El Torreon Mexican Restaurant

First things first: this place is 24hrs and is hands down the BEST option for late night/after hours food. I have ordered takeout/delivery from here 3 times in the last week (it's been rough week, lol) all after 10pm. Each time the food is packaged very secure, piping hot, and with all the fixings. The menudo, 10/10!!Chilaquiles, 9/10!!And I'm pretty sure I've had all of their breakfast taco options. This is a MUST try place with great prices.

This is a tough one, since the place is a bit schizophrenic. Crazy hours: 24 hour drive thru, dining room during the day, and full bar evening into early morning. Karaoke too. Food was pretty good, typical for San Antonio, nothing wrong but nothing stood out either. Crazy long menu; if you want enchiladas you have 4 different sauces to choose from. Tacos ok, but tortillas a bit well done. Not a real nice restaurant, but clean and plenty of windows. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Perhaps ok for late night drive thru snack.

I haven't been here for a long time. They still have great food, & the sweetest staff ever. It's a family run business, which I treasure. I did end up bringing half of my food home, as always. It was so good straight from the kitchen. Piping hit, perfectly seasoned & huge portions. I'm seeking really authentic places to bring my Dutch family to in October. This made the list for sure. They are still social distancing, at least when I went they were. Honestly, I appreciate that right now. The virus is still going, & it's good to see businesses taking care of their staff. From the photos you can see what I ordered. My biggest downfall has always been chips & salsa - when the salsa is good. Man, is theirs tasty! Their prices are really great, too. I know I'll be bringing my family back in a few months. Until then, I plan on having lunch there again this week. Happy nomming all.

My family and I like to go there when we're in the area because of the food specials and it has plenty of space. We've seen the owner there every time we've gone. They're very friendly. I remember when they're dine in was open 24 his. Right now they are short on staff for that to happen. Maybe one day..Thank you . Keep it going." Dios te Bendiga"

There are TONS of Mexican food restaurants to choose from on this stretch of Culebra. For some reason this one was calling me to it, and I wasn't disappointed by answering its call.This place has plenty of menu items to choose from and lots of specials. On this visit, I decided to tackle the reasonably priced mini taco special. It was $6.99 and included three street tacos with your choice of meat and charro beans. I went with the al pastor tacos. The pastor was wonderfully marinated, very tender and had no chunks of fat or chewy pieces like you might find elsewhere. Try a couple of bites of it before you put the cilantro, onions, and chile on your taco - IT. IS. THAT. GOOD. Speaking of tacos - the corn tortillas are fresh and tasty as well.Final thoughts on the food - the charro beans - OMG! They're so packed with sabor - really! I almost enjoyed the beans more than the pastor. The beans had chunks of ham, peppers, and onions in them. These beans are so good, they should have their own Twitter account. I'd follow it if they had one.They brought the green chile with my food and although it was tasty, it wasn't very spicy. Customer service is really bad it seemed that I kept coming here when the son was working and had a decent encounters but today i went to discuss an overcharge on my bill and the old which owner was there who Says that they don't steal here but my receipt says $60 and i was charged $70 she had me wait till she was done and then print out my bill stating that I gave a $10 tip which I never authorized it i had given a cash tip so i asked for that receipt signed for the tip she then said she would give me $3 back out of the $10 and she would not budge I then told her that I'll just dispute it with my bank since I have proof now with the itemized bill i would not recommend this restaurant at all they are thieves especially the owner.

Buenas tardes, fuimos hoy (05/21/2024) como a las 09:30pm y compramos un appetizer de queso flameado y nos dieron una cucharadita de quezo y todo chorizo y grasa. Cuando habri mi torta de al pastor solo me dieron cueritos de la carde y poquita carne. My novio compro tacos y no tenía sabor sus tacos. Ay mejores lugares con mejor comida. no vengan aquí.Good afternoon, we went today (05/21/2024) at about 09:30 pm and we bought the queso flameado and they only gave us a spoon full of cheese and the rest of the container was chorizo and grease. When I opened my torta al pastor they only gave me a little bit of meat and the rest was fat and ligaments?? My boyfriend bought tacos and they didnt have any flavor. There are better places with better food. Don't come here.

The service was horrible. I ordered the special and she overcharged me and when I complained she told me I should've told her about the special but I was ordering it like make it make sense , the owner kept talking over me, she would asked something and I would try to answer and she would interrupt like what. I tried to be nice to her every time I'm there but she's always been rude. I assumed she's having a bad day that's why I let it pass but it's most likely because she's just rude in general.

My wife and I heard about this place we enjoyed a lunch there recently and really liked these gorditas. Salsa was on point texture and flavor Great!

It was $34 for an incorrect order that we told the waiter we wanted 2 bean and cheese and 3 other tacos she brought us 3 bean and cheese & 4 other tacos and i advise her of the mistake and she told us she WOULD take it off. When the bill came the cashier told us the waiter didnt take it off so we had to pay for the extra tacos we DIDNT eat. That is bad service and completely lied to my face. Dont go here unless you want to be lied too and pay outrageous prices for tacos. Basically stole extra money from me.
