Kari V. "Smaller place but great ambiance. If you want somewhere quiet yet with great staff to cater fully to you this is the place. Pro tip: Order a bottle of wine and share. A meal is best with a bottle you can bond over. I like and recommend their Malbecs and Pinot Noirs from the California region. Appetizers are all top notch. I can't help but repeatedly order the Antipasto- adult charcuterie board for those not in the know ;) so many meats, cheeses, honey, fruits, olives and crostinis. I'm typically a fan or the chicken or eggplant parm. The special this week is scallops over fettuccine with a mushroom sauce. Can I get a chefs kiss? Seriously though, this place is the real deal. I've never had a bad meal. The menu is yours to conquer.Don't forget a nice tiramisu or crème brûlée for dessert"

Justin F. "My girlfriend found this place and saw that it had good reviews, so we decided to try it out. Once we arrived parking was a bit difficult to find (especially on a Wednesday), since it's in a small area. Once we arrived we were greeted and quickly seated. The atmosphere was nice and had a romantic bar vibe.Once seated we ordered drinks and an appetizer (the artichoke dip) and also ordered our main courses. I ordered the Breaded Chicken and my girlfriend ordered the Basil Chicken. Both came with soup or salad, which we both ordered the soup. One chicken tortilla soup and one soup of the day. Shortly after our waitress brought us rolls w/ butter which were nice, delicious, and warm.Later our appetizer arrived, which had a nice presentation but did not have any flavor at all. It was bland and the pita chips had to be eaten with it since they had saltiness to add with it. Once we received our main courses, we were excited (since the plates looked great). But after eating the food we both were disappointed. The pasta with the Breaded Chicken was very bland and the crust was sliding off the chicken. It was very difficult to eat. As for the Basil chicken plate, the kale was not tasty at all. It had a salty kick and then a bitter aftertaste. We had told our waitress and once she spoke to the manager she provided a 10% discount for the inconvenience.I'm sorry, but I give this place 3 stars. We left disappointed, and even with the discount it was still overpriced for the taste of the food."

It's all they still talk about if you mention San Antonio at all.We came for lunch and were immediately seated. The entire staff was super sweet and our waitress, Lily went above and beyond with everything. The inside was super cute and smelled amazing. We shared the cupped pepperoni pizza and got two small salads to start. The salads were delicious and the pizza was soft, gooey and had so many toppings! I can totally see why my sisters have never stopped talking about this place :)"

Krystal C. "My friend Miranda invited me out to lunch. She asked me what we should so naturally, I Yelped places. Pam's came up as a perfect lunch spot located between both our areas. I sent you the link and she said let's do it. When I arrived in our scorching hot weather it was nice to walk into a cool place. We ere created by the host and seated promptly. The place had a nice, clean, cozy feeling. They had a plenty of options that meet my needs. I ordered the veggie club special with water since it was hot. My husband ordered the bean and cheese chalupa with an unsweetened tea. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. Our food was delicious!! The salsa was the best I have ever had! It had such a spicy kick that I craved more. Let's say it cleared out my sinuses. Everything looked and tasted great! When I saw fruit with my meal I was expecting a small mix of assorted fruit. You know mango, grapes, strawberries. They gave me a small slice of an orange. I also had a dill pickle spear which was nice.Overall, I would definitely recommend. The ingredients are fresh and the quality definitely matches the price. My husbands chalupa looked good so next time I want that. If you're in the area give this place a try. It's a nice place to cool off and have a nice meal that doesn't leave you bloated."

The ambiance is perfect for Instagram photos. When I returned to my hotel and unpacked my meal, I was delighted to find it beautifully presented with a lovely flower garnish. The beef salad was absolutely amazing! Overall, I couldn't be happier with my food."

They have a podcast set up for rent and there's karaoke on Tuesdays. It seems like they have a lot of events they host. There's plenty of seating at the bar, inside, and picnic tables outside on the patio. Inside also has a large projector screen for when games are on."

Linds G. "I've been to the pizza place next to Fredrick's so many times throughout the years, but I had never been into Fredrick's. The entrance is so unassuming you would never know how much deliciousness was inside. The temporary lobster fest banner is what drew us in after going to Florios Pizza, only to find it was closed for a week vacation. Upon entry the restaurant gives a cozy vintage vibe with dim lighting and kind of lounge feels. Everything on their menu sounds delicious. We ordered lobster, calamari, escargot with chorizo, and a beet salad. It was all amazing! I'm sad I just found out about this place. I will definitely be back!"

