I love this place. I lived in AZ for years and "Sonoran dogs" are the "Taquitos" during late night munchie needs. this place rivals anything ive had over there. I have only had the Perro Chiludo is FULL of flavor yet not over done. The chilly has a bit of spice on its own so you do not have to add. The elote cup was awesome as well. So good my buddy had to sit down to finish her cup (see pic). FYI that is the unofficial table for this spot, lmao. there are a ouple of tables you can "hover" and eat. If you are already downtown this spot is on Houston across from the Voodoo Doughnuts. If you are driving there parking will be an issue. The parking lot wants an arm n leg. I troll Broadway (between Travis and Houston) for an open parking spot and usually find one pretty quickly (post 10pm), walk through the lit alley and it's immediately on the left. Once you order its quick, sometimes it takes a while to get to order due to the line.

Great food and great service. We arrived at our hotel pretty late in the evening and were delighted to find that El Weinecero was literally right around the corner and had just opened for the evening!! It is SOO neat to find a great local food spot that has late hours ( most of the downtown stuff seems to be lunch only). The Wembynaso was DELISH!! Just my kind of hot dog (although I sell it short to call it that). The sausage in these things is HUGE and SOO very tasty. Definitely top quality dog! I LOVED the sauteed onions and the cheese sauce. My husband tried the Fuego Dog and confirmed that it is indeed Fuego... both times... ;) Exceedingly fiery, but he said it was very good.

The FOOD! So good!!! Came for late night eats & snacks! Me and the hubby got hotdogs that were delicious!! Our kids ate elote and they really liked it. I ordered el Perro con Elote, it was so big! I needed aSpoon to eat the elite that fell on my plate! I think they use beef sausage wrapped in bacon not sure but it's soooo good! My husband ordered el Pedro Caliente and he says it was spicy but very good! They're very nice there and helpful. Service was great! Ambiance is very chill. They have a few tables to stand by if you want to eat there or feel free to order to-go. They have bottle drinks as well. They accept cash app, card and cash and I believeVenmo(don't quote me on Venmo). I love that they are open till 3 am! Perfect for when the bars/clubs close go get a very tasty delicious! Oh and it's family friendly! Definitely recommend everyone should come here and have your not so typical hotdog. You wind regret it!!

Best hot dogs in San Antonio. They moved to peacock alley just a block away and thank god I found them. I had the chili dog which was really good. But to me the star of the show was the street dog. Make sure you have a cold drinks because the peppers on it were smoking hot. It burned but in a good way. I think that hot dog may be my go to dog anytime I am in San Antonio. Go check them out!

In SA for a conference and fell asleep early due to jet lag. Looking for a non-chain place serving food after 2 AM and this popped up. Super dope, urban street food set up. Don't let the words "hot dog stand" fool you - these guys take their food seriously. Rolled up right before 3 AM and was greeted with excellent friendly service. Ordered the Wembynaso Jr (bacon wrapped hotdog in a French baguette with sautéed onions, crispy fried onions, and Gruyère cheese sauce) which was made fresh to order. To those complaining about prices - not sure where you're from, but typical late night street dogs in major cities are $10 now and that's for bottom of the barrel prepackaged ingredients sitting on a metal cooking sheet. This is night and day in terms of quality.Really cool ambiance, currently in an alley behind Houston. Plenty of benches and stools to wait and eat at. Loved the ice cold topo chico and coca mexicana. Bonus points for a delicious arroz con leche. Chatted with the owner Rob for a bit on my way out. Super cool guy. Excited for what the future has in store for this place. I'll definitely be back.Support local y'all!

Walking around after catching a show nearby I was super impressed to find El Weinecero on our quest to find some late night food. BOY! This menu did NOT disappoint! They got spice on top of some serious hotdogs that you need to try. The naming conventions of their menu cracks me up. Every menu includes "perro" (Spanish for 'dog') in the name followed by what is in the hot dog. You can get hot dogs with elote (corn), Mexican style bean chili sauce, and Mexican blended cheese. If you like spicy 'dogs there is a dog with peppers in it too! Wait til you see the bun when your dog comes out too!!!! Make sure you look at the side of the bun, though! Don't forget! They are open well past 2am and if you just want to drive by and pickup you can do that too. They will have your order ready all fast! They got plenty of drinks to grab too including some ice cold Mexican cokes. If you are staying around to eat you can find some small spots with a place to put your food down and sit down on a stool while you get down on your food. Service was legit and fast too! We were very happy with our order of Perro Chiludo, elote in a cup, and a Mexican coke to get us enough fuel to get through some more dancing and hanging out in the area.
