26 Jan 2024They're OK. The average price of a dozen is about $11.50. They offer many varieties. Jalapeño pork and chicken, regular pork, bean and several more. We took home pork, jalapeño pork and chicken. All pretty good. The jalapeño is not overwhelming. The tamales are on the small size. Really small when compared to those from Tellez or Ruben's. In addition to by the dozen, they offer package deals: one dozen with rice, beans and salsa, also larger packages. They have barbacoa packages as well. We have never tried the barbacoa. Maybe one day. The lot is easy to get in and out of, even on busy Culebra. The staff is friendly and helpful. Be aware, there is a 3% up charge when using credit cards. So many businesses are doing this now. Could be an incentive to carry cash. Ha, ha.

the tamales are so punny. Dont go their if your super hunger. You can easily eat 4 no problem. Theyre the size of spring rolls. The taste is good but for the size the price is not.

Yes the tamales are delicious. They are thin. There was an issue with the pre-order placed online. So I would not have to wait in the store when ordering 6 dozen, I place the order online AND called to ensure the order was completed accurately. When arrived, the person at the counter advised the order was not ready. They said they forgot to "print" the order. So I waited, and 1 of the 6 dozen was given "frozen" because the order that was placed 5 hours before was not printed.

I was looking for something quick to pick up for lunch while roaming this side of town. Tamales are always a safe bet so why not? Well... I would say delicious is a bit of a stretch to describe this place. The flavor wasn't bad but the two kinds I bought tasted very similar which is odd. Regular pork and the jalapeño & bean. This just tells you very little filling actually goes into these already itty bitty tamales. I ate 5 and was still hungry! They sell them by the dozen for about $9- $10 which isn't a bad price. But for the size, you probably wouldn't be able to share any of that dozen with anyone else! The salsa was an extra $.69 for a small container. It was pretty good but keep in mind it's chip salsa.Overall, pretty boring tiny tamales. I kept thinking what is this, tamales for ants?! They need to be at least 3 times bigger than this!! (Thanks Zoolander) I'm pretty sure I can easily find normal sized tamales for about the same price elsewhere so that's what I'll do.

OMGOMGOMG! Real tamales at last! They have more meat than masa, AND they are not dry! I'm so glad they came to San Antonio, previously only in the Rio Grande Valley. They need one in the southside and the eastside, too! They must make $1 million a day!The line was long and it took one hour to get to the window and get my tamales BUT I would do it every day if they were closer! My husband and I woofed them down. I just had three more for breakfast and I want more but I will save a few for later. All other tamale places around here give you a smidgen of meat and a ton of masa! My husband would buy them at Ruben's before, I NEVER ate those. They should learn from Delia's !!!I'm going to have one more chicken tamale!! Delias tamales, the only place to go for real tamales, SUPER DELICIOUS TAMALES!!! GO!!!

I ordered 6 dozen, 2 jalapeño and 4 regular. I wanted them delivered to my hotel when I wasn't there. I would be leaving the next morning to Minnesota. I called the hotel to check to see if these could be held at the front desk, yes they can. I called the West Ave and asked if they could be delivered FROZEN. I was assured that they would be frozen. When I ordered thru DoorDash, I specifically asked that they be FROZEN when picked up and delivered to the front desk. I then got a text w/ a photo that they were delivered to my room door. So I called the hotel and asked the staff to go upstairs and get them as I was not at the hotel. When I picked them up, they were really warm. Now I had no way to cool them off or keep them cool overnight before I left on the plane early next morning. So I paid $97.57 in tamales, taxes and delivery for tamales that I couldn't take home. I did everything I could to make sure this problem didn't occur. I have contacted both Delicious Tamales and Door Dash to rectify the problem and no one has reached out. I am extremely upset how this situation turned out.

Terrible, terrible, terrible! I ordered the tomatillo chicken and cheese.... No cheese whatsoever and I may have seen two little slivers of chicken.... ALL masa. They wouldn't be too bad of a thing if the masa was good..... it was dry..... Do not waste your money on the tomatillo, chicken and cheese. To be fair this is the only kind of tasted so I can't give a review on the rest of them.

Wow! Ordered vegan tamales. Size 3/4" wide by 4" length. My thumb was bigger.Usually tamales are 2" x 5".Not only were they finger size, upon unwrapping them, they fell apart. Was charged an additional $18 for handling on top of shipping. Never again. Buyer be ware, not worth it.
