Centinela Mexican Restaurant

Love the comfortable relaxed atmosphere and the servers. There is a very LARGE menu if you take the time to look it over. I almost Always have a small frozen margarita with salt (or maybe 2 if I'm not driving)I've been going there for many years and I think I might go there again TODAY!!

Man. If I could curse on here, I would lite this place up! The service was awful. The food was even worse, and I've had bad before, but this place. There are no words. I'm still hungry. The only good thing on the table was the free chips and salsa. The food looked appetizing when it came out. Sadly, it was not. The taco was cold. The Chile Relleno was so soggy I almost vomited all over my plate. My beef enchilada had zero beef in it! It was just gross!!!! Never again. Never.

Although unimpressed with Yelp reviews, I visited Centinela because I was Jonesin' for Mexican food near my hotel, and needed happy hour after jockeying for space on I-10 for three (3) hours between Houston and Bandera.Upon arriving I noticed the brightly lit small, patronless bar area and dearth of TV's. Not a place I wanted to stay long enough for tequila and Coronas.....so, I looked around for any redeeming quality. Finding none, I was outa there.

The food was delicious. There was plenty of it. Drinks were good. Service was good. A little slow and they started sweeping and cleaning after 9 which was a little off-putting. Posted closing was 10. The ambiance was okay. It is in a strip mall type center so nothing fancy. But worth the price. 5 people with 3 beers, a soda and two micheladas for $99.

The food has really been good here for awhile but it seems like they are wanting to charge the bigger prices for their food and then serving less amount of it...so it feels like you are getting cheated! Less IS NOT best!!! Go back to what you had been doing!

The food is good, the salsa is great! I have been here a few times for happy hour with some friends and really enjoy the atmosphere and drinks! The service is also fantastic! I haven't eaten dinner here yet, but I've had their queso, which is really delicious!

Spanish is in my blood, so having a very picky palate for Mexican cuisine makes this place a favorite as I get exactly what I want.I choose those very unique items that don't appear at most standard Mexican restaurants. Nopales, lengua, pierna de puerco, and Menudo. The tortillas are fresh and perfectly made. The service is always friendly and when I do want a drink they offer some the best drinks. I especially like the Chimoy Margarita.

This is a great place for good, authentic Mexican food! The service is wonderful and the food is amazing! House chips and salsa is some of the best I've had. They have happy hour until 9 pm and the margaritas are half price, and they're good! (Lime). It's a happy and upbeat atmosphere.

A horrible case of food poisoning after eating here. I would give this place 0 stars, do not recommend, please stay away from this restaurant. We are very sick.

Came in for a to go order and got cheesecake. when I opened it there is MOLD and FUZZ. 0 stars
