"Inconsistent Experience--Great First Visit, but Disappointing ReturnWe visited twice in one week, and the experiences couldn't have been more different. Our first visit was easily 4/5 stars--the burger and fries were , perfectly cooked, and super satisfying.Unfortunately, our second visit was a major letdown. The multiple appetizers we ordered were soaked and soggy with grease, making them hard to enjoy. The fries, which were amazing the first time, were SUPER salty this time around--a complete 180 from what we had before. And the brisket egg rolls? Honestly, they shouldn't be a thing. The flavors just didn't work at all. It's a shame because we had high hopes after our first visit, but the inconsistency really stood out on the second trip."

"The food here is so simple but so soooo good. The onion soup was the perfect amount of salty oniony cheesey warm goodness. The croissants taste made with care and love. The little profiteroles at the end just finished the meal with a sweet little unexpected touch. Absolutely will be back we adore this place."

"My friend Miranda invited me out to lunch. She asked me what we should so naturally, I Yelped places. Pam's came up as a perfect lunch spot located between both our areas. I sent you the link and she said let's do it. When I arrived in our scorching hot weather it was nice to walk into a cool place. We ere created by the host and seated promptly. The place had a nice, clean, cozy feeling. They had a plenty of options that meet my needs. I ordered the veggie club special with water since it was hot. My husband ordered the bean and cheese chalupa with an unsweetened tea. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. Our food was delicious!! The salsa was the best I have ever had! It had such a spicy kick that I craved more. Let's say it cleared out my sinuses. Everything looked and tasted great! When I saw fruit with my meal I was expecting a small mix of assorted fruit. You know mango, grapes, strawberries. They gave me a small slice of an orange. I also had a dill pickle spear which was nice.Overall, I would definitely recommend. The ingredients are fresh and the quality definitely matches the price. My husbands chalupa looked good so next time I want that. If you're in the area give this place a try. It's a nice place to cool off and have a nice meal that doesn't leave you bloated."

"Bilia Eatery is a true San Antonio gem and one of my favorite lunch spots in the city! This amazing restaurant specializes in a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes inspired by wide variety of latin american countries. Everything is fresh and made to order, and they also have seasonal dishes that are a must! I think their best seller and my favorite dish is their cuban sandwich. It is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! If you are not in the mood of a sandwich then I recommend their steak salad. It is the best steak salad you can find in the city and the flavors of the meat they use are insane! If you are planning to visit them during a weekday try to get here before or after the lunch rush. They do tend to get pretty busy, but they do their best to get all dishes out as quickly as possible. They also have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which I am sure will be pretty nice in the fall. Overall, this place is 10/10 in my book and I hope everyone gives them a chance!"

"Review # 400, and I'm so glad it is for an outstanding place! My wife was having dental work nearby and one of the dental assistants recommended this place. I looked on Yelp and found out that I had bookmarked this place some time ago as one of the places I needed to try. This place was in the extended shopping center we were in, and we decided to drive to it as it was so hot. Finding it, we found a nearby parking spot in the shade and took it. We arrived a little early, so there was not a crowd (that changed considerably before we left).Walking in, we found a few tables were taken, but that nearly all in the overflow area were empty. We only had 1 couple in front of us waiting in line so that gave us time to look at the menu that is on the wall. We decided what we wanted by the time the other couple had ordered. The help was so nice and knowledgeable and helped us with ordering. She also was quick to tell us about how they grind the meat daily, made their own chips daily, and in fact just about everything was made in house daily. While we were talking with her a young man walked up behind the counter. It turned out he was the owner's son, and he was so friendly. We paid for our order and went and got a table in the overflow area. It was not long until the food arrived. It was just as we ordered, hot, juicy, and so very tasty. The burgers were cooked to order, the chips were amazing, and the side order of fries were great. Everything was seasoned so well, just like I would have done it at home:)Talk about service. While we were eating a young lady came to check on our food. After a while, the owner's son came to check on us. Finally, the owner came around to check on us. Amazing!!! The owner actually spent quite a while with us talking and told us his story about how the restaurant came to be. Such a nice man, and in fact, they all were. Will I return? A definite yes. I will go out of my way to eat here again."

