Castroville BBQ Co

Formerly Blu Lacy, renamed Castroville BBQ Co, is similar in taste, but with a few new menu twists. You can still enjoy that amazing brisket and ribs and now with the added wings option, it's even better. The inside is the same, wooden tables for large parties and a few 4 seat tables for smaller groups. The outside overflow and bar is still there, but because it was cold outside, I did not venture out. The employees are friendly, which is always appreciated. Overall, if you liked this place as Blu Lacy, then you will also enjoy coming here. A rose by any other name smells the same.

Wow this place is so good, I love Texas and all the love people pour into the BBQ. The brisket and all the sides were my favorite!I love that this place has plenty of sitting inside and outside, they have a playground for kids and a bar for adults. The stars were so nice and I love that you get your food instantly.

So yummy! Fab ribs but the Alsatian potato salad and pickles are both blue ribbon worthy!!! I returned later in the day and took bite dishes to go. Great customer service as well. Super kind young people!!! Had to ask for table to be wiped but they did so w a smile.

I have been coming here since last year and it's always been spot on. The staff have always been great to us and always willing to answer any questions. The interior is classic rustic designs from the old meat factory it once was, has a nice feel to the modern take. The food is always fresh done infront of you which is great too! Also, for the price, it's not so bad, other places are more expansive this one not so much. Now I will tell you, I feel the point (fatty brisket) was a little dry this time, but usually never is. Maybe I had a piece that was sitting on the board too long.

Cute little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The bar being outdoor was a great idea. The service was super quick. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Mac and cheese, brisket and ribs. The corn we could have done without and was just ok. The ribs lacked much meat but were still good. The superstar was the brisket. Oh so moist and flavorful. It was even good the next day.

During my recent visit to Texas, I stumbled upon a BBQ joint that blew me away with its incredible flavors. The meats were perfectly smoked--tender, juicy, and packed with that rich, smoky goodness you can only find in true Texas barbecue. Whether it was the brisket, ribs, or pulled pork, each bite was unforgettable.The sides were just as impressive, with options like creamy mac and cheese, The casual, laid-back atmosphere and friendly service made it feel like a true local gem. If you're ever in Texas, this place is a must-visit for authentic BBQ lovers!

Food: 10/10Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 sat outside the weather was fairly niceWe came in last weekend around 6, the last tail end of dinner rush. We ordered the chopped Brisket family meal which ended up with leftovers because it was just the 2 of us lol. Also got 2 ribs to try and they were AMAZING!!! Mac & cheese wasn't as creamy because we got the last of it but it was still good. Potato salad has a pickle taste they do serve green onions (I asked for them on the side) and they balanced out pickle taste. We live about 20 minutes from Castroville so we will definitely be back soon!!

MI can't rave enough about Blu Lacy Smokehouse! The drive to Castroville was absolutely worth it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the incredible aroma of smoked meats.Every side dish we tried was amazing, bursting with flavor and perfectly complementing the main courses. The brisket was tender and juicy, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection, and the pulled pork was simply out of this world. Their mac and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans were all top-notch and tasted like they were made with love.I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Ended up in Castroville today for lunch and tried Blu Lacy Smokehouse. Very clean and rustic look inside. The staff was very friendly. The food absolutely delicious. I had the chopped brisket sandwich, buns are baked fresh next door at the bakery. The brisket was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The jalapeño cheese sausage was delicious . Ohh my and the Dino Rib was my favorite .. huge, tender, juicy, & full of flavor All of the sides were on point. They have seating inside and outside. Bar outside as well as a small playground for the kids.

An update to my first review, Blu Lacy in Castroville never disappoints! Went on a late Friday evening around 7pm, my wife was craving some brisket nachos and I decided to try out their burger and fries meal. Well I tell you, the brisket nachos were piled hile drenched in queso, pico, 1/2 lb of smoked brisket it was one of the best nachos we've ever had! The burger was made fresh, I was advised of 10 minute wait to prepare the burger, piled with bacon, crisp onions, pickles and their house made sauce it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! Pair it with seasoned crinkle cut fries and made for a perfect meal! The staff was very welcoming and plenty of seating available and cannot go wrong with the Stubborn Soda!