Katherine C. "TL;DR - amazing food and service, especially for celiac or gluten sensitive patrons. If I had guided myself by the Yelp rating I may have skipped this place, but I'm glad we went by Google instead. A lot of the complaints I saw in reviews below about having to pay for parking or other comments that were not necessarily up to the restaurant felt unfair and not an accurate reflection of the experience here. My friend found this place while searching for gluten free options for our weekend in San Antonio, and the food and service were both so great that we went back for more on our second day in town. On our first visit we had Chris take care of us. We started with the quail-wrapped bacon appetizer and the truffle fries, and we ordered the salmon and the pollo norteño for our entrees. We went after 2pm, so the happy hour was in place and we also ordered 2 of their happy hour margaritas. The margaritas were the only not great part of our meal, but they were fine. We both finished the apps and entrees and everything was beyond flavorful and delicious. Chris was a wonderful server as well. We sat inside and it was great! So we agreed to go back for round 2. I'm very sorry I can't remember the name of our server for day 2, but he was absolutely wonderful as well. This time we sat outside. Having celiac usually limits the options I can have at most places, but I had the wonderful problem of not knowing what to choose here! So I asked our server for his recommendation between the burger and the lunch specials, all of which sounded great. He mentioned that the burger had won first place during a contest a few months before, and so my friend and I both ordered it (hers with a regular bun, mine GF) and WOW! No wonder it won the contest, there are so many wonderful flavors blended in there and they're so unexpected. We also repeated the quail and truffle fries and were equally delighted by all of it. The truffle fries were so crunchy and delicious, it was inevitable to finish the bowl. For day's 2 drink I went with their version of a Sidecar, which was nothing like a standard one, but still really enjoyed it. All in all, we came here for 2/3 days in town and I'd go back in a heartbeat for our next visit to San Antonio. The food, the service, and the ambiance. All 10/10!"

Autumn S. "I have been thinking of this restaurant for a while - we finally had time and a reason to drive across town to enjoy my Birthday! When we checked in they didn't have our reservation - I thought this would throw the whole night off, but the hostess made it happen and seated us right away. Our server Dan was awesome - perfect suggestions (we took them all) timing and attention. I am picky, I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for 15years and know what great food should be. Explaining everything from the history of the location and the awesome wood burning pizza ovens imported from Italy! The atmosphere was very Italian - I lived there for a few years. The tables are very close but that helps keep the conversation intimate and personal. I would dine here again - must try the pizza next time"

Scott B. "We had a really nice dinner at Gruene River Grill. Dining out on the patio with beautiful hill country weather provided a nice dining out experience in New Braunfels. The Jalapeño Crawfish Chowder was the best appetizer I have had in a while. The Country Fried Chicken was delicious. Great meal & nice patio dining. They were out of all the dark beer they listed on their current menu. Hopefully they restock soon or modify their offerings. The service was fantastic from being seated quickly, ordering and receiving our meal. Definitely coming back while the weather is perfect for outdoor patio dining in Texas."

Bailey R. "We had an AMAZING experience here! My fiancé and I made a last minute reservation for a late lunch after finishing up at my bridal makeup trial. My birthday is on Christmas Day so we decided to make this my "birthday lunch". I'm glad we did because they made this such a wonderful experience for me! First, they placed a white table cloth on top of the last open table that was facing the river front. Ours was the only table like this so I know they did this to make it special for me. Plus, they added a cute poinsettia plant and left a little birthday card on the table too. It was so nice! The service was great and our server was not only friendly, but he was down to earth. He started his spiel about the shrimp pasta and I cut him off, telling him, "let me save you some time - we're vegetarian". To which he chuckled and thanked us for informing him so he could cut right to the chase. I got my favorite Italian dish - the Eggplant Parmigiana and it was the perfect amount of thin and crispy for me. Absolutely loved it! Before bringing us the check, he brought a complimentary slice of tiramisu cake complete with a candle and "happy birthday" sign to celebrate my birthday. We loved and appreciated this gesture so much! Also, the tiramisu was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS - I definitely recommend trying it out!! Thank you, Paesanos, for an incredible birthday experience! Next time we make it back to Aan Antonio, we'll be back to see you!"