"I don't usually eat Texas barbecue but when in Texas I have to and let me tell you Black's Barbecue did not disappoint! We got the fatty beef brisket, jalapeno-cheese sausage and pork spare ribs to share. Everything was soo tender, juicy and just so good! For sides we got the potato salad, mac and cheese and cream corn. The sides went perfectly with the meat. I also love how you can grab your own onions, pickles and bread because I'm an onion girlie and need a whole lot haha. The workers were very welcoming and friendly and it's a big place with a nice and chill vibe. I know there's many barbecue places here in Texas but I think Black's Barbeque is definitely worth a try!"

"Was out and about in the Broadway area and my friend recommended we eat here. It's a small family owned deli restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Cesar Wrap. I chose the baked potato soup for the side. It was a good portion for the price. The sandwich was good and fresh. The soup was creamy. All staff were really friendly from the lady who took our order at the register to the gentlemen who picked up our plates. I checked in on Yelp and received a free cookie so make sure you check in on the app."

"*no pics because I was too hungry to bother* We stopped by Sandwich de Paris (SDP) after a medical appointment and were pleasantly surprised with our experience. The cafe is located off of Louis Pasteur in the medical center area. There's plenty of parking, though the parking lot did seem crowded during the lunch hour when we went. It seems like employees no longer bother to greet customers these days, so the hearty welcome we received--complete with a detailed explanation of the menu and specials--was a nice change of pace. Throughout our visit, the employee taking care of the front of the house cleaned, bussed tables, and engaged everyone who walked in or out of the restaurant, asking everyone how they enjoyed their food. The same employee took our order and was still courteous, personable, and authentically engaging. You could tell he enjoyed being there and assisting customers. My husband ordered the Tribbiani wrap, which was their special, with butternut squash soup. He devoured the wrap (loaded with three types of deli meat) and the soup in record time. He did say that the butternut squash soup tasted more like chicken stock than anything, but it may have been an ingredient he couldn't identify. He enjoyed it regardless. I ordered the tsukemono sandwich with a side salad dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. The grilled sirloin was tossed in a soy marinade and was tender and juicy. The meat was topped with tomato, cilantro, pickled veggies, red onion and aioli on a soft baguette. I asked for an additional cup of pickled veggies because I felt the sandwich needed some acidity to balance the sweetness of the marinade on the meat and the aioli. I would love to see the option to add thinly sliced jalapeños or maybe a kimchi option (though I know I'm venturing into another cuisine with that suggestion). Maybe add some heat in the form of chili sauce or toss the pickled veggies in nuoc cham to stay true to the overall vibe of the sandwich. The balsamic vinaigrette on my salad was too thick and sweet for my preference. I would prefer a thinner vinaigrette with more balsamic. It leaned more towards a ranch or Caesar dressing thickness and less towards a vinaigrette consistency. This hearty lunch for two (with bottles of TopoChico and Fanta) was around $30 with a tip. I highly recommend SDP if you're in the area, and even if you're not in the area, I recommend swinging by to check out their food. In a day when customer service and good food in a clean establishment are few and far between, this gem needs to be appreciated and supported."

Friendly staff. Absolutely the best torta I've ever eaten. My husband got the tacos with the crunch. I loved the bread and bought 2 extra to take home. Chef should bottle the torta sauce. It was outstanding. Will be back.

Cute little shop with a big menu. Went straight for bahn mi and a side of French onion soup. Going to come back and try the meatball sandwich next time. Looks like 2 employees keeping the place going on Saturday and very sweet. Of all the options to eat at in this one strip center, I'm very glad of my choice!

