Everything was good and priced well... Will be coming back! Reminds me of old school mom pops fast food

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Luckily we got the two last pieces before they were sold out. Tasty fried pickles, egg rolls, and fried mushrooms. Good portions. Just good fried food. Definitely will be a return customer.

The chicken had zero seasoning, completely flavorless from the meat to the breading. Had tp dip it in gravy, hot sauce or ketchup to make it edible. My boyfriend said it was the worst chicken he's ever had and I'm inclined to agree. I don't know if they were off their game or forgot to put the seasoning in, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to give it another shot. The fries were delicious though, but I can't increase my rating just for that.

I googled best chicken places in San Antonio and this was one of the first places to pop up. Did NOT disappoint. Chicken was amazing. People working there are amazing. Overall 10/10 experience! Recommend to anyone who want fried chicken or fish.

I have been coming here for years today it must have been rushing because the seasoning was not there the skin was not fully cooked our seasoned right the fries didn't have the seasoning on it either it's going to be a while before I go back again and I'm going to try a two-piece first to make sure it's season right damn and I used to like this place

Good place for some quick fried fish and onion rings. Golden nugget has been in this neighborhood since i was a kid, hasn't changed much. Staff is nice.

Omg. Why have I not tried this place sooner!!! I've always passed up this place on my way to grandmas and man I tell you I had a craving for chicken today and I said let's try golden nugget out! And omg I'm glad I did another one of San Antonio's hidden gems! The chicken(not pictured I tore it up lmao) was amazing!! The breading had some lemon pepper seasoning or chicken seasoning on it and omg!! It was delicious it comes with bread and a jalapeño,fries and omg brown gravy a tiny portion but my god it completes the whole meal! I definitely recommend this to people who are tired of KFC and Bland Churches Chicken! The owner is a really nice guy says he's been here for 48 Years!!! Come support this man!!! You won't regret it!!

Very good fried chicken. I hesitated to try this place, (if you KNOW this side of town, you'll understand why), however, don't judge a book by its cover. Chicken is delicious, he uses a lemon pepper seasoning on the chicken, it's just delicious. Something so simple, but yet, delicious. His fryers get emptied every day!! That is just awesome. Loved the thick crinkle cut fries, and he gives you jalapeños and sodas with a family order. His pricing in on point as well. Just a great little hole in the wall I'm glad I tried. I'll definitely be back. Come over and try it, you won't regret it!!

BEST tasting fried fish in San Antonio. The tarter sauce is delish. Very generous portions. Everything is made to order.

This is by far my best fish place in the alamo city and my son enjoys there chicken and fries very much..
