Restaurant here in San Antonio. The place is well lit up so you can eat on their mini setup or just do takeout. The food we ordered was always hitting few spots of how I remember it in the Philippines. I love how the portion always equal your penny. Overall, it is a food truck that I would stop by to get a good and fresh meal.

Been putting off this review trying to find a saving point in order for me to give this place a higher star rating and objectively, but finally decided to go on and post my review. Weeks prior to their opening, we had their Instagram account as the sole source of information. Back then there was no indication, not a single hint that it's a food truck. I was very excited to bring along my cousins and my aunt was looking forward to it as well. We went there the morning they initially started going in business. We were disappointed that it was just a food truck but still went to give it a try since we were hungry and ready for the breakfast silog choices. Our disappointment became a frustration since we were told by the young lady that they are not ready yet, there's still no cooked rice to think we arrive past 10:30, they posted they are open by 10:00am. For an Asian food service business, not having cooked rice ready is a mortal sin! On top of that I never heard a single apology or simple "sorry" from the young lady. She wasn't mean but she never said sorry. We left frustrated and hangry. The following week we let it pass trying to look forward to a better service on our next visit. The morning of the weekend after that, me and my cousin finally gave it a try and see how good their food and service are. My cousin ordered tapsilog and it's bangsilog for me. The lady (maybe she's the owner) who took our order was very warm and pleasant and they have cooked rice ready this time. She must be the mother of the young lady we encountered during the opening weekend and I also saw that young lady inside the truck but she didn't look as warm and welcoming like her mom.Anyway, my cousin's tapsilog is okay, although the slices of tocino have more fats than actual meat but (I hope we are correct) it's nice that it seems like their tocino it homemade and not just bought frozen from the grocery. I love my bangsilog, it tasted good but not sure if they marinated the milkfish themselves from scratch (I'm hoping they do). Overall it's not bad and price is really affordable. It's great to know that during weekends, we have a go-to place for Filipino breakfast and not wait as late as 11am. I'm planning to give it another try and excited to try their fish embutido, no meat Laing and also their fresh lumpia also with no meat. I really hope they do good business wise and improve the customer service of their younger staff so that they could finally (I hope) put up a real restaurant and not just a food truck. So glad that more Filipino food service businesses are coming-up so that more Filipinos and non-Filipinos have plenty of dining options. Looking forward to give this place a higher star rating in the future.Didn't get the chance to take pictures of our meal since we were really hungry, starving actually after a long walk at the nearby park.

I truly believe this needs a large restaurant space and all of the publicity that places like Sari Sari get, especially nowadays. Karinderya is, menu-wise, my favorite Filipino food in town so far. The authenticity and pride in the Filipino karinderya style makes me so happy, and they offer some of my favorites - laing, lumpiang sariwa, fried bangus oh my!When I've also ordered via delivery app from here, the portion sizes are always generous and well-packed, as well as timely. I want to throw the full weight of my support behind this place. It just feels more Filipino - unpretentious, authentic, and delicious.

We were so excited to try this new food truck out! We tried their pancit, lechon kawali, lumpia and fresh lumpia. They also had pandesal and it was by far, the softest and lightest I've had! The pancit had a different flavor but it was still great. Everything else was exactly what we were craving for! The people were so sweet and accommodating. We can't wait to get more food!

Halo Halo dessert was delicious. I also had lumpias which did not have much filling inside so just tasted the fried lumpia skin.
