J'Dubs Burgers & Grub

Saw this place featured on SA Foodie. We collectively ordered the chicken fried steak and double burger. The burger was good but nothing spectacular. We actually liked the fries the most. The fries were hot, fresh and just the right amount of salt. We also ordered a couple of shakes. They had good flavor but nothing amazing. I felt like they needed to be dressed up for a $5 shake. Our shake was originally given to the wrong table. The staff said he would go get us another one. Thinking he would still bring us one to replace it I took it. That was a little awkward but I figured he would hook me up for their mistake. Rather than throw it away I took it. I wont do that again. This is probably a one and done for me. The outdoor seating was nice. Parking nearby was also a little of a challenge.

This is, without a doubt, the dreamiest fried fish I've ever eaten. If you want to experience a carnival of flavors in your mouth, J Dub's is bringing it with funnel-cake reminiscent, tempura-battered cod. Crisp, fresh lettuce adds to that gorgeous crunch, and the softest potato rolls bring you in for that easy landing. Fried fish can be super greasy and, therefore, offputting, but J Dub's manages to balance fair-food flavors with a light and airy mouthfeel. You'll walk away feeling like you could climb a mountain or, at least, get through Thanksgiving-week crowds at H-E-B. I'm having to borrow thumbs for this review because my two God-given ones are not enough. Ten dozen enthusiastic thumbs up for this "omg, you better shut up" fish sandwich!

First time at this newer spot. Outdoor seating only at this time. The double burger is quite big. It was very filling (and I can definitely put down some burgers). The waffle fries portion was also quite generous.The burger on a potato bun was delicious. The quality from bun to bun was top notch. From their signature dub sauce, house made pickles, fresh lettuce/tomatoes, hand mashed patties to their soft potato buns. All of it was a good bite of flavors. My only tip: be sure you check with them on how they typically cook their patties. I like my patties well done and mine were cooked medium. I may have overlooked that on the menu, so I'll be sure to pay closer attention next time.The waffle fries were super fresh and perfectly seasoned. I am a huge fan of waffle fries and these are hands down the best around. The regular size was a generous portion that could easily be split between two people. I also appreciate that they are considering the environment in their packaging of items. No styrofoam! Fantastic! Thank you!I'll be back to try the fried chicken sandwich which is brined in-house. Looking forward to it.

Omg. I had high hopes for this place. I don't even know where to start. 1. Food took foreeeeever. And wasn't right. I don't mind waiting, but only if you really don't put on the onion and tomato like I requested. I also asked for light sauce... my sandwich was smothered in it!2. I ordered three meals, one to go. When he brought my two meals out I asked for the 3rd and he said it's ready. I'll bring it. 8 min later, I had to walk in and grab it off the counter. 3. Fries were fine, a little salty. Like me after spending $40 and 40 min for subpar food. Next time, I'll grab a Whataburger junior. At least there, they follow my requests.

I received an invitation via FB to visit this late night spot so I walked over after work as I am a restaurant guy and work around the corner. When I arrived,I was told that I could not order by the front door staff. They seemed amazed that I was willing to pay a cover charge in order to get some carry out but added that there would also be a one drink minimum. I agreed and paid, bellied up to the bar, ordered a beer and tried to order my take out. The bartender did not feel that this was possible and left for a while to figure it out. Upon his return he said he could not accommodate my fish sandwich request but I could get a burger. I explained my wife's food allergies and requested a burger, no bun, but atop a salad of sorts like she gets from Wataburger all of the time. Upon receiving my food I noticed that her food was two patties, no vegetables, wrapped in foil My burger was a mush of bun and patty and the fries reminded me of elementary school. Not only was the food awful, the environment was, how should I say; aggressive. It was clear that the staff did not appreciate my business upon my exit but I did receive thumbs up from the bartenderand doorman, probably because of my generous tip. I thought that Jeff Wayne White was a Chef but obviously not...

Jdubs is two great chefs doing it Right!! Both Chef Jeff and Chef Louis are amazing and consistently cutting edge on quality and flavor !!!This is Dive food with 5 star flavors!!!!Check them out, you won't be disappointed!!!If you are looking for mass processed products this is not your jam. Think about being at the first five guys or the first In N Out these guys are setting a new standard for Dive burgers Baby !!!

If you've got a hankering for a sexy double burger busting at the seams accompanied by crispy perfectly seasoned fries, then go to JDubs. Whether you call it in, take it Togo, or hang out at a table outside, it hits that spot. The double is an iconic burger that screams Jeff White and we all love that. And if your burger takes a little while, well, what else do you have going on during a pandemic. Be patient and support local. These guys work incredibly hard

Chef Jeff made my fish sandwich dreams come true. But let me put a bookmark on that to tell you that we went HAM and ate not just the fish sandwich but the single burger AND chicken fried steak. And we did it in one glorious moment. The single patty burger was just right. The patty was meaty and the char was tasty as hell, the cheese gooed, the bread was soft and inviting, and those perfectly this sliced, buttery, lightly vinegary pickles are a delight in my mouth (I don't even like pickles in my burgers, but I'll have some more of these please). The chicken fried steak sandwich hits the freakin' spot and then drips gravy and it's the best mess you could hope to be in. It's crispy, crunchy, juicy, smothered in just the right amount of gravy, and again, pickles. Why are pickles in my sandwich? Because Chef Jeff said so! Put em' in your mouth! And now... DrumRoll... the fish sandwich. The fried fish sando of my freakin' dreams.. Cue the spotlight, play the music, slow mo- oh yeah... it's a juicy chunk of crispy, crunchy, perfectly battered deliciousness with the perfect creamy, zesty tartar sauce... just do it.Did I mention the soft crispy fries? Apparently Friday's are going to be fish and chip days and so now y'all know where you can find me. Eat everything here. All of it. It's ALL wonderful.

Holy crap the burgers are damn fine here. We were so hungry and so jonesing for all three of our items that we dug right in and didn't take ANY photos; ughhh. This is the home (for now at least) of JDub's AND Motel Fried Chicken! All of us wanted a taste of everything so we order the MFC spicy chicken sandwich, JD's fried fish sandwich and the OG Dubski burger. Best burger I've eaten in a long time. Tasty, juicy, cheesy and the right amount of saltiness. The fried fish came with jalapeño tartar (delish) and the spicy chicken had the right amount of heat. We ate both waffle fries and French fries. The seasoning on the fires was the bomb and the dipping sauce of honey mustard and Alabama BBQ was spot on. Was super bummed they were out of their signature peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies so opted for their red velvet white chocolate chip cookies. Not too shabby! The Motel Palmer was the perfect blend of lemonade and tea. Will definitely be returning here again for sure.

Make sure to order well done. Bad and salty burgers. Frys were extremely salty. For two people, be prepared to spend $30. Horrible service. Wait staff will say, "where the fuck is Jeff?" When they can't find person who ordered. Parking lot is only big enough for 5 cars.
