i'm really not a fan of american food but this restaurant was so good!! we started with the spinach and artichoke dip and a cup of the jalapeño crawfish chowder. both were so warm, rich, and flavorful! especially loved the chowder it had a bit of a kick to it. also had the smoked pork tenderloin which was super tasty and a huge portion. our server was attentive and nice. the restaurant was cozy and cute with holiday decor!

Ate here last night with a party of four adults. Kai was our server and she did a fantastic job! For the app, we ordered the fried artichokes - first time, and definitely won't be the last. We ordered the balsamic glazed ribeye - the cut was a little tough and gristly. , however the other folks in our group ordered the same thing and theirs was good. Although the restaurant was busy and crowded. It definitely was an enjoyable experience.

We arrived on a cold, rainy night after a long drive from Houston, ready for some comfort.The place has such a cool vibe--one of the rooms even gave off serious Hogwarts energy, which was a fun surprise.We were seated right away, and the warm, cozy atmosphere was just what we needed. I went with the chicken fried chicken, served with buttered corn and mashed potatoes. While the chicken did get a little soggy after about ten minutes, it was still hearty and satisfying. But the real star? The corn. It was perfectly buttery and absolutely delicious.I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu!

We had a really nice dinner at Gruene River Grill. Dining out on the patio with beautiful hill country weather provided a nice dining out experience in New Braunfels. The Jalapeño Crawfish Chowder was the best appetizer I have had in a while. The Country Fried Chicken was delicious. Great meal & nice patio dining. They were out of all the dark beer they listed on their current menu. Hopefully they restock soon or modify their offerings. The service was fantastic from being seated quickly, ordering and receiving our meal. Definitely coming back while the weather is perfect for outdoor patio dining in Texas.

Perfect spot for lunch in Gruene. The GRG has a bit of a rustic, upscale fish camp kind of feel. Great views and good food. I was in town for a concert at Gruene hall and dropped in for lunch. Tried the crawfish chowder for a starter (FYI it's spicy) and had the famous Chicken Guadalupe for my entree. The food, service and Diet Coke was spot on. Definitely worth the stop!

Whenever we visit my kid in Texas this place is a favorite stop. It overlooks the Gruene River and has other little historical areas. The building itself is an old barn and the decor is rustic and tasteful. The portions are big , I had the Chicken salad club and I only ate half. Hubby had crispy pork and he ate it all. My youngest had the Queso Chicken and she said "too late with pics, too busy eating it" it too was gone like the wind. This place never disappoints

Really nice venue and great service. The food was reasonably priced but I think we may have hit them on an off night. While we loved the appetizer Trifecta the meal just had other problems. My wife's steak was overdone but the manager replaced it quickly. The risotto or rice or whatever came with the bacon wrapped shrimp brochettes was not good and the shrimp was a little small but there were three skewers. The creme brûlée was just too burnt. My brother in law did not like one of his sides as well but I do not remember what it was. This place could easily get a 5 star with a little effort.

I went there recently and while i will say I was a little unlucky because my stake had undesirable fat as is with luck but oh lord the taste was absolutely devine every piece of meat I could eat was devoured I'm a native of the town first time eating there I will say it's a hidden gem I never could find the place naturally please search directions! Oh not to mention my waiter was amazing didnt rush no attitude she genuinely seemed happy to work there it was a nice experience

The corn and mashed potatoes were Delicious, the chicken fried chicken was Good. My husband had the ribs and they slipped right off the bone. He said they were Good. He exchanged the slaw for the cup of jalapeño grits and they were really good. Our server was nice and attentive. Great atmosphere and the sweet tea will pass as fresh and certified tea in my book. I'm a huge sweet tea fan so i can definitely tell when it's old or not fresh. ! Awesome place and very authentic.
