Always a great meal with a family atmosphere. Delicious home made meals. Ben and his partners are wonderful.

The gumbo is amazing! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! We are going back for catfish and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Highly recommended!

Got some to-go grub last night from Cypress Creek. We were staying at the Meyer and wanted some home-cooked Texas fare and CCIR hit the spot. Outstanding chicken fried steak, fish sandwich and fried shrimp with all the fixin's. Notoriously nice and efficient staff - everyone was great and it was a really memorable experience. If what they have on their menu is what you want, then you will really enjoy it.

We had chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken for dinner with 2 sides. The wife liked her CFC a lot. My CFS lacked a little favor but after lots of pepper and Tabasco it was great The cashier/waiter/owner (I think) had a great personality and was pretty talkative. The place was not crowded. Small town cafe atmosphere suited us just fine! Solid eatery!

The nice, cozy atmosphere is what I experienced first. The food was amazing. I recommend the chicken fried steak with mushroom gravy. The service was quick and very friendly.

Right down the street from our lodging, this place looks desolate and unlike any restaurant I've visited. The solid red door looks more suitable for a speakeasy than a public restaurant but nothing ventured...once inside the decor reminded me of a church basement with walls adorned with old newspapers. The waiter proudly told us, he has worked here 34 years and he is a big part of why this business thrives. Personable, he's never met a stranger. And his recommendations are spot on. He knows the menu and strangely it felt like he knew us. From chicken tenders to chicken fried steak, this place is the real deal. With food you will remember. And save room for the desserts they too are outstanding. Don't worry, the prices make it very doable.

Not the best ace to eat. Portions are small. Setting is from the 50s. Not at all impressed with what they offer.

This a great stop for lunch. The food was wonderful the service impeccable. Wonderful small town atmosphere.

Great little place with friendly staff. A variety of food choices for everyone.Not sold on the Texas monthly chicken fried steak claims. Maybe in it's prime, just not 2022. Noticed Sysco boxes of supplies so maybe they use them as a food supplier.Would visit again if in the area based on food choices and limited options. Would not drive from a long distance to visit.

Went here for lunch today and it was a delightful experience. Nothing pretentious. But excellent home cooking & comfort food. It was served piping hot, nicely flavored & the service was friendly. This is the place where it seems everyone knows everyone else. And before we left we'd made some new friends too. Highly recommend chicken fried chicken, with mashed potatoes & cream gravy and green beans. I'm so glad we didn't eat lunch anywhere else. Pure down home comfort food at its finest!
