"Everything was phenomenal. We had to either wait an hour and 15 minutes for a reservation, find seats at the bar or leave. We luckily found seats at the bar and are so glad we stayed. Friday lunch time was extremely busy. It seems like everyone was there for the pork chop special. We ordered lobster Mac and cheese, a caramelized prime rib, the thickest pork chop known to man and cherries jubilee chocolate cake. It was pricy, but it was my birthday lunch so a splurge every now and then is good. We were thoroughly impressed, everything was delicious and we plan to go back for the next special occasion."
"My husband and I had lunch at the Grill this afternoon. We ordered the queso appetizer. Unfortunately, the queso came out cold. We returned it for another. Our lunch came out before the new queso came back. We ask our waiter to take the queso off of our bill. He was professional and honored our request. After our meal, the general managers approached our table to apologize for the cold food. They were so lovely and apologetic about the food. We told them it was no problem. The GMs gave us a voucher for a free lunch and apologized again. I left a nice review when we paid. About 10 minutes later, the catering manager called to apologize. We enjoy the food and ambiance at the restaurant. We are repeat customers. However, the customer service response to a cold queso was so nice. They went out of their way to ensure they kept a customer. While we missed out on queso, we will return for the customer service."

"This place was excellent! The table salsa is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Usually I end up asking for something spicier but this stuff was perfect. Not a standard tomato based sauce, tasted like chile de arbol which was confirmed by the waiter. Quite good. The only tragedy was that the chips were not good, that salsa deserves better!I also got the birria soup and it was top notch. The waiter mentioned that it was sort of spicy but I didn't get that at all. Big chunks of mutton and the broth was perfect. I'd eat it every night and twice on tuesdays. If they offered a ramen version of this I'd be in heaven. I stay at the hotel nearby pretty regularly so this place will be on my return list!"
"My favorite buffet! The price is usually around $14 and food is fresh and hot. I've gone to dine in and take out and they even give extra containers. I love the chicken saagwala, samosas and there's also one that has mushrooms and is my favorite!"
"My family and I decided to give this restaurant a second chance. As an appetizer we got the calamari. It was chewy but it was served with slices of tomato, cucumbers, and a home made sauce. I was looking for something small and thought the shrimp salad would fit the bill. But it was huge! I took three quarters of it home. It was yummy though. I probably won't order it again unless someone will split it with me. My other family members ordered the fish and shrimp plate. It looked delicious and I will be getting that next time. The place was nicely decorated and the staff were friendly. I will say there was a language barrier it we worked through it."
"OMG! This was so delicious! Have you ever heard of avocado butter sauce? Well I will never forget it it was soooo good! My steak was so tender I cut it with my fork! My husband had the shrimp and red fish stuffed with lobster and Veracruz sauce. Not one drop was left on his plate. The tres leches and flan were to die for. Please go, you won't regret it. Our bill was about $50 plus tip."
"It was a good experience. The service was great and the food was okay. The star of the show were the fresh dinner roles, but everything else was just okay. The ambiance is a little bit of a Time Machine warp of the 70s but it was tidy. Wouldn't know if I'd go back, but glad we tried it out. The salad wasn't too fresh and my steak was cold, but my son was enjoyed his grilled cheese."
"Little Italy is definitely the best Italian restaurant in San Antonio. The ministroni soup is the best I have ever had. The red gravy is very good as is everything I have ever eaten there."
"I was interested to see if there any more Restaurant Week places we could check out and the menu for @luceristorante piqued my interest. Hubby agreed when he took a look as well. I made reservations through Open Table for dinner tonight. We found out that the prix fixe menu is part of their regular offering. Included is a glass of sparkling wine, pinot noir or chardonnay. Hubby and I both chose pinot noir and it's really smooth. Dad and I shared the Ravioli al Quattro Formaggi/Cheese Ravioli, and Pan-Seared Sea Bass, Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto. Hubby had the Gamberi al Limone/Sauteed Shrimp, and Linguine Mare Chiaro/Pasta with seafood. We all shared the Creme Brulee and Tiramisu. The portions are pretty generous that hubby wasn't able to finish his pasta dish. It was a pleasure meeting owner and chef Joe Buonincontri. He's been blessed with running @luceristorante for 18 years! I'm looking forward to warmer weather and sitting in their outdoor patio. We were noticing that several tables ordered their pizza so we might try that the next time.If you haven't tried @luceristorante, add it to your list to check out!"
"The bobba tea is worth it and the staff is what makes me want to Come back, they are amazing, the place is clean and I love the atmosphere, the food is delish"
"Earlier this week, we went to @smashincrab Stone Oak for dinner. Happy hour with food and drinks end at 6pm on weekdays.Dad and hubby had their flavored Lemonade, and I had the Signature Margarita on happy hour. Dad and hubby shared a bowl of Clam Chowder. Dad had the Cod Fish & Chips. Hubby had the Crawfish Etouffee. I had the Lobster Roll with Onion Rings instead of the cajun fries. There was much lobster on that roll. The food was pretty good and Jennifer was an attentive server. Overall, 5 stars."
"I've put off this review for 3 visits now. These photos are from my very last visit to Umiya. Food wise, this place has only gotten better with each visit. Wonderful rolls with wild flavors, interesting and unique textures. My fiancé and I have no issues with the food service, it's extremely fast and always the right temperature. The restaurant is beautiful inside, very pretty decor! Here's my issue: customer service. Every time we have gone, there is some odd issue with one of the wait staff. The first visit was a young guy my age (mid 20's) who said the kitchen cook didn't like him which is why our food wasn't good, and would talk to us for upwards of 20 minutes about the issue every visit. Our 2nd visit was fine, waitress was fast and came around to take orders often. 3rd visit, just rude. Came up to our table and asked "what do you want" multiple times, never refilled drinks, barely let us finish talking, let alone eat. Every time my fiancé and I were in the middle of eating she'd come around and just stand at our table end and wait. We also got sat in a room where our table was the only one our waitress came to, and we're unsure why we got sat there. Empty restaurant and got sat next to a large group of rowdy men. We are thinking this was our last visit to the restaurant physically. If you're thinking of eating here, just get it to go."

