"My cousin and I walked into this empty building that had one employee. The lady took our orders, cooked our meals and was also our waitress. Wow talk about multitasking. We tried ordering kimbap but the lady said they were all out of Ingredients so she suggested something else off their menu which was very nice. The ribs were so delicious and the beef bulgogi was sooo yummy as well. They only offer bottled water and can drinks which is ok. Place was small and fairly clean. The owner of the place stood by our table and chatted with us for a while telling us the story behind her business and ingredients she uses which was great. She was the sweetest lady."
"hubbie had tried ilsong garden & wanted to take me.we both enjoy korean bbq & have tried several places around town.we were a bit confused about the grill tables. apparently they are only available for all you can eat. some places let you order portions of meat & let you grill it.deciding we werent hungry enough for AYCE ($38), hubbie ordered hot stone pot bibimbap ($15) and i got the beef bulgogi ($24). we started with steamed yaki mandu ($8)- they also offer it deep fried or pan fried. they were very good, and i enjoyed them steamed as we usually get pan fried.muchim is almost more important to me than the meat! i love the radishes & cucumbers the most, followed by potatoes.i liked that the veggies are served as all you care to eat salad bar style. i like some radish or cucumber with each bite of bulgogi. so it was nice to serve myself.hubbie declared his meal delicious and mine was flavorful & tender. portions were very generous, im pretty sure myleftover bulgogi will feed us both! it was 7:00 on a sunday, so not too many people there, but service was fast & friendly.i did notice lunch specials were available during the week."

"First time coming to this little spot after doctor appointment. We ordered dolsot bimbimbap and galbitang soup. First time trying galbitang soup. It was very delicious!! We'll be back.Update: second visit. The best bulgogi in town! Will be back for the Galbi next time."
"I will suggest, if coming with a group of people, do account for at least 2 HRs. We ordered the all you can eat and spent nearly 2 HRs for a group of 7 peeps. We all agreed that the already seasoned meat was far more flavorful. We ordered an array of sides all suggested by the waitress and had nothing but positives reviews on everything. Also, don't forget to try the fried chicken(especially the spicy one)"
"One of my favorite sushi places, been eating here for years and I've always been very pleased! It's worth the wait, the restaurant is clean and the a--_____customer service is great!zhbhvvvvvvvvvV a baby as"
"First of all, the food is very good and great price! But the people that run this restaurant are stellar! I normally don't care too much about the service (unless it's REALLY bad), so I usually don't spend too much time in my reviews on them, but i HAVE to make an exception here:We have had the same server the 2 times we went, a young man, he is so good, he remembered us from the first visit some weeks before and what we ordered! I was pretty impressed by that and he gave us tips and was very helpful and overall great! The owner is a very nice lady, she checks on you and if something can't be done she'll come by and explain personally why and will also spend some time to get to know her customers. It's so rare to be in a restaurant where you genuinely feel both the server and owner want to make time for you and make sure you are taken care of, in fact, it might be a first for me that 100% of the staff are calm, not rushing you, not pushing you.. i am very impressed on how you actually feel like you are the only customer because of the attention both owner and waiter pay to you. Food is great, price is great, and the service is even better!"
"I really like Gogi and will drive some way to come get it! I feel it has flavors of Korean and Mexican. Great portions and it's fast. Restaurant has seating, but it travels well. Highly recommend!"
"This has quickly become my addiction. I have been having a milk black tea with boba almost daily! The space is small and cozy. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Their boba is delicious and fresh. Their milk tea taste like tea and not so milky like other boba places I've tried. I have tried several places in San Antonio and this one is above the rest in my opinion. Try it...you will not be disappointed."
"A number of things I love about this place. The ambience, attentive service and the food! Owner Tommy is fantastic, kind and generous. Food is incredible! This place just opened up and it's guaranteed to be a local hot spot!! You can't go wrong coming here. Google has it at perfect 5 stars with almost 100 reviews. I can verify it earns every single star. My go to for Korean BBQ!"
"My wife and I really enjoy this restaurant's food. We have stopped in for lunch at least a dozen times. The beef bulgogi is so delicious. Although not on the lunch menu, my wife orders the beef bimbimbap from the dinner menu. Yes, it is a little pricey....but we'll worth it. Yum. Yum. Kam sa ham ni da."
