Downstairs at the Esquire Tavern

I didn't want to leave. Perfect ambiance.. dim-lit, warm, chill, inviting vibe. Steady mix of lo-fi beats playing (think Gramatik, Jinsang, Nightmares On Wax). Beautiful choice of textiles in the decor, from the Spanish style tile floor and light fixtures, to the tufted high back leather seats in the adjacent dining areas, to the mahogany wood bar, and the awesomely-random wall of fish taxidermy as a reminder not to take yourself too seriously. Back-lit bar full of all sorts of mid/high-end spirit options. Presentable, knowledgeable, and attentive bar staff (Nico was awesome) that made us feel welcome and appreciated. Didn't try the food but I have to think a place like this does it up right. The world needs more places like the Esquire/Downstairs.

Discovered this speakeasy style bar on my biz trip. Like the name says - head downstairs once you arrive at the Esquire. Super cool and relaxed vibe - and very friendly and approachable bartenders. Excellent quality cocktails.Great place to relax and enjoy a great drink - highly recommended!

Esquire Tavern is located right alongside the RiverWalk and is this upstairs bar/restaurant with amazing craft cocktails. I took myself on a date and sat outside where I had amazing views of the RiverWalk. I ordered a whiskey based cocktail with pineapple and ordered some delicious Aioli French fries from their late night bites menu. My waiter was friendly, attentive, and kind. This is a perfect date night spot or for a night out with the girls. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu.

A very cool speakeasy vibe, beneath the main Esquire bar. Relaxing, but cool, the music accents the bar rather than dominates so you can speak to your companions. Service was good, and quick but didn't disclose that a large group would be on one check. In the future I will go to bar to avoid the hassle.

Very cozy! Creepy and exciting...Bring a jacket, it was a bit chilly...Service was great, drinks were refreshing. Check it out!

Great vibe. Great for intimate conversation. No food. Excellent service and craftwork on the mixed drinks.

We attended this place for the Christmas pop-up. The drinks were amazing and the bartenders are very interested in making sure your drink is on par! He even told us if the drink did not taste good, he would remake it because "why pay for something you don't want". I loved that; makes it worth it knowing they care about our taste buds and money! The atmosphere was on point and the decorations made the scene. The bar is not huge so arrive early and find your spot. They have tables too. They had special little cups that they used to add to the Christmas spirit. My favorite drink was the Jingle Balls Nog; it was DELICIOUS!! If this drink could follow me around to every bar, I would be the happiest person ever.

The esquire is always a place to visit when you are in town and have a drink at the 100 foot bar. We dropped in for a drink after dinner downtown and it was extremely busy but no worries, we didn't want food or beer so we went downstairs to the speakeasy and it was a great decision. Our bartender was really good! He didn't entertain the questions "what do you suggest", "what do you like". These are two questions you never ask a bartender because their taste is usually very different than yours. The vibe downstairs was nice and people at the bar were very friendly and enjoyed having conversations with other patrons. This was probably because the bartender kind of initiated that and made it more pleasant to be down there.

Miracle at Esquire was a very festive, and fun experience. Thank you Danny H for your cocktail pop up recommendations. Every single cocktail we had we enjoyed.

Went to the holiday pop-up bar a couple days after Christmas and had a lovely experience!! The drinks were yummy (I got the stocking stuffer) and our waiter was great (shoutout Matthew). Good vibes