I am embarrassed at how long it took me to try Bilia, seeing as how I live so close. It is such a cute place, modern with accents of traditional Mexican decor. It reminds me of one the quaint little brunch places in Mexico City. Walk in to place an order at the counter, the guy there was super nice and helpful with answering questions I had about the menu. There are laminated menus there for you to grab and study if you need to. I went with the barbacoa grilled cheese which comes with a side of fries. My husband ordered the Peruvian chicken. We went outside to grab a table since it was such a nice day. It didn't take long before someone was out with our food. First off, that barbacoa grilled cheese STILL haunts my dreams weeks later! It was so flavorful without being overwhelming. I ate slowly because I didn't want it to end. The fries were excellent too. I just got the regular ones, not the yucca. I've noticed that in other restaurants, when fries come as a side, they're kind of phoned in and taste a bit bland or plain. These were seasoned with, I don't know what, but they were so good! There was not a single crumb left on my plate. My husband really enjoyed his Peruvian grilled chicken as well. Though I can't even speak for it because we were both so immersed in our own meals that we didn't get to taste each other's dishes as we usually do. It looked amazing and fresh! We will definitely return!!

The service was great! This place honestly just reminds me of grandmas house growing up. Cute little homey atmosphere. Our food was a little subpar- but I don't think people really come here for the food. They come here for the comfort and welcoming feeling from all of the staff. All of the elderly people around us were greeted with warm smiles & hugs, almost like they were family and it made my heart so warm and fuzzy. I would recommend this restaurant just for that feeling alone! I love it!

Everything was on point at this place around lunch time. Friendly staff and multiple follow ups to the table to ensure everything was good. The salad itself was pretty good. If you like more dressing on your salad I would recommend another container. The dressing was thick which made it hard to spread on the salad, however it was very flavorful and one of the better Caesar dressings I have had. The Brussels sprouts give a nice crispness to it and the sliced avocado goes over the top. The presentation of the salad was good as well. Ambiance inside was rather chill as only 12 people in before noon. I forgot about their Stubborn sodas and regret not getting a soda. Very impressed and they have a rewards card as well. I haven't posted a food review here in a while but this made me want to that much.

If you're craving some seriously good Texas BBQ, Black's BBQ is the place to go. This spot has been around for ages and it shows--they've mastered the art of smoking meat. The brisket is always on point--super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The pork ribs are just as good, with that perfect, melt-off-the-bone texture. The sides are solid, too. Whether it's the creamy mac and cheese, tasty potato salad, or the tangy coleslaw, they've got the perfect balance to go with all that meaty goodness.Black's BBQ is great for families, locals, and tourists alike. It's got that laid-back vibe where you know the food is going to be great every time. If you're in the area, definitely check it out--you can't go wrong.

"Best BBQ in New Braunfels area- A Must-Try!We moved to the area seven months ago, eager to experience authentic Texas BBQ. Unfortunately, our experiences have mostly been disappointing, with places often serving BBQ that's too salty, dry, overpriced, or lacking in seasoning. We tried the 5 top-rated BBQ joints in New Braunfels area, but none compared to Bare Bull BBQ.Bare Bull BBQ is a true smokehouse! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of wood fire sets the tone for an amazing meal. The atmosphere is family-friendly and welcoming. We ordered the three-meat sampler, which included brisket, burnt ends, and chicken, while my husband opted for the brisket sandwich. Every bite was delicious--the meat was juicy with perfect bark marks. The sides were equally impressive, and the meal was perfectly finished with their banana pudding. What's more, the prices are incredibly reasonable--half the cost of Black's BBQ. Bare Bull BBQ has definitely earned our business, and we will be back!Photos doesn't do any justice, just go try it!"

"LOVE this bbq. The brisket, the ribs, and most of the sides are on point. Pro tip: Jalapeño/cheddar sausage isn't on the menu but they serve it until they run out. Try the sweet potato side and the mac n cheese. while the mac is a little peppery it's delicious."