"First, our server was fantastic. She did a great job describing the menu and different flavors. Awesome 10/10 service. However, the reason we didn't give them 5 stars was because there was soooooo little meat on the wings. Scrawniest wings ever. The boneless chicken is definitely the way to go. The secret sauce was our favorite flavor, followed by the soy garlic. The Gangnam style tasted a little burnt. If/when we go back, which I want to for different flavors and to try the whole chicken pieces, we won't get bone in wings again.Environment wise, it was just LOUD in there. The music was too loud for the space. It was impossible to carry on a conversation with someone sitting across the table.I was disappointed they were out of both the potstickers and the kimchi fried rice. Maybe next time."

Probably won't make it back to this location. First didn't have many people inside at 7:30pm on. Friday night. But ok. So, when I went to order, I looked at the menu and the Gal Bi was $17.99 but then I was quickly told that that the menu prices aren't updated and it's $2 more. Ummm didn't like that but ok. So after i order the Gal Bi and The mandu it was over $30. What really that's crazy that's not $30 worth of food. And as you see I barely had any of the traditional Korean sides. Now I really really hated that. Ok the taste of the food. The Gal bi was pretty good. Nothing to really complain about. But nothing to highlight either. Also with the mandu it wasn't anything bright about it, just there. Didn't have enough sides to really judge them. So again I feel like I was robbed by the cost and the food that didn't stand out. Oh and the lack of sides (really upset me).

The serve yourself banchan is by far the best I've ever had. I usually don't care for kimchi, but there's has a fresh addictive flavor.I wasn't able to do the bbq because I was alone. But, I had the Galbi soup, and it was FANTASTIC! Service was wonderful and kind. The hours are my favorite part. It's hard to find good healthy food after I get off work. I give this place a 10/10.

We were very excited to enjoy the 5/5 meal described in the other reviews. And, we did enjoy the beef and teriyaki chicken best. The Hawaiian beef was tough. The best sides were the Mongolian French fries and the broccoli salad. Sauces were tasty. The restaurant was busy and had only been open for about a week. The staff clearly was overwhelmed. We had to ask for menus, ask for sauces, extra water...you get the idea...and the check. We were given forks and scissors, but knives weren't available and rice was served without servimg spoons! There was a mistakenly undercooked item but the manager graciously provided us a 10 percent discount...much appreciated. The other thing to mention is that I left smelling like Korean BBQ and my jacket still smells like it a day later, in small part because of the smokey atmosphere.

A quick to go order for dinner consisting of a Stone Oak Roll, some gyoza, and a chicken yakimeshi. The Japanese rice (yakimeshi) with chicken was solidly made and tasted well beyond what I expected. Not greasy, quite flavorful, properly seasoned. Loved it and the portion was big enough for me to have leftovers.Next up the gyoza. Well prepared and well seasoned. Not too much nor too little. Finally the Stone Oak roll and I will be honest, I don't each sushi but my spouse seemed to enjoy it. She left nothing on her plate.I then asked, we've lived here for seven years now why haven't we eaten here more often? And I think it's because I didn't know that they had non-sushi foods. Now that I know- we will be back!

I had wanted to check out this place for a long time, and it did not disappoint -- I just ordered a bubble tea with tapioca this time around, but the cafe smelled heavenly inside, so I will be returning to try the food in the future![Update: We tried the K-bites today, and they were AMAZING. I had the bulgogi melt with fried kimchi, mozzarella, and garlic aioli, and my partner had the bulgogi dukbap rice bowl topped with carrots, cucumber, and egg. It was all absurdly delicious. This place is seriously so great -- I don't know if the bubble tea or food is better, and that's saying something!]

"My girls and I stumbled on this place and were super satisfied. It was 3pm so it wasn't too crowded but the Korean Cowboy (who I recognized from when he was working at a restaurant on broadway) was SO FRIENDLY and made my kids feel extra special. It is under new ownership with a soft opening next month so I encourage everyone to give it a shot! Theyre going to be doing some remodeling but I honestly thought it was fine as is. For me it's about the service and the food & it was top tier. The protein was high quality and we enjoyed the sides. Will go again. My daughter (8yrs old) wants everyone to know that they gave them balloons when we left haha."