Always a guaranteed good time. The food consistently exceeds expectations and I can say the same for the service. The ambiance is flexible and is perfect for family dinner as well as date nights. Recommend: calamari, beef and bleu, steak and tots, spinach and artichoke dip, scallop pasta, any of the burgers, chopped salad w/salmon, and of course the pork chop!

Great spot! I had been here some time ago and can't believe I forgot about this gem. The waiter was very friendly and speedy. He checked on us the appropriate amount of times and the food, as usual, was delicious! I love their corn on the cob the way it's seasoned and the panchos were enormous. Way bigger than most spots I go to. Very generous portions at this spot and a wonderful happy hour as well as reverse happy hour.

Guajillos is easily my family's favorite spot in San Antonio for some authentic Mexican food. Their food is always fresh and the taste of everything is so consistent. The gringa, pozole, and tacos de pastor are a few of our favorite dishes. The michelada has the perfect flavor and reminds me of my first trip to Mexico. The service is always quick and the servers are always so friendly and attentive. You can tell the people who run this business are about their employees and the quality of their food. The ambiance is chill and low key so you don't have be dressed up to eat here which I like. If you're looking for somewhere to eat in San Antonio that is authentic and has great quality food Guajillos is the place to visit.

We came here on 02.18.24 for the first time - I had been wanting to come here for years after being told about it by a friend. This location (one of three) is in a nice Hill Country setting, dirt parking lot and oak trees included. On a Sunday, we found a crowd. Benches are all along the covered porch, in anticipation of lines. We walked into an enormous dining area packed to the gills with people. I mean, PACKED. The place was hopping! After intense review of the insanely populated menu, our amazing and super friendly server took our order of fried calamari and two large seafood cocktails. The fried calamari was good but a little dry. It came with a delicious house-made hot sauce and seasoned cucumbers and tomatoes. My date had the large shrimp cocktail and I had the large shrimp and octopus cocktail. You definitely get what you pay for with these. They were enormous and packed full of seafood, as well as pico de gallo and a tasty cocktail sauce. We barely could finish these - actually, I finished mine and there was plenty left of the other cocktail. Every dish we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, and that the place was as crowded as it was with locals, that said a lot. For the food, that there was so much that sounded good, and for the five-star service, we are definitely wanting more visits in the future.

Hadn't been in a couple year. I was glad to see the Resturant completely full. There is no finer service in any restaurant in San Antonio. I miss Ernesto but his sons do him proud. I've been a fan for over 40 years

