Brand new location, attended soft opening this past weekend. The place looks phenomenal. Classy with some amazing art work on the brick wall. Small enough to be cozy but large enough to get noise.Plenty of staff working together to keep the tables cleared, drinks filled and add on items ordered or drinks. Crafted cocktails were so good! Food... first time Ramen eater, top Ramen no longer counts after trying this. List of add ins was extensive, appetizers & small plates for both ocean & land eaters. We tried the edamame, spicy tuna mini tacos & Jinya Bim, spicy chicken, wonton chicken, crunchy shrimp dish, kids meal (was huge) and another Ramen that I forgot. Everyone was happy, full and left with a doggie bowl of Ramen. The cost for 4 adults and 2 kids was absolutely reasonable and I was so blown away. Can't wait to go again, without the kiddos and try more cocktails and table full of me to me items. Great job!

I stepped in to pay and pick up my order, form what I remember, the interior was very nice. This location reminded me of the nice restaurants you can find in downtown Dallas. The people working at the front and the bar were very nice and helpful too.Although the service and the scenery were nice, I did not enjoy my food very much. I loved the flavor of the broth, it was full and not lacking in any seasoning; however, it was teetering the line of being salty. The noodles were nice and firm, not overcooked at all; and I think the marinated eggs were my favorite!! I loved the buttered corn too, but the bamboo shoot had kind of a funky taste. I've had bamboo shoot before, but they never tasted like the one I had from Jinya. My least favorite parts of the meal were the chasu and green onions. The chasu was very salty, and I just thought there was too much green onion. I usually love green onions, but this one was just too much for me. In all, I did not hate the meal, but it got way too salty as I continued to eat it. Although I added a lot of extra toppings, the meal was quite pricey for its quality and quantity of the toppings. Maybe it was an off-day, but I am not sure if I would come back. I was left feeling a little disappointed.

We went here for a late lunch around 2pm and were able to walk in with no wait. The interior is beautiful and well designed with nice art. Customer service was wonderful and went over everything with us and we needed for nothing. We order the Malibu Sunrise and Smokey Wokashi OF, they were both well made drinks and the presentation on the Smokey was perfect! The pricing of the drinks were a little high in my opinion, both coming in at $16 a piece. We got the Tonkotsu Red and Spicy Miso ramen, they were both very good. I personally liked my Spicy Miso the best, the ground pork was seasoned so well and the thick noodles were perfectly cooked and bouncy! Also if you want to add onto the ramen everything is an up charge, so be mindful of that and how that can increase quickly. Overall I would come back here for some ramen, I know next time I would like to try the Shrimp Wonton Ramen as well

We drove from Cibolo in search of good ramen. The pictures of this place sold us. Upon entry the vibe was amazing, soft R and B playing, lights dimmed low. It was definitely a vibe at 1:30 in the afternoon lol. The menu is MASSIVE. My wife started with the Smokey Wakashi and I had a Malibu sunrise! The spice notes are the Malibu sunrise are right up my alley. I can't be the only one that likes spicy tequila. I got the tonkatsu red ramen spice level 5 and it was...... SPICY. noodles are cooked to perfection. I would definitely come back and try another ramen. Service was great as well. She was very attentive and knew the menu well.

This ramen place is great! It is a great place to have a meal with friends during happy hour or Sunday brunch. They have a full bar and they offer fun cocktails. The ramen is delicious! The broth is rich in flavor and there are toppings galore in the ramen from a piece of seaweed, boiled egg, green onions, etc. They offer gluten free options so there's something for everyone. I will definitely be back again to try other dishes.

Birthday Ramen: Meh Food, Fantastic Service.I decided to celebrate my birthday with some ramen, hoping for a flavorful, comforting bowl of noodles and as this was my first time at Jinya, I wanted the full experience since the Instagram reels I'd seen highlighted some of their popular dishes. My fiancé loves spice and chose the Spicy Chicken Ramen (loved it), while I went with the Wonton Chicken Ramen. Unfortunately, the ramen itself didn't quite hit the mark--it was just meh. The broth lacked depth, and overall, it didn't have that wow factor I was expecting for a special occasion. (just okay). While I understand inflation, I've lost some love for the ramen experience when restaurants charge $3.13 per option to add toppings like corn, green onions, crunchy onions, cabbage, seasoned eggs, spinach, etc. If I had added everything I actually wanted in my birthday ramen, the bowl would have been nearly $40.Our waitress recommended some appetizers, and we decided on a small plate of Pork Gyoza (meh), Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura (delicious), the Curry Rice Croquettes (5 stars), the Crispy Chicken (just okay), and the side salads (the dressing was a tad off). I also tried the Cucumber Chiller, Jinya's signature cocktail, but ended up adding Strawberry Mio to enhance the flavor since it mostly tasted like cucumber water. All in all, I would have tried making this at home for a 1/3 of the cost. However, what truly turned things around was our amazing waitress. From the moment we sat down, she brought such a warm, upbeat energy to the table. Her positive attitude and friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and lifted the entire experience. She went out of her way to ensure we were taken care of, checking in regularly, and even wished me a heartfelt happy birthday, which brightened my day.Even though the food didn't stand out, the excellent service left a lasting impression. I left feeling that while the ramen was forgettable, the kindness and attentiveness of our waitress made the visit worthwhile. If you're looking for top-notch service with a smile, this place delivers--I am not sure if the ramen will blow you away. I know I will try again, but there is a lot of competition in San Antonio, so it may be a while. Ms. Islandgal29412

We went to our first Jinya when we lived in MD and loved it so we were so glad when there was a location in San Antonio! We ordered delivery from here so cannot comment much on the ambiance or interior of the restaurant. It only took about an hour from when we ordered for the food to get here so service was super quick! The food was absolutely amazing even when it's not piping hot. The takoyaki tasted almost as good as the ones we got off the streets of Kyoto, Japan. The ramen was a perfect comfort food for a cold day. You can custom the spiciness of the Tonkatsu Red. I got level 3. It had a kick, can't wait to go up another level next time. Will def be ordering from here again.

I'd like to preface this by stating that we did arrive about 35-40 mins before closing! Though multiple people came after us.The point being that you don't always get the best quality of food or service at the end of the day, so that's on us. The place is very open and spacious. Lots of big tables for large groups. Feels casual but intimate. Pretty busy for a Wednesday! That pretty much sums up the visit, got a little attitude from the hostess for asking to be reseated. The food was pretty subpar. I've definitely had better ramen for the same price or less. The broth in my Black Tonkotsu tasted store bought, not fresh. Maybe just been sitting all day? My biggest issue had to be the a la cart additions to the ramen? Apparently my ramen didn't already come with corn? Which is an absolute first for me. I had to order it additionally! $2! There was a lot more ingredients that applied to as well! For my friend's ramen, she had to add seaweed!Bottom line, looks like a fun hang out spot with a full bar (from the looks of it). Not blown away with my food.