"Just- amazing. How can food that appears so simple be... just so so much better than any other version of it. I got the Patty Melt with a side salad and the Yuringi Chicken. The food is open and inviting to anyone, but it does have nuance of flavors and depth that make it stand out. The meatloaf patty melt had a very pleasant texture and elevated feel compared to a typical burger melt and their house made milk bread was incredible. The chicken had a splash of spice and was fried in such a delicate and fresh take. The salad- even a simple appearing salad, was so fresh with such a delicious dressing- an overlooked afterthought by me at first, I was nearly licking the dressing by the end. The quality , attention to detail, and the cooking are superb (as I later found it, for good reason- the chef is world class.)You can feel the passion and love for food, service and experience upon entering. The atmosphere is awesome and unique.I drove about an hour round trip to try this, and easily would double that effort to come again."
"Inexpensive, tasty, and fast. Everything I want from a food truck.I was told it was authentic Korean food. I've never had authentic Korean food before, so I took her word for it. I had egg rolls and dumplings. Both were excellent, and the house (truck) made dipping sauce was really good."
"Service was great! They keep the restaurant super cool which is so comfortable since the cooktops are warming. I had never been to hot pot before and loved it!! The bulgogi beef was a favorite, but all of the meat was great. I got the rice noodles and they were hard to fish out of the soup (kept falling apart). I would get ramen next time!"
"I started frequenting this place when it was tucked into an HEB office on cypress street. It was a great hidden spot, with an awesome sit down lunch, for around $10. Total mom and pop place, where the appetizer pancake was slowly rolled out on a cart. I often wished they were open for dinner.I was a little scared when they moved, and glad to see them reopen. But it's not the same. A meal costs almost double, and the quaint little spot they had is replaced by one of those urban kitchens with 10 restaurants inside. The only option is togo. There's no cart. It's nice, and it's good for food that you take home to eat,, but it's lost some of the magic."
"Restaurant looks very nice inside. Much nicer than fast food, relaxed but nice enough to take a chill date. The server was immediately ready to help and the friendliness didn't decrease when I was just picking up instead of eating in. It wasn't packed so late at night, but the food was hot and delicious. I had the crispy chicken, both unsauced and with smoky mayo, ddukboki, and all three of the fried dough balls. My favorites were the smoky mayo and the cheesy ball. The regular chicken was still nicely spiced with a little heat but not much.. The ddukboki was delicious, but definitely spicy. I could only eat a little and my friend who is a huge fan of spicy Asian fare was sweating while he ate it. So the dough balls were good. But the real star was the smoky mayo chicken. I know, terrible name, but the smoky spicy hit from the peppers was fantastic and the touch of creaminess added by the "Mayo" was exactly what sent this into possibly the best chicken I've ever had. You don't taste actual mayo, it's just like they substituted mayo for butter in a buffalo wing sauce with better peppers and less vinegar. I do truly appreciate them being open late.. There will be many more trips in my future. Thank you from all the night shift workers. Excellent all over."
"Great happy hour! Weekdays 4-7 pm. Their sushi was good too! We got the Ikura sushi, salmon sushi, Shibuya roll, yellow tail roll. The fish was fresh! Plus edamame (plain and spicy/garlic). I think next time I'll just get the plain edamame and the garlic one, the spicy was a little too spicy. The jalapeño bombs were great also but insanely spicy for me. Good, friendly service. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday at 5:30/6 pm. Not sure what it's like on the weekends. Will be back!"
