We came here on a Monday for lunch. The restaurant is in a large strip mall with tons of parking. It's a pretty small restaurant, but we sat right away. Our server was very attentive. We started with the kani fries, which had way more crab(krab?) meat than we expected. I got pork tonkatsu and my wife got chicken yakisoba. We loved our meals and the portions were large enough to bring home leftovers.

This place is legit. If you're craving a flavorful, soul-warming meal, yakisoba and udon are an unbeatable duo. Both dishes offer unique textures and bold tastes that make them a staple in Japanese cuisine. The yakisoba is an absolute delight with its savory, smoky flavor, thanks to the perfect balance of stir-fried noodles, vegetables, and tender protein like chicken or beef. Tossed in a rich, tangy-sweet sauce, it's a mouthwatering combination that keeps you coming back for more. Every bite feels like a burst of umami goodness. On the other hand, udon is pure comfort in a bowl. Those thick, chewy noodles swimming in a light yet flavorful broth--be it soy-based, miso, or curry--create the ultimate cozy experience. Add some tempura, green onions, or soft-boiled eggs, and you've got a dish that's both hearty and satisfying.Together, yakisoba and udon offer the best of both worlds: bold stir-fry magic and warm, brothy perfection. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely meal, these dishes guarantee a fantastic culinary experience that'll leave you feeling happy and satisfied.

The way they make Karaage wasn't the same as how Japanese do so it was a bit different.Ramen was ok. Katsu was good and liked how they present the food like Japan.

Service here was quick and friendly! You really can order, eat, and be out of here within an hour because of how quick the food came out!I ordered the chicken katsu, which I loved the presentation of! Mine was very yummy and it came with miso soup, rice, pickled vegetables, and the concoction to make my dipping sauce with freshly toasted sesame seeds! My bf got the Gyo Don, which is the beef rice bowl and said the flavors were very yummy. He ended up adding some sriracha for spice. The main thing that didn't give this 5 stars was the appetizer -- Iko gesa age, which is fried squid tentacles. It was extremely overcooked and we could barely bite into it so we did not end up eating it.

Had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table since we had an early dinner--very small place but the food is so delicious! The fried rice with chicken is made To order and has an almost sweet taste to it so I added soy sauce to balance it out and it was great! My son had fried chicken strips with condiments and white rice. I tried The chicken which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside--very, very tasty!

Expect there to be a bit of wait as this restaurant is small (although they do utilize the space well for seating). Menu is pretty simple and straight forward, drinks are bottled or canned grab and go style in a sliding refrigerator at the front. I did have to call attention to a server out of my section because we had waited more than 15 mins at our table with no service. The gyoza was yummy, the black garlic tonkatsu ramen was delicious and the katsu was a fun experience. I have never had the opportunity to grind my own sesame seeds. I did not like the cold edamame that tasted microwaved however. Overall the establishment was clean, had friendly service, and good tasting dishes.

After quite some time away, I was excited to return to Home Hoka Fuku and indulge in some of my favorite dishes! I was especially looking forward to their cold silken tofu appetizer, but to my disappointment, it's no longer on the menu. They've introduced a new set of appetizers, but I couldn't help but miss the old favorite. On to the positive notes--my go-to, the chicken katsu set, was as delicious as ever. The crispy, perfectly fried chicken katsu was complemented beautifully by the side dishes. The pickled daikon, carrots, and cucumber added a fresh, tangy crunch, and the finely shredded lettuce greens paired perfectly with their ginger-based salad dressing, which is simply mouthwatering. The katsu sauce experience is always a highlight--grinding the aromatic toasted sesame seeds and mixing them into the sauce creates a flavor bomb that's just chef's kiss. The warm miso soup on the side was comforting, though I did forget to ask for extra spring onions. As always, the service was warm and welcoming. The staff is attentive, and the restaurant is still impeccably clean, living up to their well-deserved A+ 100 sanitation rating.I would have given this place five stars, but I had to knock one off for the absence of that cold tofu appetizer I was so eager to enjoy. Otherwise, Home Hoka Fuku remains a reliable spot for delicious, authentic Japanese comfort food!

Great find! I had the Dan Dan Udon and my husband had the Miso Fuku Ramen - both were delicious, just right portions! It was a fabulous dining experience. We also had a cucumber (pickle) appetizer and that was amazing as well! Do visit and enjoy this delicious surprise. We almost thought it was closed! One, it appeared pretty dark from the outside on a bright sunny day. Don't be fooled by the dark look. Two, their "open" sign wasn't turned on. I'm so glad my husband told me to take a ch ace and walk in and check while he parked. We would have missed out! We will definitely be back!

Today, before the Babe and I start our Spring Cleanse to get these bodies ready for the summer, we decided to treat ourselves to Hoka Hoka Fuku. As an avid lover of Asian food and overseas travel, I love comparing my American eats to my time overseas, to see if the flavors from abroad can be found in eateries around my way. With Asian food on my mind, the photos on Yelp did this establishment justice, as it woo'd me through the doors with the thoughts of Katsu and Ramen in my belly. The Scene: Hoka Hoka Fuku can be easily accessed in the parking lot of Home Depot, multiple stores and is located off of Interstate 1604. The establishment's decor was reminiscent of an Okinawan restaurant that was adorned with lanterns and decor, that set the mood for a nice lunch. The Meal: As this was our first time at Hoka Hoka, our waitress, who greeted us nicely highlighted some key items and explained some choices that were being placed on other tables. We decided to try.1. The Gyoza2. Shrimp Tempura3. A to go order of : Tokayaki 4. Shoyu Fuku5. Hokkaido Egg Tart6. Chicken Tontso7. Shrimp EbiThe appetizers were out within minutes along with our drink orders. The gyoza stole the show as the juice poured out of them with each bite. The sear on the bottom was perfect, and the insides were plump with meat and vegetables. We moved quickly into our tempura appetizer and within minutes, our main course dishes were placed in front of us.Everything was excellent and it's rare, due to my hunger that I can simply pause and eat to allow my senses to take over the meal. The smell of the flagrant curry hit me before the tray was placed down onto the table. The salad dressing was zesty/tangy and provided a great taste to the crunchy salad. With senses in overload, the chicken Katsu was just as flavorful and had a perfect crunch coating on the outside to accompany the moist meat.I took a moment to share my babe's shrimp and was glad I took the option to add the bowl of curry for $3. While incredibly delicious, our meal with some orders to go was about $100. Ohhhhhh I miss the old days where one outing doesn't cost you a week's worth of groceries. All in all, we loved everything and will definitely add this location to our Asian fix.Highly recommended: Da Islandgal29412
