We were in search of shaved ice/snowcone to cool us off on a hot day and found Frostbites on the search. I hadn't looked too much at the reviews and didn't realize that it was a food truck. Google maps initially directed us to the plaza area where the stores were instead of the parking area where the food truck was.The New Orleans style intrigued me and they were so nice to provide us with samples of the shaved ice and different flavors. Pillowy soft ice for sure and very reasonable prices! My husband and I both had the Cajun sizes though after I got started, it felt like a lot for me. I had the Blueberry and Pina Colada combo. I think the Blueberry took over the Pina Colada taste and color in my cup. That's the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. My husband had the Root Beer and Strawberry and enjoyed his. Strawberry is one of their more popular flavors.Until I looked at the reviews, I didn't realize that this food truck has been around for several years already!Definitely a great one to remember for more hot summer days!

So here in Texas we know it gets hot very HOT!!! So I really recommend frostbite for your refreshing stop it's unbelievable how good these snow cones are. They are not like any other snowcone place you have ever been too. They definatley go over and beyond. You can mix and match flavors and add additional toppings such as gummy bears, ice cream, lucas, chamoy and much more. It is a family owned business and their staff makes you feel at hone anytime you stop by. Their prices are reasonable and very much affordable. I would highly recommend getting the mango with chamoy and Lucas. It is delicious!!!!!

After several weeks of 100+ degree weather in San Antonio, I'd been craving a good snow cone. I found Frostbites after a few searches on Yelp so I decided to give it a try. Of course, there's plenty of Bahama Buck's locations near me but I wanted to try something less "franchisey". Frostbites is located in a little truck outside of Incredible Pizza on Blanco and West Ave. It can be hard to miss if you aren't paying attention. Just as a head's up, it is closer to Blanco Rd. than West Ave. There was a bit of a wait on the day we went. I wish they had more covered areas to wait or at least a few picnic tables to sit down while you wait for your cone. That day, the young lady was taking orders one at a time so we waited about 15-20 minutes for our snow-cone. The consistency of the ice was not what I expected. I will say that I don't think I've had New Orleans style snow cones so maybe I had the wrong expectations going into the experience. I prefer the consistency of my snow cones to be a bit softer with a decent crunch to it. The consistency of this snow cone was a bit harder and icier than I like. The flavors are pretty extensive, like any good SA snow cone establishment they do have chamoy as an option. I got white coconut and tutti frutti. I wish it was a little sweeter but other than that, it was a decent snow cone.

This was the first time to try a sno ball from Frostbite. It was great! Tasted just like a sno ball in New Orleans. Now that I know about Frostbite I will be back to try other flavors!

I love shaved ice. It's a summertime favorite of mine and when I drove by Frostbites, I immediately had to pull over and check it out. I wasn't sure what New Orleans style Sno-Ball was, but I was definitely willing to find out.I was SO happy to see the different flavors they have. Including pickles, pickle juice, chamoy, and lukas. So far I've only gotten to Chamango (which is mango, chamoy, and lukas) but I plan to try different flavors very soon. I wasn't sure what the difference between Hawaiian shaved ice and New Orleans style was, but apparently it is the size of the ice on top. I really enjoy the New Orleans style because they put a funnel over the top of the ice to make it smaller and the majority of your treat is in a large cup (read: a lot less mess, especially when trying to take your shaved ice home!) The shaved ice itself is really, really good. Enough syrup to cover all of the ice in your cup, but not to where you have a pool at the bottom when you're finished. The first time that I went, they were cash only. Luckily I had cash on me, but it did keep me from visiting subsequent times. I recently went back and they now accept credit cards, which means my visits will become more frequent. The price is really, really fair for the amount that you receive. The service is friendly and fast. They do tend to get busy in the later afternoon and early evening. There is no place to sit and enjoy your treat because it's in a parking lot, but your shaved ice can easily be transported. If you're in the area, stop at Frostbites for a cool, tasty, inexpensive treat!

I have been hunting for a great shaved ice spot since I got to SA last year and I'm glad to say my search is over. This place is simply delicious! My husband and I got the small sized shaved ice. It was like $3 each or something like that. I got cherry and my husband got fruit punch. Both flavors were so delicious! They accidentally poured a significant amount of juice on top of my ice and asked if it was ok that way or would I like them to redo it? I said definitely not I like it with more! It's called wet style apparently according to the attendant. Needless to say this place was pretty awesome. They have more flavors and complex concoctions on the menu as well. The best part was the small sizes were huge. I almost wasn't going to finish it but I did. Next time I'll have to opt for the x-small. Definitely a must try for you this summer!

I have been working with Dave for about a year now and I will have to say he and his team have the best snow cones in San Antonio! In addition to the tasty treats, they are also very easy to work with, extremely kind, and very flexible. I highly recommend Frostbites for your next party or business event!Heather

The "La Petite" package to-go was the perfect way to kickstart our Boy Scout pool party. It came with all the accoutrements and my selected 4 flavors. The Scouts and parents were truly happy with the icy, cold treat. Thanks, David!!