"This is located inside and off to the side of the Korean grocery store. It is counter style restaurant where you order and then you pick up your food when it is ready. You clear your own table when done. It reminds me of a food court but this is a sit down restaurant. There is not much moving space between tables. Service: very limited and you need to know what you want. Don't ask questions. It reminds me of the Episode of Seinfeld with the soup kitchen. While you won't get banned, they are not very helpful answering questions.Food: we ordered the mackerel and the spicy beef soup. The portions are very generous. I was able to share my soup. The rice was fresh. The banchan was better than most restaurants but the kimchi leans more on the sweeter side. The napa cabbage kimchi was a bit sour and getting soft and almost ready for soup. The bean sprouts were crunchy. I love fish patties. The mackerel was the highlight. It was cooked perfectly with crispy and soft flesh. The spicy beef soup had a good flavor but only had 2 strings of beef in the entire soup. All the other ingredients were good, but being a spicy beef soup, I would want more beef. Next time I come, I will try something else. Cleanliness: average. The staff do wipe tables between customers.Bathroom: below average and shared even though the door says Men it is for everyone."
"Everything was so on-point with Han that I don't even know where to begin gushing about it. I'll just pick somewhere...Mandu - perfectly crispy, right amount of filling, great dipping sauce, and TWICE the amount of dumplings that you get if you compared it to an order of, maybe, gyoza from any other place within a few miles (cough, cough, Tokyo Express, cough, cough...)Bibimbap - Generous amount of banchan, perfectly cooked rice, and everything seasoned to perfection, including the expertly cooked sunny-side-up egg on the dish. HOMEMADE GOCHUJANG,Y'ALL! We're not talking about the shit from the plastic tubs at the Asian Market. This is the real deal and DAMN it was good.Bulgogi - Paper thin, but not dry, and beautifully seasoned, obviously with a copious helping of their perfect rice.Kimchi Jigae - Rich, spicy, porky, tangy. Just pure happiness in my mouth. I don't know if this is only a "me" thing, but I consumed all the broth and tofu and, saved all the kimchi and pork for a later snack with a bowl of rice. Both applications were f*cking delicious. My wife and I got enough food to feed us both for 3-4 meals and it cost us $60. Given the quality of the food here, I don't think there's a better deal Korean food in the area. I will happily take challenges to that statement. ;-)"
"Visited this place for the first time on a Saturday. I guess the first red flag we should've seen was that the service was going to be really delayed was how long it took them to sit us. We were probably standing by the front door for a good 5 to 7 minutes, just waiting to be seated. Overall, it only appeared that they had two servers and a manager that was walking around helping.Once they finally sat down, it took a good 10 minutes before anyone even approached our table just to give us menus. Finally a couple of minutes later the server came and took our drink order. We ordered two waters and a sweet tea. The waters were given to us immediately. However, the tea took a good 15-20 minutes. Since we saw them were really behind, we decided to order food from the kitchen and I think that in general was a mistake. We waited for our food for a good 45 minutes. Mind you we also had a toddler so this was not the best place to be at with such a long waiting time. Finally leave the server came and told us that the kitchen was really behind, so it was gonna take a little bit longer, but no one ever came to give us an explanation as to why they were taking so long until way later. When the food finally came, it was very delicious. However, the only thing I didn't like about my plate was that some of the meat had a lot of fat. We ordered other food as well, but I honestly did not think about taking pictures because we were already really hungry. I think we got there around 6:15 and did not leave until around 8:45 or so. It's nice how they have the cook your own food style there. However, the smoke can get bothersome so if you have any issues with smoke, I would not recommend this place because there's so much of it. The space is decent however everything is just so tight, but it's very hard to feel comfortable. I think if you do want to give this restaurant a shot I would go during the week when it may not be so busy and hopefully the service is a little bit better."
"2nd time here.... and really happy. It's fantastic Korean food, great ambiance and GREAT SERVICE.Restaurant at lunch is well liked by those at nearby Ft. Sam Houston also.Lunch specials are great. Fantastic flavor and more then plentiful.Bento box with Bulgogi."
"You don't have to explore the orient to savor the unique flavors of Korea! Located within a mile of Fort Sam Houston, this unassuming local favorite serves up authentic Korean fare in a bright setting. I walked in on a weekday around 6 p.m. and was seated at a booth by a staff member. Having a high degree of familiarity with Korean food, I already knew what I wanted before I looked at the menu. Yep, you guessed it - Bibimbap - a delicious masterpiece of rice and vegetables topped with an egg sunny side up! If you have a taste for something else, they have a host of other classic Korean dishes that are sure to please! As I was waiting, the server brought out an array of sides (banchan). This included kimchi, cucumbers, fish cakes, among others. My dish arrived steaming hot in a cast iron bowl. I added some spicy sauce and mixed it in the rice and toppings. It was delicious down to the last bite, and the rice had a distinctive crisp at the bottom of the bowl! Overall, I would say the food here is top notch and would highly recommend!"
