If you haven't tried this place, you should! They are fast & courteous, the prices are soooo reasonable & the food is delicious! My favorite is the beef fajita taco with avocado. I don't know if it's how they season the beef or the way they cook it, buts it's so damn tasty! Highly recommend!

I was greeted by a cheerful Paisa with hands coated in flour as if she was about to do a LeBron pregame ritual. She offered me a fresh hand made tortilla so that I could "matar el hambre" as I waited for my order to be made...major points. I ordered the Sopes which were covered with queso fresco and ridiculously good! Her menu was very reasonably priced and I found myself coming back twice in the next three days.It isn't Mexican food if you're Mexican. It's just food.Everything is good. Everything is cheap.

Outstanding in every regard. Eat here NOW, and then come back in the morning for breakfast. Fantastic tacos, delicious nachos and enchiladas. Currently working my way thru the entire menu and haven't found a single dish that wasn't delicious.

Mexican food is definitely homemade and well worth the deal. Best gorditas around! Don't waste your money at the overpriced chains.

I lije all the Mexican restaurants in San Marcos. but I rate El Taco Feliz as my favorite. They not only have excellent authentic Mexican food but the staff is outstanding. i was visiting my hometown and found this little gem. The place is so relaxing to enjoy your meal without the hustle and buzzel of the other Mexican restaurants. I will definitely recommend it and will go there on my next visit.

El Taco Feliz? More like El Taco Triste. I had just sat down and opened my chorizo and bean taco when after the second bite I realized something wasn't right. In that bite, I pulled out something foreign. In my Taco was the skin of an onion! Onion that isn't even cooked in the chorizo or the beans. I was really disappointed at the bad service, the lady who took orders was casually cussing in front of customers like they were old friends and the whole experience was nowhere near as good as the one in Martindale, where I am a frequent customer. I wouldn't recommend this one in San Marcos, I would recommend the one in Martindale however.

If I could give no stars I would. Please don't let the .99 cent taco bring u in. The food is terrible. The barbacoa taco I got today was so greasy the tortillas was soaked and inedible. The eggs tasted funny also. My kids wouldn't touch it. There are no high chairs for kids. There are only a few tables and the service is slow! Take my advice and pay a little more for your tacos and go somewhere else! Taco cabana has fresh tortillas at least.

They have a new restaurant on staples road. The guacamole is the best in San Marcos. Service great. Super nice staff. Family owned and operated. Highly recommend. Just behind market on 123. Highly recommend combination plate

Well I would like to say that this is a positive review, but that is not the case. I Decided to give this location another opportunity while they were finishing up the restaurant, so I stopped by this afternoon after their grand opening. First of all, they messed up on my to-go order and clearly stated 3 enchilada plates and ended up with 3 other items. Second of all, I thought they made homemade tortillas because what I received were clearly packed tortillas (my guess, they were trying to pass up as homemade). I will say the best part of my plate was throwing it away :(
