Golden City

Golden City- If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Our family ordered food delivery "from the company" or so we thought. 40 minutes after we order a door dasher messages us saying they are unable to deliver the food. After calling back and forth between the restaurant and the DoorDash driver (which we didn't even know we were ordering through DoorDash) the driver says "All of DoorDash is down."To which we call the restaurant, and are put on long hold again only to say they found a new driver. At this point it's an hour and a half later, and we are going to bed after making sandwiches, so we ask for a refund. Golden City says they can't give us a refund because it's through DoorDash. We didn't give our card number to DoorDash, we gave the info to the restaurant, how is this even possible?Nowhere on their site does it say they use a third party for delivery. If we knew this we would've ordered from a different restaurant or a pick up option. I will never be a Karen, but this is just poor customer service and people should know before they order what they are getting, or in this case not getting.

Still coming back, and it's still amazing! Cold weather making you not feel so great? Seriously try their hot and sour soup. Ive now tried a lot of different things on their menu, all were good! But the Mongolian of the Hot pepper are definitely my favorites I keep coming back too!

Everyone has been raving about this place so we gave it a shot. It was busy and the air smelled greasy. They let us pick our spot. Server was great and attentive. Started with crab Rangoon. Crispy and served with warm sweet and sour. Good and crunchy. We had their lunch combos of shrimp fried rice they forgot the shrimp), sweet and sour chicken and happy family. Food came out quickly and overall was good. Glad I tried it but I have a few other favorite Chinese places I'll stick to. Our tummies kinda hurt after we ate

This is now my go to chinese place. Authentic chinese food. And quick, courteous service. Plus open 7 days a week even on holidays.

When they first opened under new owner it was really good! I guess the money wasn't coming in fast enough, plates have gotten smaller along with the portions. Service is still great, but food has taken a nose dive. Lunch special came out with Luke warm egg roll, ordered combination on the L7 plate and it would not fill a cereal bowl. Fried rice was also Luke warm and salty. I guess it is back to looking for another place again.

Food was so good - I had the sesame chicken lunch special and a small wonton soup! So much food and only cost $12 - that is crazy - I will be coming back for more!

This restaurant is new but in an old Chinese restaurant that sold. We went when they first opened and the food was absolutely fantastic! Dumplings and dumpling soup was incredibly flavorful! I had sesame chicken with fried rice and egg rolls! It is our new favorite Chinese spot! I can't wait to try the lo mein!

Definitely not the same place as before. They remodeled the entire dinning area. Food was great and came out fast. We were not prepared for the large portions we got. So took a lot home. Additionally the final bill was extremely reasonable priced. Only set back is one of our sons was anticipating sushi that was pictured on the menu but we were told they no one hired yet to prepare

I ordered pork chow mein online, It doesn't look like any chow mein I have ever had. It has a red sauce, is very salty and it tastes terrible (I wasn't able to eat). I called the restaurant immediately because I thought I was given someone else's order. I described the chow mein and said it tasted really bad. I was told the mgr would call me back within a few minutes. I never got call back. I won't be returning.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in New Braunfels. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend!
