Jimador Mexican Restaurant and Bar

Classic Jalisco style Mexican food. They have a very wide range of menu options with over 50 plates so everything you can imagine. Enchiladas, gorditas, caldos.... So much to choose from. One of the things that we really love is the drive-thru if we're just in a hurry and passing through the area. This is 10 times better than any fast food you can get in the so sometimes that works for us.We really liked the design of the building which has that classic Mediterranean / Mexican feel. The interior also adds to the ambience and we've always found the service up to par!

Delicious menudo!! And homemade corn tortillas!! Highly recommend if you love menudo!!

During a busy day at work and with only a few minutes for lunch I stumbled into this place. It is literally so close to my job that I can walk. I was a bit nervous about having to wait to be sat so I decided to sit at the bar. There was no bartender, but this one server saw me and came to greet me right away. A few minutes later she came back with my order. Astonished by how quickly she managed to get everything taken care of, I was able to actually enjoy and not scarf down my food! Definitely on my radar for when I forget to pack my lunch lol

Great clean atmosphere. The caldo de camarón was not on the menu, but I asked the waitress as a friend of mine recommended it.

Not bad. The meats lacked flavor tho, wouldn't hurt to use seasonings once in a while. Tortilla orders were composed of only two tortillas, and honestly that's insulting. What Mexican only uses two tortillas for an entire meal? We had to keep ordering tortillas just so everyone in our group could get one to start out with. Took forever to get the last parillada, so that was annoying to wait for. We were a hungry group.Not a bad experience but I wouldn't come back.

**BEWARE OF OVERCHARGING** so, first time visiting this restaurant. El Jimador on Vance Jackson and i10. Our waitress was wonderful, the food was pretty good. I was telling my friends that this might be a new go to spot- up until I went to pay. When ordering I asked for a frozen Top Shelf margarita. Waitress takes my order and leaves- a woman (I think manager) then comes over and explains they don't have frozen top shelf. I say, "that's okay, just give me your regular frozen margarita and add a shot of patron on top". As this is what most restaurants I have been to previously do for their "top shelf" She says okay that works. I get my margarita...it was pretty good. Not strong by any means. Fast forward going to pay- I get charged $21.98. I go to the counter and the woman who originally explained the issue of not having frozen top shelf's is working the register. I ask why I am charged this much? She says they decided to make me a fresh frozen top shelf. Which is $13.99. (Expected price) And the proceeded to still add the extra shot of patron. For $7.99. So I ask why there was no communication of this. She basically told me this is just what it is and there's nothing she can do about it. I've been to boujee overpriced Mexican restaurants all over San Antonio and have NEVER paid this much for a margarita. Insane! Receipt attached below.

We were staying at the hotel across the street from here & decided to give this restaurant a try because of the proximity to the Hotel. We drove around from the back of the restaurant and almost drove off because of the outside. But I'm so glad we decided to stay and eat. The food was phenomenal. The beef fajitas were so tender the chimichanga was excellent, and the margaritas are some of the best I've ever had. this will be our go to restaurant when we are visiting San Antonio. The reason for four stores are the drinks are kind of expensive for the area.

I just ordered puffy tacos, they were the worst I've ever had in my life. I complained about the food and was not charged. They offered an alternative but I didn't want to risk it. I will not be eating here. 1/23/25

Best kept secret!I eat here at least four times per month.The wait staff is fantastic!I've never had a bad meal, yet I've tried most all items on the menu, including breakfast!Come for happy hour, they have a serious tequila offering!Come for anything and you won't be disappointed!

Cocktail was very good, service was very attentive and the atmosphere was very clean and lively as they had live music. Fast service and great food.
