One of the best (and most underrated) tiki bars in the country. Hugman's Oasis is an escape to a cave-like South Seas paradise, complete with diverse menu of classic and modern rum-based cocktails. The dark interior is filled with carved wood tikis, a faux water feature, and plenty of illuminated vintage fishing floats. They are located on the Riverwalk, but the entrance is somewhat hidden. Look for Tokyo Cowboy; Hugman's Oasis is just down the stairs, or you can take an elevator down. The bar has a patio area with tiki torches, but I recommend the interior bar. When visiting a tiki bar for the first time, I always start with a Mai Tai to test the waters. The one here was wonderful, complete with Rhum Agricole. I opted for the $2 upgrade to the better rum, which was well worth it. Their Painkiller was expertly executed, and quite light on the palate, despite being sweet and creamy. My third drink, and perhaps my favorite, was one of their house signatures, the "Texas Sun", which includes bourbon, white rum, dry curaçao, baking spices, and a little absinthe. Tiki bar food is notoriously terrible, but the Coconut Shrimp here were tasty. The shrimp were juicy and fresh, with a delicately crisp, well seasoned breading. The bartenders were knowledgable of tiki culture and cocktails, and genuinely hospitable. I was shocked to be the only patron on a Thursday night. If this bar was in LA, they would be packed out every night.

Super cool and unique tiki bar right on the corner of the Riverwalk. So many great places to visit near the bar, hotels and restaurants. We reserved a table on the patio for the Day of the Dead River Parade. The drinks were super fun ... the unique mugs and glasses. The combo of liquors was spot on. Loved the old fashion with rum. The Holy Goof is a crazy blend of flavors that worked so well together ... aramo, coconut, pineapple, matcha, oat milk! The River Ghoul was a special for the Halloween time ... tasted like a cherry cordial .. YUM!!!The small bites were super good as well. The service was spot on .. a little slow started but good from then out.

Walked up around 6 on Saturday with a group of 7. Immediately the waitress worked her magic and got us a spot outside. Decor was highly thought about in this place! Lightening , wall decor, music, and drink presentation all very much for the theme. The staff were so friendly and so were other tables sitting near us. Had the fries there and they were delicious I appreciated they also offered unique mock tails that I didn't try this time but will definitely come for next time. Would 100% think of brining out of towners here- would be a great bar stop while checking out downtown!

This is the cutest little Tiki Bar tucked into the corner of E Commerce on the river walk. It really does feel like a little escape away from it all. We planned on checking this place out after dinner at Tokyo cowboy but apparently we needed reservations so had the chance to try this place first. Everyone from the hostess to the servers were very friendly. We were waited on quickly and had our drinks before you knew it. I had the Naughtical By Nature. Vodka, Blue Curacao, Pamplemousse, Lemon juice, Hugman's Orgeat. I selected it in part because of the name and because I wanted something with vodka. It was really good but wish I got what my husband had. He had the Texas Sun. Bourbon, White Rum, Dry Curacao, Allspice, Cinnamon, Absinthe, Lemon juice. I had a sip and was in heaven. It was so good. I can't wait to go back and spend more time here and try some of the food too.

I brought my friend to San Antonio for her birthday, and when she saw this place, she said she wanted a birthday drink there. Even though it was a lovely day outside, we sat inside, and the ambiance couldn't be beat. I loved the decor and kitschy cups. The bartender was super friendly, coming over to sit with us and chat while we figured out what to order, and he even gave us both free shots for my friend's birthday. (In a super cute skull shot glass, of course!) I had a Texas Sun, which to my delight came with a flaming pineapple. My friend's Jungle Pajaro came in an adorably kitschy cup, too. We also split some fries, which were delicious and the portion size good. This is a fun little hangout that is different than the rest of the Riverwalk. I'd definitely go back!
