Don Juan Restaurante

Whoever is giving all the stars for sure works here... I tried then once more today and nothing has changed. My beef enchiladas plate had clumps in the rice, and the enchiladas literally tasted like there was canned dog food mixed with the beef. Just nasty!!! Caldo de pollo was taken to go and had no potato, no tortillas, no hot sauce and tasted bland as can be. This was my last time there.

The reopening of don juans is great for our community and we love the babacoa family kit , and the enchiladas both the traditional with red gravy and the chicken green sauce , both to take home as we are over 70 and have to stay safe. I did sneak in the other morning to have a enjoyable juevos ranchero plate with papa's y frijolis , plus homemade corn tortillas. Lastly try their steer taco plate ( your choice of meat) barbacoa for no extra chargetheir staff are friendly and professional, damn made myself hungry

Here it is kids!!! The best chicken fried steak in San Antonio area! A wonderful lunch special that includes drink for only 6.99. If you can get here to eat.

Amazing fresh flour tortillas! You can order in packs of 12,20, or I think 30. Whenever we come to Poteet we always pick up a couple of packs. Yum!

Their service here starts off good for the first 5 min that we were here they took our order drink then brought out a cup of carbon from the fountain drink machine so my daughter said it tasted fun so I tasted it and then Had to wait 15 min for them to take my food order well I had to ask for them to take my food order from a different waitress cause original waitress didn't look interested in taking our order so I don't recommend this place and it smells funny and look a dirty I should of walked out as soon as I walked in

I was the only table that wasn't offered chips and salsas not once did the waitress ask us if we were good or if we needed anything and the food was pretty bland and didn't even give us any napkins never again

Service is horrible specially the drive thru. They show prices on the menu board but when you go pay they are a lot higher and when you tell them they say "I know". The food is ok but the service is really bad and makes me not want to come back

Worst place ever I would never recommend this place its dirty you see bugs crawling on floor and service terrible. Was there last week for the first time never again

So today I tried Don Juan's for the third time against my better judgement. However to please my better half I agreed to go. Simply put if you want good service and anything that would pass for decent food then you better keep driving, this is not the place for you. I ordered Steak and Eggs for breakfast and asked for Medium. The waitress was like "is that going to be medium well or medium rare?" I said medium with a little pink to which she said "okay I'll put medium rare" and I said "No, not medium rare, it should be medium with just a little pink". She said okay I'll tell them, they know how to cook it. Well after waiting about 20 minutes I was brought out an under-cooked and still bloody steak. The size was good but just needed to be on the grill for a few more minutes. I asked if they could cook it a little more and the waitress said "Ok I'll get them to put on for a few more minutes". After waiting another ten minutes I was brought out a totally different cut of meat from what I originally had and they had the audacity to call it a "steak". It was basically left over trimmings of FAT and SILVERSKIN. (Teach me to send something back to the kitchen, I guess. FYI I did not check for spit, but based on the service I would not have been surprised to find traces.) In addition to the bad food I had to flag down the waitress to get coffee, I asked when the food was brought out and was told "okay I'll be around in a moment", which she was busily collecting payment and tips off tables while I was still waiting for coffee. I eventually flagged down another waitress that had the coffee pot in her hand and asked if I could get some since I had been waiting. The issue with the coffee has happened on all THREE occasions that I have visited this restaurant. The first time there was a long delay to get our food and then we were being charged for food that was never even brought out to us as part of our order. Strike 1. Second time the service was still no better but the chicken fried steak breakfast was passable. But still had to wait long periods for refills. Strike 2. And with today's debacle that makes for Strike 3. And they're out. (I did pay for the steak and my other half took it since we weren't raise to waste food although I seriously debated sending it back again.) I did not leave a tip this last time because it had not been earned and I did not see a point in continuing to leave a tip when there is no improvement in the service although I had the previous two times. I will never ever go here again and would rather make the drive into San Antonio or Pleasanton to get food. I worked in Food Service for many years and I do have high expectations but this place did not even get out of the basement.
