One of my favorite Italian Mamma and papá places to go. I love the lasagna with its lush layers of cheeses, the red sauce that has just enough garlic and seasoning, the warm, pillowy bread with butter and the friendly service. You can order wine or beer and they offer craft sodas, the Cream soda is the best!Tea and soda are self serve now. The best part though is the Hannah Huey dessert. This is the only place I know to get this and I have had this at their previous restaurant so it still tastes great and will send you into dessert heaven. It's very rich and served warm, enough to share if you choose to do so but I get one for myself. If you order it to go, it isn't cooked but comes with instructions to warm at home. I have patronized this establishment for about 12 years now at the Embassy Oaks location, it's my go to place. Forgot the food pi s but the important part....dessert is featured here. BUEN PROVECCHO

Stepping into this spot feels like a time warp straight to the '50s, complete with nostalgic portraits on the walls--a nice touch for a local joint. The vibe? Super friendly, full of regulars, and they know their way around the place better than I know my own pantry. Now, full disclosure: I came in starving--out-of-my-mind, see-stars hungry. At that point, even cardboard with ketchup might've tasted gourmet. So I had to judge carefully and make it past the "hanger haze" before forming opinions.Ordered a Caesar salad, which arrived in record time--less than 30 seconds. Impressive? Sure, but that's about where the excitement ends. Not bad, but let's be real: no one's going to win a Michelin star for lettuce. Salad is salad, and honestly, you can't expect them to nail both pizza and rabbit food. Pick a lane, right? The oldies playing in the background scored points--especially when "Just the Way You Are" came on. Big mood while I waited for my Italian sub. Seven minutes later, it arrived: nice toasted bread, decent flavor... but, um, where's the meat? I'm talking bread, cheese, veggies... and then BAM, surprise pickle overload. For the anti-pickle people out there, this sandwich is your villain origin story. It's basically a pickle in a carb trench coat. Now, about the meat. It was thinly sliced--so thin, you'd think they were rationing it for a war. An Italian sub should be bold, generous, luxurious. This was more like a bread sandwich with a side of existential crisis. And as for the leftovers? Hard pass. They looked so sad, they reminded me of that one questionable decision you regret as soon as the lights come on--like the stripper you should've left at Sugars and treated to Arby's out of pity. The kicker? Apparently, pizza is their claim to fame, and I missed it. So maybe that's where the magic is. But if you're here for an Italian sub, save yourself the effort and swipe left. This sub is the culinary equivalent of texting your ex: it might seem like a good idea at the time, but you'll regret it later.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Italian food. Kids menus are available. On not-so-busy days you enter, order at the counter, and select a seat. On busier nights there's a host at the door that will assign you a seat. Wine and drafts are available.

This is a little gem which has a decent amount of options. You can find something for everyone. The pizzas are real good and I enjoyed my Chicken Parm as well. The only drawback was that the marinara sauce was a little bland. Here you order and purchase your meals at the front and they bring it out to your table. You can save a little time if you check out the menu ahead of time. All the employees were very friendly. This is a good spot to stop by before heading to the movies at Santikos embassy around the corner.

I've had lunch here 3 times. All three times by invitation. Not my choice. Pizza is below average, low quality, almost frozen pizza quality. The ravioli were covered in a sour marinara sauce and they were doughy undercooked underwhelming concoction. The only redeeming item was the Caesar salad that was average at best as it was topped with an out of the bottle dressing. San Antonio is sorely lacking in quality Italian restaurants. Julian's is a below average pizza joint with ample portions of very mediocre food.

It has been a while since we have been to Julian's. And they have redecorated and it looks nice! We had quick and polite service, always a good thing. And we just barely beat the late dinner rush. My Sicilian salad was delicious, and I added a great grilled chicken breast. Great if you are going gluten free. I was also impressed with their gluten sensitive options, especially for an Italian restaurant. The kids pizza was huge! And it was devoured along with the spaghetti and meatball by my kids. Always a great family restaurant to have dinner or a date at the bar.

Ordered a small pizza online and given a ppick-up time in 30 minutes. Arrived in 25 minutes and it was not ready. Place was busy so waited another 15 minutes - not ready will be another 5 to 10 minutes. Waited another 15 minutes not ready and was told another 5 to 10 minutes. At that point I asked for and received a refund and left. Very disappointing.

Gave us wrong order for takeout and the food was subpar and tasteless when compared with the nearby Italian joints. I have no idea how other people rate them but the number was way too high.
