El Rodeo Seafood and Taqueria

Not the best place, but also not the worst. Food was good, but service was lacking. We arrived to an empty restaurant (on a Friday night) where every employee except for the cook was sitting around a table doing nothing. We weren't greeted nor given a clue if we should sit ourselves. We opted for a booth, sat down and a waitress brought us a menu. Within a minute she asked us if we were ready to order. Food we shared:Complimentary chips and salsa: the salsa was good. The chips meh. I liked the tostadas they brought out with the shrimp cocktail better. Small shrimp cocktail: for being small, the portion was big. They weren't skimpy on the shrimp either. It also has tomato, cucumber and avocado. It had good flavor. Large seafood soup: a great deal. It was full of veggies, fish, shrimp, octopus. It also had crab legs. It was hardy and would make a great meal on a cold winter day. It came along with two buttered and toasted breads. Fried shrimp and fish platter: 6 shrimp and twoPieces of fish on a bed of fries with a piece of bread. The shrimp and fish were battered in the savory batter. It was delicious. I think it was seasoned with lemon pepper. For drinks we had water. They have several Mexican soda options and tea. The waitress said they were out of beer, but they usually sell beer. When we left, they employees were eating at the same table they had been sitting at the whole time. One lady only got up when she saw us at the register ready to pay.

Ate here on 03/12/23. I'll start with the food, ordered the Texas plate, it was delicious. The tortillas were fresh and good. All in all, the food was good. My complaint is with being rushed to finish eating and being rushed to pay. We arrived apparently close to closing time. CLOSING TIME IS NOT POSTED ANYWHERE. The front door has their hours posted but closing time is scratched off. That said, we had no idea we were there close to closing time and certainly didn't feel the need to ask. The server certainly did not communicate that. My other complaint is that the prices on the menu are NOT what they are. Apparently they haven't updated their menus either we found this out when it came time to pay. I understand everyone is raising their prices, but it should be clearly posted on the menus. With regard to the actual restaurant , it's nothing fancy, there's Mexican music playing, which was nice and there's plenty of parking.

Not unlike most taquerias. This location is decorated with a hodgepodge of tile work of different designs and styles. A typical mixture of booths. Foreign and domestic beer and soft drinks. Outside covered seating and no drive through are a little unique for a local taqueria. One notable attribute is that they are open, always as they claim. I've visited many of the area taquerias that are unreliable and inconsistent. Even their nearest chain competition is infamous for opening late and prices that vary from customer to customer and day to day. Here, I've never been overcharged or marginalized in any way.

I have been here twice and everything was amazing. Any bad expectations should be thrown out the window here. The food was excellent. I recommend the Texas Plate. There are many items on the menu. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My glass was never empty and I never waited on them to come around. It's a small place but they more than make up for it in so many other ways. Please eat here and bring your friends and coworkers. You will be glad you did.

Service here is friendly, fairly standard.Pricing is on the low end, and the food is decent. It's not the five star restaurant my father in law would call it, but it's cheap and fast.If you're looking for food and are in the area, it's worth dropping by. If you're not in the area, there are better options.

So the chips and salsa were not that great but the fajitas omg the fajitas are amazing. We ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas and it was made for two but we ended up with tons of leftovers for that night.The steak was seasoned to perfection and was about as authentic Mexican as you can get. I know San Antonio has no shortage of Mexican spots to choose from but don't let this mom and pop joint be one you drive past without tying!

The food is really good and the potatoes are so soft my family loves to come here after church if you are ever in the area please try it out

El Rodeo serves well cooked, tasty food with the right balance. Their carne guisada is savory and juicy in the inside of the meat chunks, not dry and hard like other restaurants. El Rodeo serves authentic food items usually only available in México, such as juicy and subtly sweet tacos al pastor that aren't too spicy but spicy enough, plus tripa tacos that are too die for! You can order a tripa tacos media crujiente, medium crispy, or suave, mildly crispy, or mucha crujiente, extra crispy, not just one. Way like at other restaurants. One of our favorite plates is the carne a la parrilla, grilled thin steak, con nopales, with cooked cactus. Additionally, El Rodeo's wide assortment of seafood dishes is amazing. Their menu is quite extensive. Try El Rodeo Seafood out!

The freakin disappointment I tell ya!!!!!!!I order literally same thingJust want my two tacos bean& cheese withbacon!!!!I get home excited and no **kin BACON!!!Like how when you repeat orders and the rely backon you! Like c'mon smh! It was ONLY TACOS*heart clutch*The worse when your so ready for them it's beenthose kind of mornings and this the straw thatbroke the camels back!I legit had a fit you don't mess with my food onthese days. Whomp whomp guess this restaurant iscrossed out! Damn the failure.
