Food truck was a disappointment, service was unenthusiastic and preoccupied, and the St. Paddy's Day vibe was underwhelming.

Never a dull moment at the pub. Great people, great drinks, TV's on every corner of every room...and most importantly great prices.

I've lived here for a long time. I have passed by this bar thousands of times. Finally I had the time and opportunity to visit. I have to say that this just may become my go to bar for the noon NFL games. It's dark, no natural light which is good if you're nursing a hangover. I did not get to try the food but I look forward to it. I had the whole joint to myself for a time, and the bartender's name is "Payton", and she is the coolest California Girl ever. Very friendly and professional. This place is definitely the kinda dive bar I would go to escape everything else.

This has become my go to bar. I am a frequent visitor for about 2 years. The regulars are awesome and welcome new comers like they have known you forever. The bartenders are awesome. I think if you go there one time they will know exactly what you drink the next time you show up. The happy hour bartenders are awesome but the late night bartenders are even better. Suzy is the best of the late time bartenders. She keeps the bar moving and all of the late night people absolutely love her. If you are lucky, her wife will be there and play a mean and fun game of pool with you. They used to have karaoke on Wednesdays but that has disappeared for some reason, but they still have bingo during the 3 o'clock game on Sundays. There is a lot this bar could do to market itself and make a whole lotta money but they choose not to. So, it can be very slow after 7 PM, but if Suzy is there, she will find a way to entertain all of us in the late crowd. I used to go there on Wednesdays for karaoke, but that has disappeared and I wish they would bring back the guy who did it. I have seen him there occasionally, but he never stays for long, and never drank much. He just put on the karaoke, which was a lot of fun and brought in a lot more people than are there on Wednesday nights now. So now the karaoke group that used to go on Wednesdays now go to another bar which is not as much fun, but is the new option. Hopefully Finnegan's starts to do entertainment because even though it's a bunch of regulars, the regulars still like to have activities, especially karaoke, that gives us something to do beyond pay for the jukebox. I drink all over town and have never had to pay for Music to be played in the bar but that is how Finnegan's works. For now, I will keep going there because the current staff is great, but if the staff changes and the entertainment like karaoke does not come back, I will be moving on to Kennedys and bring all of the Suzy followers with me. I know that many of the regulars are there for the bartenders who have been there for many years, but none of them stay for the after happy hour fun. It is my sincere hope that whoever runs this place understands they have a cash cow and do something to keep the after hours group entertained because we can bring in a lot of money for the bar. A good start would be bringing the karaoke guy back and having Suzy work a lot more shifts. I have no idea what her last name is but I am pretty sure everyone knows her as Suzy. I am not sure what her shifts are, but if you want to try out this bar, I suggest you call and come in when she is working. She and her wife are a hoot. Even if her wife is not there, Suzy is awesome. And if you happen to come in on a night that she is not working, all of the staff are awesome and you should have a good time if the music plays all night and the entertainment picks up. They do something called wrong answer trivia, which is absolutely horrible. But I am hoping that since that trivia draws no crowd, that the bar decides to have real trivia where the accurate answer wins the game. I also hope that they get karaoke back and figure out if the NFL bingo is going to be at 3 o'clock on Sundays or Monday night football. I may sound like I do not like this bar but I really do love it. I just think there is so much more the owners could do to make it much more fun for those of us that like to go in after happy hour. Please inject some fun and singing into the place any day of the week. And if you wanna garner a huge crown on Sundays get Sunday ticket. But for now, get karaoke, real trivia and market the place.

I loved this bar for years until last night. The owner made a complete and total fool of himself after getting wasted while celebrating his birthday. I took a picture of the bar inside for promotion on social media. A drunk man and woman took offense and claimed that I needed permission to photograph. I educated and informed them that it was a public venue so no permission was needed. The drunkard owner comes over taking the sides of his long-time fellow alcoholic patrons and angrily starts yelling at me to leave and never come back. I expected so much more class from a bar so close to Stone Oak, but then again there could be a trailer park around the bend just the same. Great place with exceptional staff but an idiot for an owner. This is the photograph that set it all off. The two bar flies on the left were the offended Karen's.

One of the best bars in San Antonio. Now they have more Tv's! A truly cool sports bar. Bartenders are so great!!

Started coming to Finnegan's in 2022, and ever since, the bartenders and the regulars have become like family. The new owner, Schoolie, has done a ton to improve the place ever since taking over in March: new and updated gaming machines with touchscreens, new LED mood lighting, updated sound system, purse hooks installed under the bar for ladies to hang their purses, brand new pool table, and installed new TVs for the bar patrons to take part in the TapTV trivia games where we compete against other bars across the country. Come in and enjoy yourselves, engage in the often times fun, hilarious, and thought-provoking conversations and acapella singing that can transpire on any given night.

Chill place. Dark. hole in the wall bar with a twist of Modern. go if u don't want to be bothered by anyone. Pretty low key. Great service. Tip ur bartenders!!!
