This is a cash only place! Luckily there was an ATM nearby. I really wanted to try this place out! We came in around 12:30/1:00 ish. We were the only ones in the store. The case was full so I don't know if we just got lucky or if it was much fuller earlier in the day. But there was plenty!! We were a bit confused on if they were open, even though we were standing inside and a woman was mopping. She glanced at us a few times but said nothing. At first, it was okay because we were still looking at everything. But then she turned her back on us while she continued cleaning. After several super awkward minutes I yelled into the back and asked if they were still open. A man came out and helped us. So aside from that hiccup, this place is pretty great. We just kept picking items until we realized we had two bags of pastries! There was just so much to choose from! We walked out of there with two bags of goodies for $11! Wow!?! I was seriously surprised. Mostly because there weren't any prices anywhere. So I just didn't know what to expect. The first thing I tried was the cake with pink frosting. I've had this before but not here. Usually it's super dry and this was not! It was perfection! The concha was super soft like a cloud, I've never had one that wasn't super dense. This place in incredible! Not sure how long it'll take us to make a dent in these bags but I'm looking forward to it!!!

Damn. One look and you'll quickly notice that no matter the surroundings/location, no matter what other's opinions may be, simply judging by size, I do love to eat!Let's cut to the chase. It was a rough day today and I had a bet that I couldn't find a good panaderia on the NE side of town this late (close to 6pm) and if I did, there wouldn't be much of a selection. After much searching on da Yelp, I saw this one an was curious. I read Yvonne P's review and that sealed it for me.Let me just say this:Imma just gon git fatter.I brought some pan dulce home, and my sister, who was visiting from back home (the border) was really impressed. We both said the same thing: "It tastes freshly made." We both agreed that we had not tried pan dulce this good since we were kids growing up of both sides of the border - and even then, it was never this great tasting. What was even more mind blowing was how soft and moist everything was, even for it being so late. Kinda surprising as the owner had shared that's all they had and were almost sold out. We had campechanas, marranitos, conchas and pink cake. PINK FREAKING CAKE, MAN! Let me tell you, we couldn't wait for the French press coffee and just went to town as evidenced by the pics. Which by the way, that's the second set of marranitos and pink cake. That pink cake - - what cafecito & pan dulce dreams are made off.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican sweet bread, it doesn't get any more authentic than Cristy's! While visiting San Antonio this past weekend, I was determined to find "authentic" pumpkin empanadas - the kind my grandparents used to buy when I was a kid. I first took my chances and purchased some from the bakery section of a local grocery chain and wasn't all that impressed, however, once I found Cristy's (purely by accident), I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for!! Not only did they have both pumpkin AND sweet potato empanadas, they also had pineapple, apple, and cream cheese varieties in addition to practically any other type of Mexican sweet bread you could imagine. They were so delicious and fresh, that I was glad we stocked up for our trip back to Dallas. Cristy's will definitely be added to my list of regular stops anytime I'm in town. Love this little gem of a bakery!!

So a little bit of beef with this place. Their hours do not reflect when they are actually open. I have been there admittedly later in to their hours (around an hour before close according to Yelp), but they'll have already locked up! Which is a travesty because their bakery is amazing. All the food is delicious and you can walk out with about 4-5 pastries totaling just a few dollars.PSA: Bring cash! They do not take card. Never been a problem for me, but could be for others.

Can't recommend this place because their Yelp schedule of hours is incorrect. If they can't update their hours, do you really think they have good baked goods? It's all about paying attention to details.

Best conchas in town! Always so soft and light. It's the only place I can find pan de muete that isn't stone hard. The pan the muete is impossibly light and delicious. The place is small and if you show up later in the day a lot of product is sold out but it's worth the drive!

Oh my goodness!!! Cookies were older than Joe Biden's great grandmother. They had to blow dust off the cookies before I purchased them (I thought it was sugar but I was wrong). And cristy, the cookies and cakes were crusty. Disrespectful.....I knew something was up when a sign said "cash only" aka no refundsOh and ...MOSES WANTS HIS RECIPE BACK!!!!