"This was the third time I have come here. Each time, it was ok. Not great, but not bad either. It had what I was craving, but never satisfying it completely. This visit was driven by the lunch specials they had. I'm not convinced they have great lunch deals. I ordered the bulgogi, but it was extremely salty. The kimchi side they brought me felt like it was on the verge of going bad. then finally the rice they gave me for my dish tasted old. On the flip side, my friend's dish was the bulgogi bibimbap. It was a few dollars more, but worldly different. It looked (and was) alot more satisfying than the one I got. It had the veggies, sides, etc in the stone pot. So if you do go here, I would highly recommend getting the bibimbap!"
"A hole in the wall, but don't let that discourage you from trying the food and all its flavors! Small family business so go show your support. We came in and nobody else was there, so pretty quiet. We placed our order, and the food came soon after. I really enjoyed my food! Especially the dumplings ;they were bustting. Super juicy and now on my top 3 choices for dumplings. I really enjoyed my pork cutlet it was crunchy and the sauce on top was perfect! My plate was 10/10 big portions had to take some home! The SPICY nuggets are no joke they got some serious kick! Super good but super hot They have lots of options to drink from and some Korean drinks in the fridge.A very homie space And once we finished our meal and left all the ladies that were there told us goodbye"
"This was my very first and still only KBBQ experience. We went for my birthday back in October. We were a table of 6, our grills were changed out frequently and our servers were friendly and informative. The space is ample and intimate, low key and casual. There's also private rooms for karaoke. We had such a great time, we stayed for almost 3 hours. I really enjoyed the spicy pork bulgogi. My biggest issue was the waitress overhearing our table saying it was my birthday, a couple minutes later she came by with shots for our whole table. It was a kind gesture meant to enhance our celebration but I later noticed they added it to all of our tabs even though no one requested/ordered the shots.Still shocked about that."
"Had a nice lunch and according to my son who recently was on Korea he was impressed as it was authentic.I found the staff nice and there was plenty of food."
"I absolutely love the food here. Service was fast, especially when you have multiple servers. The place is a quiet dark little bar, but the food is so good. Drinks from the bar also very good. I will definitely go back and would recommend to anyone."
"Came in on a rando Thursday evening (semi-early in the evening as we were famished). Saw this in an Express News article "Visit these 10 Asian-owned eateries for AAPI Heritage Month" so thought we'd give it a go. Blink and you'll drive right by. Located on Austin Hwy almost catty corner from the Dollar General Store. If you get to the VFW you've gone too far. Very nice and friendly server (adult and not a kid). Pointed out and gave several recommendations from beer to food. We started with the Goon Man Doo (fried dumplings). They were a hearty serving and fiery hot (temperature not spice) and came with a tasty dipping sauce; perfect combo of chewy inside and sharp, crunchy outside. Hubs had the Terra Beer (a big beer). He ordered the Bul-Go-Gi (a heaping serving of beef) which he really enjoyed. Tasty meat and a great sauce; a little on the sweet spice with a medium heat (he asked for). I thought it was a mild heat myself. I ordered the Korean BBQ ribs and man, a TON of meat. Even while sharing the meals I still asked for a to-go box. MealCame with steamed white rice and bowls and bowls of sides (all cold) ranging from kimchi to pickled cucumbers and more. The sauce on the cold brocccoli was so tasty! Some I couldn't really identify, and all of them varied in the spice/heat levels. As we were finishing a party of four came in and then a single diner came in so it was picking up for the night. (We overhead the larger party say to him, "we're happy to be back again". Definitely 5 for the food. The place itself is dated and a little sad looking inside. The ladies bathroom left something to be desired but hey, you're there for the food right? 3 for the interior.A homeless, looked like Jesus man wandered in and was immediately asked to go. Several security cameras on the perimeter and are on full display on a large screen so they can see who's coming and going. Safety is a +. So many more choices to try. Will return and bring a friend as well."