I'm in San Antonio on a temporary assignment, and I was tasked to find a good spot for dinner with a couple of co-workers, one of whom had to depart early. Not knowing if I would ever see them in person again after this trip, I had to be selective in deciding how best to bid farewell to him, at least for the time being. We had agreed on a nice steak dinner, but left the decision up to me on where to go.I'll be honest here, I was actually looking at a couple of Brazilian steakhouses by the Riverwalk, but as luck would have it, neither had reservations available for that night. I frantically searched online to find the best spot for all three of us, and I chose The Barn Door right off the 410 loop east of the 281. One of my Yelp friends from San Antonio awarded it five stars, and there was also a Yelp check-in offer of a free tea. Also, the prices seemed pretty reasonable, especially compared to other steakhouses in the Alamo City.Reservations were available that night for time slots at 15-minute increments, but oddly enough, not at 7 PM, our agreed upon time. We then agreed 6:45 PM was a good time for dinner, and so I made the reservation, which was done through SpotOn.Two of us arrived at 6:30 PM, and the hostess was willing to seat us even though the third person (not me lol) was a little late. We chose to wait, and then once he arrived, we were taken to our table in the Main Dining room.We were sat at a table between the open kitchen and a wall, which almost looked like a jail. Jewel (sp?) came by to introduce herself as our server. She was just that, a jewel! She did seem a little bashful since it was kind of hard to hear her, but it was only moderately loud at best during our visit, so it wasn't much hard of hearing here. Other than that, I enjoyed having her take good care of us!She started us off with drinks, and that's when I realized I had to check in to show her my Yelp check-in offer. She didn't recognize it at first, and then I had to tell her. I almost thought she was going to charge me for the tea, but luckily she didn't.Each of us chose an appetizer to share with one another. The others chose Fried Mushrooms and Fried Jalapenos. I chose the Wild Boar and Venison Sausages. Each of them came with their own sauce(s), and they were all good! It's worth mentioning there are nuances in the taste profile between Wild Boar and Venison, but they look so similar that even Jewel couldn't tell which was which. Did we care? No. Did we enjoy them? Yes!The others chose the Club Sirloin and Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin Filet as their entrees, both cooked Medium. I went with the 10 oz New York Strip, cooked Medium Well. I think my steak was a little undercooked, but I liked it better than the Ribeye I had at my hotel, which cost more than twice as much!As we were ordering, I didn't realize our entrees would come with a house or Caesar salad as well as a potato side. I had completely overlooked the bottom of the menu specifying that. There weren't that many choices for the potato side. One co-worker chose the mashed potatoes. The other chose the twice baked potato. I went with the (once) baked potato. Jewel asked if I'd like for it to be loaded, to which I answered affirmatively. For the salad, you get a choice of 5-6 dressings. I almost went with my go to, Honey Mustard, until Jewel mentioned there was Creamy Garlic, which sounded delish. And it was! The amount of dressing was pretty generous, and it was a generously-sized salad, much larger than a side salad!I enjoyed the (once) baked potato, which was loaded, but not fully loaded compared to the twice baked. The twice baked had more cheese, and I believe it also had jalapenos, which I didn't taste in my potato. However, there's a small upcharge for the twice baked; I don't recall how much of an upcharge it was.Everything was superb! There wasn't a bad bite that was had amongst the three of us. We had quite a bit of leftovers, and Jewel offered us takeout boxes and bags for each of us.We all enjoyed our meals, and both of my co-workers agreed I made a good choice for dinner that night. None of us had room for dessert, but I didn't want any anyways. Plus, the prices for the desserts weren't even shown on the menu, which I'm not sure why? A Southern Peach Cobbler would have hit the spot, but our appetites were more than satiated on this wonderful evening. In addition to the actual restaurant, there's a meat market as alluded to in the business name, but it was slim pickings at the time we went, at least for the display case out in front. Same with the desserts. We only saw a couple of pies and a cheesecake when we left. The interior decor is really nice! We appreciated how nicely decorated the interior was, and we were even in awe at a portrait of the restaurant from 1953!Thank you Barn Door for a wonderful dinner, and thank you Jewel for the wonderful service and hospitality! Keep up the great work Jewel! :)

Food was delicious and portions Huge!! Our server Jarrod was great!!! He was on top of everything. Drinks were refilled without asking, plates were picked promptly after we were done with our Food. The ambiance was very cozy and it was not loud in the restaurant which made conversation across the table very easy! Food , wine , dessert and Coffee options are great!

