This past Sunday was National Pizza Day. It coincided with my friend, Teri's request to try @doughpizzeriasa on Blanco and 410. It's been a while since I've visited so this was great to celebrate Teri's belated birthday. Teri had the Blood Orange Cosmopolitan and I had the Pear Sour. We shared the Casa House Salad, Americana Pizza, and Tiramisu. Everything was very good from start to finish. Thankful to have a friend like Teri and get to celebrate her.

What a phenomenal experience I had here! Sitting at the bar I had a brilliant conversation with a gentleman from Italy who stated "this is the only place I have pizza that reminds me of home "!!Started with the appetizer of fresh Burratta... with Fresh, yellow tomato and flatbread. Classic pairing phenomenally done.Had their signature margerhita pizza!! The bartender was phenomenal and informative. When I explained to him this is my first time here. The ambience is relaxing and welcoming. I cannot wait to go back!

Wanted to participate in the Culinaria Restaurant Weeks plus bring our friend who had never been here nor tasted Napoletana style pizza. I had ck'd out the menu once the Restaurant Weeks menus came out. I wanted to try the Burrata appetizer, Pork Love pizza(recommended by Yelpers) & chose the Affogato for dessert so I could get a jumpstart w/the espresso after the carbs & cheese, LOL!There were 3 of us so we all got different appetizers to share. They were good portions for all & really delicious! The Polpetta meatballs were a generous size & the fresh tomato sauce really came thru--nice & bright! The salad had Mixed Baby Greens, Kalamata Olives, colorful Cherry Tomatoes, Pepperoncini, chunks of Feta & Croutons. My Pesto-topped Burrata came with wood-fired flatbread, tomato slices& a drizzle of Balsamic vinegar glaze. Our server Elizabeth was friendly yet efficient. She notified us that she would fire up the pizzas after we were done with our appetizers so kudos on the pacing. The Pepperoni pizza had a nice kick to the Pepperonis. One friend's edges were a little burnt so she didn't eat those. The other was fine. The Pork Love pizza was porky! Mine was a little burnt in the crust as well so I set those aside. I guess you could notify your server to specify doneness? For desserts, we all ordered the Affogato & boy that was a home run!! We were all saying "Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! This is so good!!!" Elizabeth poured each espresso on top of our Gelatos so it was a pool of goodness!!The restaurant was pretty busy with lots of diners & where we sat, servers would bump my arm so it's a little tight if the table is in the middle of the aisle vs. against the wall or window. Parking can be a bit hard & you may have to park across the road. There are 5 restaurants within walking distance apart plus other businesses. Can't wait to come back!

Dropped in for a nice lunch, however ...we had to wait while a table was cleaned off. Then we were finally seated. Waiter dropped by and brought us our drinks and never returned. After 15-20 minutes, we left. End of story and end of lunch!

The service and atmosphere at dough was very nice. It's pricing and service is on the higher end of restaurants, and I felt a little underdressed but there seemed to be no formal dress code. Maybe because it was lunch time. This would be a good spot to have a business meal or to meet with someone. The waiter asked if we wanted sparkling or still water and I opted for sparkling. It gave me the impression it was complimentary / free but our table was charged $6 for it. It's not a huge matter because it's not that costly and you would normally expect to pay for a Soda or Tea, It's just the way it was offered we didn't expect it to be an additional charge. So just for the information of others who may not know. :)Our table ordered the burrata to share, which was delicious. I wish there would have been a little bit more balsamic, but you can't go wrong with such fresh ingredients coming together.I got the lunch combo with a Margherita Pizza and the tiramisu as dessert. The appeal of Dough pizza is that it is fired in a stone pizza oven that was imported from abroad and assembled here in San Antonio. While the pizza's dough was good and as expected, I found that the whole pizza was pretty plain. I've been to other special oven pizza restaurants but they had very strong flavor profiles with lots of herbs. Perhaps it was because I only ordered a Margherita pie, but I just wasn't wowed by the pizza. I don't have the biggest sweet tooth so as far as the tiramisu goes, it was perfect to me. I would come here again on the right occasion. The price point for me makes it more of a special treat but I would like to try a different pizza on their menu.

I had a lovely experience with my Family going to Dough Pizzaria Napoletana. It was my first time having lunch there, we all enjoyed the same Misto salad which had the best dressing, and the roasted garlic was perfect. We all also had the Margherita Pizza and it was so very good, cooked in a brick oven. The service was phenomenal and being with my Family made me feel wonderful. I really recommend this restaurant for all occasions, it's beautiful and the service is great and so very clean. Take your friends! Take your Family! Take your Beloved! You will be pleasantly surprised! :)

I have been thinking of this restaurant for a while - we finally had time and a reason to drive across town to enjoy my Birthday! When we checked in they didn't have our reservation - I thought this would throw the whole night off, but the hostess made it happen and seated us right away. Our server Dan was awesome - perfect suggestions (we took them all) timing and attention. I am picky, I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for 15years and know what great food should be. Explaining everything from the history of the location and the awesome wood burning pizza ovens imported from Italy! The atmosphere was very Italian - I lived there for a few years. The tables are very close but that helps keep the conversation intimate and personal. I would dine here again - must try the pizza next time

Dough makes authentic Italian style pizza. Their ovens were imported from Italy so u know it's the real deal. We got the arugula and prosciutto pizza and wow, amazing. The dough was soft and not too crisp. The cheese is made in-house, it's called stracciatella cheese and was stupid good. The arugula was generously spread on top of the pizza and was drizzled with a lemon-truffle vinaigrette... delicious. There was also more than enough prosciutto to go around which I appreciated. This place was great. Everyone who helped us was so so nice. Our waiter, Thomas, was absolutely amazing and made sure we were well taken care of. BIG shoutout to Thomas!!! Thank you! I'll definitely be back

Very cool pizzeria that verges on a full-bore Italian restaurant. However, you're not going to find some Italian staples like pasta or fried calamari. In fact, you won't find fried anything, as they've cleverly based their menu on whatever goes into their beautiful wood-fired pizza oven.Ambiance is top notch as the inside is designed beautifully, as is the patio. Service is very good, though the wait staff needs to be better trained on the wine list. I found the food to be very good, not great. The roasted version of the calamari and shrimp is nice, but leaves you wanting the 'real thing'. Drinks are good (try the cucumber zero-alcohol cocktail) and the pizza...well, it's tasty and Neapolitan in style. The house-made pepperoni on the 'Americana' is okay but a little tough, and the sausage is surprisingly bland. The Neapolitan style crust is soft and chewy where it should be, though it soaks through easily with the greasier toppings.Average it out, and I'd eagerly come back! This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here.4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary.3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad.2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here.1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.
