There was something about the Crockett Tavern that kept drawing us back. It was less hectic than the Menger bar, but more inviting than the bar in the Emily Morgan. (Those are the other two hotels close by.) The drinks were good, and the food was surprisingly better than one might expect for tavern food. My friend was really impressed by the brisket soup. Service was a little bit slow, but the friendliness more than made up for it. There was live music both nights we were there, both men playing country, but it added to the vibe. I liked all the Crockett kitsch around the room. I know he never went there, but I want to believe he did!

We went in with high hopes! Loved the historical vibe!Bloody Mary was ehh, but the Crockett Smash was pretty good. Beef tips were pretty great! Burgers were pretty good. Our service was TERRIBLE! Try the sampler appetizer! Chicken strips were AMAZING! Also shout out to the kid from East TX playing great music! He made the night worth visiting!

The beast burger was absolutely amazing and I've been thinking about it ever since! Even my son loved it. I wish I had taken a photo of it. Service was great and the beer was cold. Unfortunately the tables were really wobbly and my second full beer got knocked over and I wasn't able to get a replacement.

This place is attached to the hotel but the staff are very friendly. They have acoustic music which is very nice.I had the chicken fried chicken plate with was a satisfied meal. The chicken was so tender and the mashed potatoes had seasoned well which blended with the chicken. I also paired my meal with a black lemonade (Adult). The mixes well with the salty nice balance.

Got seated right away. Started with the queso y chips which were amazing, not too spicy and not just hot cheese. Then we both had the campfire chopped brisket sandwich and fries. Sandwich had plenty of meat. Just beware, there will be a pickle toothpicked to the top of your sandwich. I HATE PICKLE JUICE! The vibe was rustic-western. Great theme for down by the Alamo.

We stopped here before going to the Alamo and wow the beast burger with onion rings is delicious! We had a very attentive server James who kept our cups overflowing. The decor is old country rustic Alamo themed and very casual environment. 10/10 for the burger!

The location is fabulous as well as the decor. If you are looking for those two things, then this is it.In regards to food and service, our server started out nice. Tried to order beers and she had to tell us what they had because the menu isnt correct. We had another ask us if we had been helped 15 min later because we didnt have drinks. Our server stopped by to take food order, again the menu is wrong. She then was confused why we didnt have drinks. It took around 45 min to get drinks. When food came out....beef tips was more mushroom than beef. I got the chicken fried steak (flavor was good) but it was warm at best.

I was in town for a conference and a group of us came here for dinner as it was close to the hotel. Definitely a casual, laid back vibe with lots of interesting Texas decor and TVs around if you want to watch some sports. As some have said in their reviews, it took a little while to get someone's attention to get seated but once we were seated the service was decent for the rest of our meal. They've got a good selection of food- we got cactus fries and nachos for appetizers and I got the Bowie Beast Burger (elk, bison, wild boar, and wagyu beef blend) for my entree. The appetizers were good sized but nothing noteworthy. I really enjoyed my burger though. The blend of the meats was interesting and it was really tasty. Definitely a mess to eat but finger licking good! My co-workers enjoyed the drinks here so I'd come back again if I was around the Alamo. Great place for a group dinner!