"My husband and I have been to Paesanos several times, but we recently went to check out happy hour. We especially appreciated that all of the drinks are made with fresh ingredients and house made syrups. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed talking with the friendly bartender, Claire. The bar area is small, but cozy. It's a great spot for happy hour appetizers and drinks."
"Beautiful restaurant! So much color and culture. Great music playing. Plenty of room for large parties! It's huge! The food and service is even better. Our waiter was really funny and sweet. Great experience! Their adult beverages are yummy too!"
"I can't say enough good things about this place! Wow the vibe was intimate but still so fun and the food was too reasonably priced bc it's so much for the price and the flavor wow. Im ofc Hispanic lived in Mexico for a while and I go back and forth and for me to praise mariscos in SA oof. The service is great! Fernando was an excellent server, super efficient, friendly and informative. Please give it a try but head the warning that if the server says it's spicy it's actually spicy!"
"Fast Service, Good Food and Great Micheladas! Their miches remind me of Mexico, so bomb! The place is very big and they have outside sitting and two bars, I went during the week so it was very chill but I'm sure on the weekend it gets packed and a good time. Employees were very nice! Prices are really good and plates are big and packed. Can't wait to be back during the weekend to see the vibes"
"My husband had had lunch in this tiny little restaurant with coworkers a few weeks back. So on our Friday night date night that's where we headed. We didn't have reservations ( they do recommend) but we happen to get there at just the right time when there were only two tables occupied. We were sat down rather quickly and put our order in. We ordered the garlic cheese bread for the appetizer and it was just enough for two people. I tried their chicken francese and my husband ordered the salmon Florentino. Both plates came wonderfully presented. I was pleased that there wasn't so much food as to take home although I know Italians love to feed people! My husband and I will definitely be back and we'll make sure that we have reservations; the restaurant got full rather quickly which isn't hard because I believe there are only about 10-12 tables total."
"Food was amazing! Very flavorful honestly on my list now! Service was good nice waiter very attentive and helpful with the recommendation! I got pasta and pizza so yummy!"
"Took my parents here for dinner because I wanted to treat them out. The food here was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the 8oz and 10oz medium-rare filet mignon and the steak was cooked to perfection. The meat was so tender that it basically melts in your mouth. The baked potato was to die for. We also got the lobster risotto, which was one of the creamiest risotto I ever had. Great infusion of lobster flavor as well. They also did not cop out on the amount of lobster in the risotto. We finished the dinner off with pecan pie along with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream. My mom also ordered the seafood salad and let's just say they were also very generous with the portion of seafood in her salad. Overall, each dish was pricy (but reasonable for a mid upper scale steakhouse), but the portion sizes were excellent. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a upper scale dinner relative to what you normally eat. Parking was super easy. The restaurant is located in a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces."
"Family friendly. Big choice of meals. Quick service Good home style food. I would recommend this restaurant."
"The restaurant itself is small and you seat yourself. The food here is fresh and full of flavor. Service was great! They didn't have alcohol listed on their menu, but they do offer it. Ordered the tostada sinaloa and quite delicious! A mix of octopus, shrimp , and fish. The chicken flautas were also good, and not greasy! Their rice and beans reminded me of how my mother makes them. So tasty! They did provide extra sauce in small containers, but they weren't as spicy as I anticipated. The green salsa was the spiciest, which we loved! Will definitely be coming back!"
"The service by Vianey was superb and the food was delicious. The catfish and shrimp were perfect and the Eggplant Bayou was awesome. The restaurant is undergoing renovation but it's worth it to stop as the ambiance is great."
"Could not ask for better service from Matt. He was running around all over the place and helping multiple tables. His recommendation for the dirty rice was great. Great service from Matt!!!!!! We would return for his customer service."
"We have been going to Silo for many years... Food is consistently delicious and the service is always fabulous. Jonah has seen us several times, and he always remembers us. Being on the terrace is always a treat. The outdoor bar is like a garden retreat. Inside the restaurant, it's very streamlined, minimalist and hipster. Go here if you want some fresh delicious seafood, pasta, chicken, or a delicious burger during lunchtime. It's very affordable at that time. I've never eaten there at dinner because it's a little bit pricey, but I hope to try it one day. For now, I will stick to lunch."
"Wow! Everything was flavorful and fresh! We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day. Must have the carne asada nacho fries and the elote bowl with fish."
"Was my first time dining in during lunch time since I had been craving Chinese and was in the area. It's been roughly 2 months and I can't stop thinking about the food, it was so delicious we got 3 different entrees mine was sesame chicken and hot n spicy soup OMG it was the best!! The chicken was so tender and the crispy outer of each chicken was perfect and not to mention the service is on point. It's about 20min away from me and I'm a bad exit Blanco but I am going every time I am craving Chinese food from now on. Keep up the great work ;)"
