These guys continue to slip. Upon ordering, asked 3 times for our appetizer to come out before the burgers. Corn dog bites came out at the same time. Burgers had been sitting too long before delivery as the bottom bun was too soggy to hold up to the meat. Not sure what's happened here but seems like a lack of proper management. Will let them work it out before returning again.

While visiting family in New Braunfels during the holiday weekend, I stumbled upon Freiheit Country Store. I was searching for a burger dive, and this is definitely the spot. Looks are deceiving because it looks small on the outside, but the dining areas are quite spread out. The bacon cheeseburger "all the way" with Jalapeños was very good. The hamburger meat is seasoned and tasty. I ordered the regular homemade fries with a side of onion rings. The fries were so "overly seasoned" with salt and pepper that I couldn't eat them. The onion rings were some of the best I have tried. Crunchy on the outside, but cooked on the inside. Overall it was a nice experience. Seneca did a great job serving for only her second day on the job. Great service with a smile the whole time. It was a busy lunchtime on a holiday weekend, and the food was served quickly. I will come back again for the delicious burger and give the homemade fries another shot.

Great local spot! Love the vintage look on the floors. Great food and great customer service. Food: I really enjoyed their wings. The tater tots were great too. I'll definitely come back and try their burgers and wings. Great local spot in new Braunfels. I love finding whole in the wall spots like this. The customer service was amazing

This place is pretty cool. Laid back feel to the restaurant. At least for the customers. The staff is friendly and keep busy. We came in on a not so busy day. We celebrated a birthday, we planned on buying a pie, but they didn't have any complete. We started with the tres amigos appetizers. Queso, salsa and chili, with chips. I was craving a burger, so I got the Freiheit burger, the half pound hamburger was thick, could have been pressed down some. Bacon, jalapenos came with the burger. Maria had the bacon burger. Desi had the chicken fried steak. I got a bite of the steak, the meat was good, but the crust was a bit too salty for my taste. Service is good, and the food came out hot and quickly. Parking is all around the building, there is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a bier garden, and live music. I had a couple of beers. I really like this place.

The place is pretty cool. Good place to let your kiddos enjoy themselves with all the playground accessories. Food was well above average. The burger was very good and I really did enjoy the wings. Two things I could suggest that needs polish are the restrooms and the friendliness of staff. The restrooms outside downright smelled terrible to the point of gagging. Each time I went to the bar it was a cold experience and I felt like I was a tremendous bother to the bartenders.

If you are in central Texas and looking for a down home country experience, with amazing German flare, this IS the place. FGS harkens back to when the local general store was the social center of the community. They have amazing starters. The "zwiebels" (onion rings) are definitely homemade with big juicy onions and tastey breading where you can see the pepper. Fried shrooms also rock. The generously-sized starter salad, is dang good with cucumbers, mixed greens and pickled onions. And we have not even gotten to the entries yet! So the smothered chicken dish is drlish with jalapeños and mushrooms. Pinto beans side dish is seasoned really good. The Chipotle burger is loaded and perfect. The buns are custom made. Wow!!! Fresh fresh fresh everything. And... they have pies!!!! The service is smiles all the way. Seating is inside and outside. Just a joy to come here everytime! AND ....they also have regular concerts too so check out their schedule!

Stopped by to grab a burger and a beer. Stayed and listened to the live band for a bit. It was a little hot out but the fans made a huge difference. It was between lunch and dinner so it was kind of a serve ourselves situation but we didn't mind. Great spot for the kids as well if you wanted to bring the youngsters along.

Pleasantly surprised with this establishment. We came in a Friday night and it was very family friendly environment. There's a playground with a single slide so of course the kids get to learn how to play together but for the 15-20 ranging from, 3 years old to preteen kids, they made it work. The bartenders were really nice and made good drinks. We ate Chicken fried chicken (7/10) with mash potatoes (5/10) and Mac (6/10) , the Funyun burger with curly fries and the Kerry (7/10) with onion rings (7/10). The food wasn't bad, you can tell they didn't use too much grease which was nice. Personally I'd order the Funyun burger again. The food takes a while to come out, the same way of you were making it fresh at home. Honestly the food was home made style for sure - not mad at it at all. The vibe was the best part. Live music, kids having fun and nice amount of space to just hang out with good people. We will be back and hope to have another great experience.

They serve a great cheeseburger. The music is loud but the kids always have a blast. I do like it here, the prices are great and the food is always good.

The Fat Man and his wife took a trip to Texas. Our first stop was at Freiheit Country Store in New Braunfels, Texas. Freiheit is a historic wood hut with a patio & live music, serving old-time burgers & fries with beers.We started our adventure with the Southwest Texas Egg Rolls. This dish is chicken egg rolls and chipotle ranch. The egg roll was crispy but not falling apart. The chicken is tender, and the black beans, corn, and peppers add flavor and a little texture, with spice on the back end. The cheese adds a gooey level and creaminess. The homemade ranch cut through the egg roll with saltiness and creaminess, but the chipotle kick in the sauce did not come through.My wife ordered The Kerry with bacon, cheddar cheese, Kerry sauce (BBQ and ranch), lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. The burger was cooked well with great flavor, and the veggies were plentiful, crispy, and fresh. The cheese melted well, thick cut, and offered a nice saltiness. The bacon was thick-cut and salty, but unfortunately, the Kerry sauce was in the background. It added creaminess and a little tang to the bite where it was found. The fries looked hand-cut and were seasoned well but tasted like they were a bit old and slightly stale. I ordered Vic's Famous Freiheit Extreme with bacon and cheese, fully dressed in grilled onions, jalapenos, and mushrooms. This is a 1/2 pound burger served on a Hawaiian bun. The bun is soft and sweet. It cuts through the bacon, which is a salty and thick cut. The cheese was sharp and salty. The veggies are fresh and plentiful. The grilled onions offer sweetness and char. The mushrooms provide a slight chew. The jalapeno was lost and didn't have much kick. The burger was juicy, flame-kissed on a grill, and had a subtle but good taste. The onion rings were large, not overbreaded, and had an excellent crunch, while the onion did not pull out and offered texture.Freiheit Country Store's menu includes burgers, starters, entrees, salads, wraps, and other sandwiches. They offer beer on tap, bottles, cans, and a full bar. The wait staff was amicable. The Fat Man says that Freiheit Country Store is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
