Normally, the food is excellent, but their Menudo was so bland. They changed the menu and they no longer have weekend lunch specials and they are no longer closed on Mondays. They charge more for the drinks and they did not refill the teas even though we got it in a to go cup which they charge you extra. the pricing is a lot more. Normally, I could feed my family for under 40 bucks and this time it was over 60.They moved the furniture around. They didn't have Barbacoa. The next day we went to a different spot in the same neighborhood and it was 40 bucks.

Jesmas is amazing. The breakfast tacos always get it right for me. The potato and egg is on point. The potato's are not dry like most places and you can taste the butter on them. Chorizo con papa is amazing. Chorizo and egg is one of my favorites as well. The Carne Guisada has excellent flavor. Barbacoa is great. Picadillo is flavorful. The tortillas are freshly made. You can feel the flour on your fingers. The chips and salsa are great for me. The quesadilla plate is good and I love the puffy taco plate as well. I've tasted a lot and have gone a lot. I love this place and try to go weekly.

Ugh. To give this restaurant one star hurts. It hurts because it has absolutely nothing to do with the food. The food is excellent and which is why I kept going back for more hoping their service would get better. Sadly, no. Every order got worse and worse. Today was the last straw for me. (At least when ordering through Uber... see. I still love the food so much I'l still go back). My order is rather simple I think. For my family of 4, we get 6 tripa tacos on corn and no pico, which shows comes on the taco. A few times when asked to put on the side I ended up with random price adjustments in random amounts. I realized they charged me for pico on the side... which already comes with the taco. Made no sense to charge to take off the taco and put In the separate foil. Yes I am aware to go costs as well but it's pico for 6 tacos. I shouldn't have to pay 3 bucks for a piece of foil. Needless to say I just tell them to remove and I buy a side of tomatoes. The rest of the order is either 2 Winnie and egg for a child and 2 bean and cheese for a teenager. No big deal. Now. Out of the many times I've ordered this, I've gotten my order correct twice. 10 tacos. 3 fillings. Only 2 orders spot on. Every other has been something missing. Today was literally 6 tacos missing, one day I got a taco with nothing but pico and no tripa, and another time I got barbacoa in a container with two random tortillas on the side. I'm understanding, maybe they were busy, maybe they ran out of something but today was the last straw. How do you miss 6 whole ass tacos? Ugh. Why did you do me like this, Jesma!?

Working in the area and stopped in based on other Yelp reviews. Just wanted to verify that it is a great little Mexican food stop. Beef fajitas were very tasty!!

The food is decent here. Stopped by for lunch and got the meatloaf special. $6.50 with a tea. Not too bad. Nothing over the top. Came with 2 sides, salad and a whole dump truck worth of brown gravy. Swung by the very next day, today and got some breakfast. They're breakfast surpasses their lunch. I got the super Texan huevos rancheros. That plate was really good. It was a standard huevos rancheros plate but came with a side of carne guisada. The flour tortillas are home made. Corn tortillas are package. The staff is really good. High level of customer service. Great hospitality. At check out they added something like $0.60 to my final tab for them having to use their card transaction machine. Found that very odd. Other than that it will do if you're in the area which was the reason for my recent visits.

The food here was amazing. Tortillas home made and the Barbacoa delicious. The pancakes are not like any other pancakes we have had they add extra flavor to the batter you don't even need syrup. Definitely will be coming back

Great value! When in San Antonio, one has to eat breakfast tacos. Many restaurants have taken advantage of this staple, but Jesma's has stayed humble. Their food is tasty. The chorizo was flavorful without being greasy, which is an art form. Also, the prices were more than fair. This is definitely an important restaurant in our rotation when looking for great breakfast tacos. I'm sure their other specialties are also good. Love the variety in the menu.

Such an odd name for what is essentially a tex mex café. If you're in the area, you'll likely drive past it several times during non-peak dining hours and not know whether it's even open, much less the tasty joys that are inside.I was working at a nearby school and didn't give this place a second thought until a coworker insisted I go with her. It's kind of a hole in the wall shack, which is potentially a scary place to visit but usually a score in terms of awesome home-quality food. I got an enchilada plate with a puffy taco and everything was phenomenal- from the family-recipe enchilada sauce to the fresh-made taco and fantastic refried beans, nothing was short of great. My coworker is a regular here and we received fabulous and attentive service. Had I stayed in the area, I probably would have put it in my regular rotation as well. Everyone in SA is picky about their enchiladas, and these get a thumbs up from me: cheesy, saucy, and large, without adding in any funky new ingredients or trying to mess with an old staple.

Jesmas has the best bean and cheese tacos in town, in my opinion! You can call in and order over the phone and pay when you get there. I haven't done dine in since March, but everything I've had in person over the past few years has been delicious and very well priced.
