Granzin Bar-B-Q

Food was fabulous easy ordering and it's seat yourself the person at the counter was very helpful and all the items I picked were tasty

On October 26, 2024 Sat my wife and I drove from San Antonio to Granzin's grocery and meat market. We have always purchased good products and have had good friendly service from the employees. Great place. We then drove to Granzin's BBQ on San Antonio st. Where we had read mixed reviews regarding the restaurant. There were plenty of customers so we figured the place was popular. First of all there was a lone female cashier who also doubled as the Person placing the food orders from the kitchen window to the front counter so orders could be picked up by customers. My wife later went to the counter and asked for a small cup size to go container. The cashier was not friendly at any time and didn't seem to care about us. She told my wife that normally such containers are not made available to customers. My wife even told the cashier we were going to pay for the container. She reluctantly gave a container to my wife also saying she was too busy to tend to our request. I would say she was borderline rude. I am a very easy going person and easy to please. We ordered and shared a 3 meat plate, Brisket, moist brisket and sausage. I'm sorry but all the food was maybe room temperature. The brisket was close to being dry and a little tough. The sausage was sliced and I could tell it had been refrigerated then warmed up a little but not more than room temperature. I hate to say this, but this BBQ experience has to be one of my most disappointing. Please at least have someone in the kitchen supervising the food order prep and applying some quality control. At least serve the meat at the proper serving temp. Also customer service could certainly be improved. I don't know if we will return to Granzin's unless there are some improvements. There are many good BBQ restraints in and near New Braunfels that we have been to. Thank you Jesse C.

I had a pleasure to try Granzin Bar-B-Q at a party in New Braunfels last month. We catered in. The employees served us at the party. I am so grateful for the service. Since I am not a diehard meat eater, I only know the flavor and tenderness. The meat seemed smoked well and flavorful. The sauce was definitely unique. The brisket was tender but the sausage was really hard to chew. Not sure if it was made with bison or just overcooked. When I can't eat meat, I dive into the veggies bowl. But I couldn't even swallow the coleslaw. It was not fully marinated. The shredded cabbage was still raw cabbage. I saw more than half tray full of coleslaw after the party and eventually it went to the dumpster. We went out to eat afterwards.

I finally tried Granzin Bar-B-Q! I don't know why I never tried it before especially since I had heard how good their tacos were. We got take out and I ordered a chicken taco and side of potato salad. Oh my gosh! The first bite of my chicken taco woke up my senses!!! It was soooo good. Then I worried for a moment thinking I was eating someone else's taco and maybe a brisket one. Checked taco and it was chicken!! It was fully bathed in barbecue sauce without it being messy. It also had pickles and onions. Not sure what made it so good but I do know the proper amount of salt was part of the equation. I knew before I finished the taco that I would give them five stars on yelp just based on this one taco. Can't wait to try others!

The sliced beef and turkey sandwiches were above avg. The chopped onions were ummmm.. falling off the rolls, plenty of meat but a bit on the dry side and a bit tough, still not bad sandwiches. I'd recommend but try several times.

First time at this place. I had two meat combo with brisket and "country" pork ribs. The brisket was like it was shaved. Very thin. Country pork ribs means cut off the bone. Both were dry so had to add bbq sauce. Not very impressive. I had pintos and cole slaw as sides and they were good. Tea was thin and weak. The girl taking our orders and taking payment was fairly new. Had to ask manager over a couple of times. No biggie. So we all paid and went to our table. Then she came over and asked the couple with us for 4 more dollars because she under charged them!!!! cmon just let it go and eat it (no pun intended). Doubt if we go back.

Sides where good, but Barbque was of a lower quality than I expected from Granzin's. Small child I guess an employees kid was walking in and out of counter and line prep area.

Wow! This place has changed. Absolutely the worst meal I have ever paid for. Order iced tea, half pound of brisket and green beans. The price was high, but willing to pay for good food. The brisket was horrible and portion of meat and beans very small. I have honestly never had meat so terrible, like shoe leather.

The Granzin Taco has changed. They used to put a heaping stack of home cut fries on this taco. They were huge. Now they put a few small potato slices. Very disappointing. Went today for tacos. Long lines are to be expected but I waited. I ordered ten various tacos and sides for my family. When I got my order at the drive thru I went against my better judgment and didn't count the tacos since there were a lot of cars behind me. MI was shorted two tacos that I paid for. This is not a one time problem. This place is notorious for screwing up orders. Service is still terrible. Always check your order if going through drive-thru. Try to like this place but the worst service ever.

Only thing good about this visit was the sweet tea, fries and bbq sauce. Brisket sandwich was tough and hard to chew. Gave up after one bite. Great dining area and atmosphere. Will come back and try something different next time.
