Looking for an authentic panaderia. Found el Folklor and lots of customers. Good start. Self serve and go to cashier to pay. I don't know what happened but I paid $18 for 9 pieces of pan dulce. I certainly wasn't thinking when I paid as that comes out to $2 each and that is way too much!!! Won't be going back

Stopped by this quaint panadería (Mexican bakery) after a 10k run by the missions. Glad we stopped. So many options to choose from and the pastries all looked so fresh and delish. The ladies working were so nice and accommodating. They also sell tamales! So much to choose from. Enjoy!

The bread is baked fresh, soft and delicious. The service is good the ladies are nice and friendly. When you walk in you might get a little overwhelmed but just grab a tray and tongs and you pick your own bread, there's no rush and I'm sure the ladies will help you. Every time I come to town that's the place I go to, the bread goes great with coffee . The place is nice, clean and filled with baked goods.

Visiting San Antonio I wanted to find a local panadería in the area that wasn't downtown. A firm supporter of Hispanic businesses that are family owned. El Folklor Bakery is a small yellow building south of city. Great employees, easy to get in and find all the delicious pan dulce. They had a good variety plus some that you don't see in CA. Fresh and sweet. It went perfectly with our hot coffee or hot chocolate that evening in our hotel. I will return when I visit San Antonio again in the future.
