Culebra Meat Market

I have to say the staff was extremely helpful and nice. I visited once to get some pricing around specific cuts of meats I was looking for a bbq event that would feed 25 people. The butcher on that day answered all my questions and offered suggestions. I came back the next day to purchase the items I had planned on and this time there was another butcher as knowledgeable and patient as the prior one. Both ladies that worked at the register were very sweet as well! Will definitely go back just because of the attention and great customer service that was provided.

Wonderful Barbacoa--delicious !!! Fresh, tasty, not too greasy. I get 1 pound regular and 1 pound all meat and mix the two together and it is perfect. Tried other places but always come back to them. Comes with 1 dozen corn tortillas and 1 dozen flour , hot sauce that's not too hot, and 2 liter Big Red--great place--always clean and staff is friendly and helpful

If you want fresh meat and all the ingredients for almost any dinner with an authentic flair- this is a one stop shop. Beef pork and chicken, fajita load outs ready to cook, chorizo and marinated chicken. I've lived near this place off and on since 1986, and I'm embarrassed that I haven't shopped there much until recently. Go in, buy steaks and seasonings and "real" Mexican Coke (cola) and all the produce for an awesome cookout, and you're done. Great prices, friendly people and hot chicharrones ready to eat. They even have your smoking wood and grill gas.

I walk in today 5/3/21 to buy some meat. I don't care for mask, you can like that or not it's my choice, but on this day I walk in and the girl at register has no mask, is talking to a vendor with no mask, but asks me to put mine on. In the past I've gone in with no mask with no issues. If a business requires one, I will wear one. But here, they usually don't have them on. Employees there never wear one. When I question her why I need one when you guys are not wearing a masks, she tells me that's cause I work here while coughing. I'm writing this because of the hypocrisy. Either enforce it for employees and customers, or don't.

Beware. I overheard a lady tell the cashier that they still had not replaced the chorizo (prepackaged kind in the produce area). Sure enough, it was May 17 and the date(s) on the packages were [all] May 8 expiration and on top of all those was a Feb. 13 package! I left the store immediately after seeing that. She was parked next to me outside so we got to talking about it and she said that she had already mentioned it to them on May 8 and they told her they restock on Fridays. Whatever. Old chorizo...dangerous.

Culebra Meat on Tezel came through again, cant wait to BBQ on Labor Day. Howard

Do not buy chicken from here I got the chicken I started cooking it and it smelled like straight ass The had a fan to the meat

Butcher handled raw meat with no gloves after touching his face and a few other things outside.

Just walked in to get tortillas and salsa and I get home and my salsa is bubbling so disgusting with no expiration date not even worth wasting my time going back for $2 refund I was warned about all culebra markets and they are right ... should of used my gut feeling after seeing the brown bacon next to the Salsa ...next time I'll just drive the extra mile and head to Walmart

The door says they open at 6:30 am on weekends but they don't actually unlock the door until 7:15 am. If you try to call, you get a message saying the mailbox is full.
