LOCATION:Pretty decent location off of 410 and Vance Jackson on the North side of SA. Bit of a deteriorating parking lot, but there's enough space. The interior isn't going to blow you away, but it's pretty homey nonetheless. Some interesting design choices, like TVs that only work half the time and purple LEDs in the ceiling, but you can overlook it. Maybe even adds some character to the place.FOOD:Typically go here with my coworkers for lunches, and we get a few different things around the menu. I like the Nicole Roll and the Pink Lady Roll for lunch. You can get half rolls which makes it nice to try to the main specialty rolls. They have always been good, and seems as fresh as you can get being in SA and not in a coastal town. The fried rolls are very nicely done, just the perfect amount of crunch. Some other items include the beef bulgogi (not bad, but not as good as a traditional Korean restaurant), Yakisoba noodles ( a good choice with eel sauce on top), and many other Chinese and Japanese dishes.To me, sushi is their best entree, but the gyoza and egg rolls are definitely above average apps as well.DRINKS:Standard drinks, but they do offer some beer, wine, and sake which never leaves me disappointed.OVERALL:It's a great place for food. The menu is large, so even if you don't like sushi, you'll find something you like. Although, there are winners and losers when it comes to entrees, the main attraction of sushi is awesome. Definitely recommend this place.

Food was amazing. The price is slightly higher then expected till you see you rolls. The rolls are bigger then other sushi restaurants. The flavor top notch. My son got the Orange chicken and the pieces were huge. It was my wife's birthday and she had a glass of the Sangria it was tasty. Our server took great care of us. The place was cozy. I can't wait to come back and try more sushi and maybe some ramen. This was a great birthday spot I can't wait to try more of the delicious food.

Second time then mess up "to go" orders. The restaurant is great when you're dining there, but if you order to go or via Uber eats just know that the quality of food will not be the same. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll with mango, and there was only shrimp on the ends. There was absolutely no shrimp throughout the center of the role. It was simply rice, avocado, and cream cheese. We enjoyed my mother-in-law's birthday lunch here. I got the squid salad & I forgot the name of my roll but it was fried with crab on top it was delicious & filling & I had 3 glasses of green tea, it was great! My husband got a strawberry banana boba tea & it was so good, we got another one but added mango flavor.. everything was great, the waiter was super sweet! We will definitely be back! I met a friend for a small business lunch and she recommended Kai Sushi, she eats here fairly often. The first thing I noticed was that the tile entryway was filthy. I don't know if it always looks that way or if something happened earlier that day and that made it filthy. We sat at a booth and the upholstery was very worn, I think that may be why the lighting is so dim, you know to hide the worn furnishings. I had the lemon chicken and I have to say that it was pretty bland. Now I know that lemon chicken can be bland but the lemon sauce was equally bland. The fried rice was delicious, and the egg roll was pretty tasty. We were there at noon and only 3 or 4 tables were occupied. I'm guessing that says something. Our server was very polite, in fact everyone I met was polite. I always like to preface a poor review with "everyone has an off day and this may have been theirs" but I don't see myself returning here.

Kai Sushi is a fantastic spot for sushi lovers, whether you're on a first date or just looking for a delicious meal. I love taking my niece here every time we have a weekend together - our favorite roll is the Valentine Roll, which we enjoyed during our last visit.The sushi at Kai Sushi is always fresh and delicious, and the service is prompt and friendly. It's a great place to go if you're in the mood for some amazing sushi, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