"10/10 beef Philly cheesesteak10/10 crinkled fries8/10 funnel cake friesI was putting in an order for another one of my favorite cheesesteak places when a coworker of mine recommended this place. Since I didn't have anything scheduled around lunch time I drove out this way. They have a very small menu but all I can say is wow. I do a lot of traveling and every site I manage, has a restaurant that I designate. This place is now my official Cibolo area restaurant. The beef cheesesteak had lots of flavor. The white American cheese added the extra salt that I'm always looking for. I was a little disappointed in my onions not being grilled a little longer. I had several bites of raw crunchy onion. The bread was AMAZING. Fresh, soft on the inside and sturdy enough not to fall apart with the meat. The crinkled fries stayed crunchy to the last piece. I also really enjoyed the funnel cake fries. The place is small, had about 6 2 seat tables and about 6 more 4 seat tables. No table service, you order at counter and go up to pick up your order"

""We had the steak omelette, and it was absolutely delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly--tender and flavorful--and paired beautifully with the fluffy, well-seasoned steak so much flavor. Highly recommend this place & the atmosphere was amazing!"

"Upon entering, I thought this is such a cute little New York was pretty clean however employees could've been clean tables floor. I was greeted by the cashier young lady who was nice. She did have an AirPod AirPod in her ear which I thought that was a bit unprofessional and she came out from kitchen area wearing black gloves. She touched the registered took my cash money and went back into the back. That is a huge concern however I normally just pray over my food and hope for the best. I ordered the lunch special for about $11 got two large slices of pizza one with spinach and mushrooms the other with pepperoni and sausage! The pizza was delicious! Definitely NY style and I do recommend this place overall. To management I would recommend additional training in cross contamination, professionalism and find something for the workers to do besides on their phone. I also like the tea selection. The arcade games add a cute nostalgic vibe to the place."

"Just a quick review of our first ever visit to a gourmet (but casual!) Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich shop!It is located upstairs at the end of a nice area, with shops in old rail cars to two story music buildings. It doesn't look it from the outside, but when you get inside, it kind of feels like an old house. It's a nice vibe. Even nicer was the owner and team, as they chatted with us (even finding some military music commonalities!) and helped us pick. I had an outstanding "Elvis." Peanut butter, banana, bacon and a choice of jelly (I got jalapeño strawberry, lol!). Wife got a "Rocky Road" and our son got a custom job with... coconut shavings! Ah... that's my boy!Bottom line... we loved it! We'll be coming back when we need that comfort food, taken to the next level!"

"First time. Choice of five sandwiches, one of which is vegan (avocado, lettuce, tomato). I had the "roast beef", my friend had the "cheeseburger". Both were excellent. Buns are toasted. They are on the small size, though. So if hungry get two. At $3.99 each, definitely worth it! No fries but can get Lays potato chips and a bottled soda for extra."

"This unassuming little sandwich spot is worth the stop. The flavors in both sandwiches we got were delightful. This has become one of my favorite places for lunch in the area. Great staff as well."

"Found this on our way to the convention center. Cozy space with good tunes, amiable host, quick service, and most importantly, the food was excellent. Reasonable prices. If we're in San Antonio, we'll be back. I'd have posted a pic of my Texas breakfast but I ate it completely a before I thought about it. It was that good."

"Always nice wait staff and amazing food. There's always a comfortable feeling in this restaurant as you see lots of families and frequently firemen or policemen there to have lunch/dinner. My favorite is the Tuscan and I always get the full order and take it home so it becomes three meals usually - so when you look at it that way its not too pricey although for a family with four and ordering an appetizer we usually spend about $120 ish."

"Pan Dulce Bakery and Cafe. 10-30-21. 07/100 Today was a fortunate one because I was finally able to experience this bakery that I've been curious about for years. This cafe is lovely. It is quaintly decorated with theme a la France and has comfortable chairs and tables inside as well as outdoor seating options. There is a coffee bar, a glass chess set and books available to read. The only thing missong to make this truly La Vie en Rose was some light background music. Today we had some breakfast tacos, hot cocoa and a chai to-go but I look forward to returning for one of my favorites...CREPES! They do not offer GF (gluten free) treats. they also do not have decaf coffee. I do wish they were open a little later because we have gone by several times at 3pm because we were nearby and been sad to see them closed. They were super busy but Mariana and Flor were hard at work making everything fresh to order. The hot cocoa was perfect, the chai was super sweet, which is great but if you are no sugar be sure to ask, because I forgot to do that. I am happy to support them so if you are missing the "other coffee shop that used to be here" do give Pan Dulce a try. Thanks Mariana and Flor. L."