"Perfect perfect place for some YUMMY and FRESH pasta. We sat at a high top table next to the bar, got waters and they gave us some fresh bread with seasoned olive oil while we looked at the menu. There was about 6 other occupied tables, and they had some games playing on the 3 TV's they have.I ordered the Linguini Prosciutto and had 2 glasses of white wine. The pasta was amazing, it was literally STEAMING, that's how fresh it was. They give a great amount, I ended up taking more than half of it home for leftovers. Our server seemed to be the manager for that evening I believe, either way he was so great and attentive!"
"The service was great! Unfortunately, the food was lacking. I ordered small steak tenderloins. There were three of them and they all were overcooked. Even my mashed potatoes were greasy and dripping in oil. My spouse had the Diablo red fish and it was so salty and over spiced he could not finish it. The staff was really amazing. They tried to fix things as it happened but the night was lost to us and when the bill is over 200$ you expect to be able to rave about one thing"
"hubbie had tried ilsong garden & wanted to take me.we both enjoy korean bbq & have tried several places around town.we were a bit confused about the grill tables. apparently they are only available for all you can eat. some places let you order portions of meat & let you grill it.deciding we werent hungry enough for AYCE ($38), hubbie ordered hot stone pot bibimbap ($15) and i got the beef bulgogi ($24). we started with steamed yaki mandu ($8)- they also offer it deep fried or pan fried. they were very good, and i enjoyed them steamed as we usually get pan fried.muchim is almost more important to me than the meat! i love the radishes & cucumbers the most, followed by potatoes.i liked that the veggies are served as all you care to eat salad bar style. i like some radish or cucumber with each bite of bulgogi. so it was nice to serve myself.hubbie declared his meal delicious and mine was flavorful & tender. portions were very generous, im pretty sure myleftover bulgogi will feed us both! it was 7:00 on a sunday, so not too many people there, but service was fast & friendly.i did notice lunch specials were available during the week."
"I'm usually not the type to enjoy in seafood boils, but if they were all as good as Surfing Crab, I think I'd indulge more often. I really enjoyed how fresh my seafood was, the seasoning, and the hearty portions for each item ordered. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they've done a good job with the layout, the cleanliness, and even the semi-cheesy decor (#1). It's a place that is casual enough for a messy date night, group dining affair and extremely family friendlyThe spread of everything from clams to shrimp to crawfish and calamari is impressive. My favorite item would have to be the snow crabs and each leg was filled with copious amounts of meat. Even the crawfish was on point, even if it's not in season. Their non-boil items, such as the shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp, and oysters were also surprisingly good. I think if I'm to go back, I'll be ordering everything from their clams to even the spicy edamame.Service has their moments and I think the prices are about average for a place like this. Seafood isn't going to be cheap, but I wouldn't hesitate about coming back here to feast and preferably in a large group of hungry companions.____________(#1) Giant crab and Captain Jack Sparrow? Yes."
"My friend and I were craving crawfish and decided to eat them before the harvest season is over. It was a bit of long drive for us, but we were satisfied with crawfish and glad to come here. I chose the original sauce. It was perfect. My friend ordered "unique", but it was too salty for her, but the waitress helped her nicely and she got new sauce, which was "garlic and butter ". She liked her second sauce a lot. Especially she enjoyed her additional noodles in the sauce. My friend was saying that this is the best place to eat crawfish in town, and I agreed. We also enjoyed happy hour menu; calamari and beer. There are lots of tables and it seems like they can easily serve a large family. Our waitress was very attentive and caring. Next time I'd like to try crab, shrimp and scallops. And of course I'll be back for crawfish when it's season!"
"The half shell raw oysters were so delicious and fresh!!! My friend and I had literally 24! 2Dozen !!! of oysters!!! Service at the time we went ,kinda went right at closing time ,the man was pretty amazing! and we sat outside ONLY TWO PEOPLE! It was fun! totally recommend!"
"Gael M was outstanding. Went with my mom and he took great care of us. Love this place and the atmosphere is so cozy. 10/10. Oh and the enchiladas are to die for."
"Food is really good. The ambiance was cool. A group of musicians were playing live music on the Friday I was there."
"Came here for dinner with a friend earlier this week. I don't have too much to say about the ambiance - it felt like your average Chinese restaurant. The menus were nice, though. Thoroughly bound and hefty. The two ladies at the cash out were super friendly, and were kind enough to seat me while I waited for my friend to arrive. We ordered the Lovers Beef (a cold, refreshing appetizer), the Xialongbao (wrapper had good chew, filling was nicely flavored - wish it had a bit more brothy-ness on the inside), what I think was the Sweet Garlic Beef (It was spicy and had lots of garlic flavor), and the Dongpo Pork (tender, delicious, sweet). My choices (xialongbao and dongpo pork) were excellent. The pork belly in particular was probably my favorite dish of the evening. It had a sweet, stick sauce and came semi-pre-sliced. Sliced enough to cut tender pieces of it with a spoon. In short, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed everything we ordered.Would I come back? Maybe. Would I order for delivery? Absolutely."
