"My wife and I went on a road trip last year and ended up winning a raffle at Luckenbach TX. Among the goodies, some spices from Purgatory Provisions. The Comal Blend #7 are the best seasoning spices I have ever tried on meat, ever in my whole life, period. I have been trying to find them online and I saw their website is down. I hope you guys are still in business! Because I want to order some!"
"We had Rosemary's cater our wedding out in the country 1 hr from San Antonio. The event was a buffet-style dinner for ~90 people held outside on private property. They were professional before and during the event, and were careful about our budget. They did a complementary site visit before the event so everything went smoothly the day of--I didn't have to worry or think about them a single time. They brought their own cooking equipment and only needed a tent, and supplied all the table settings. For the food, there were a few things I would have done differently with the menu but overall everybody was satisfied. The brisket was divine, several Texans said it was the best they'd ever had! Mashed potatoes were also super. They left us a TON of leftovers to eat and share, AND they allowed us to have self-serve alcohol so we saved on bartending. Many caterers have strict leftovers/alcohol policies so this was doubly appreciated. They also handled our dessert (they offer complementary cake cutting, though we just had cupcakes)."
"Come for the pizza, stay for the views!! Everything was enjoyable about this place, from the drive up there to the friendly staff and amazing scenery. Good pizza, tasty salads, sweet staff members."
"Wow, what a fantastic experience with Thorn at Blue Lotus Winery. This was easily the BEST food truck BBQ I've ever had. I would still give it comparable 5* restaurant ratings too but hard to say. Service was great; very friendly. They even brought it out to the back area at the winery. They take various credit cards. They didn't do cola but maybe that's because the winery had it.I tried both the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. They were AMAZING (yes, all caps, I know). The brisket was superb. The pulled pork was also very very good. Good flavors and tasty. For both, the flavors, sauce, meat...all made to perfection. It almost melted in my mouth with each bite. I'm getting excited and hungry again about these sandwiches. Obviously your choice depends on what you are in the mood for. However, I'd suggest the brisket.Loved their bbq sauce. So good.Definitely give them a try."
"This is surely a hidden gem on the Southside of SA. What they are is a little catering restaurant that offers lunch specials and dinner specials. Lunch is only from 11 to 1 and dinner from 5 to 7 or 8 pm.You can order off the menu salads hot plates or great sandwiches, or you can order their daily special, which will be different for lunch and or dinner. The portions are huge and the price is low for this type of meal.On this day for lunch, I drove across town to finally knock this off my bucket list after seeing pictures for 6 months. I got the club sandwich which was 3 or 4 in thick and had delicious slices of turkey and bacon. The service is second to none. I can't wait to get over here one day when I have time and get one of their hot plates. I'm thinking their spaghetti and meat sauce, or the turkey and dressing plate, or I really want to try the shepherd's pie, which is a dish I've never had in my life. Show up early around 11 a.m; sometimes there's 50 people in line outside of the building. They also cater office parties and other functions. There's no indoor seating so this is definitely a take it to go lunch spot. I did perfectly fine eating in my truck."
"J's Eatery just set the bar high for my first visit! I ordered shrimp and grits, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread, and meatloaf, and let me tell you--EVERY BITE WAS PURE COMFORT & FLAVOR!!!The shrimp and grits were absolutely perfect--creamy, well-seasoned, and so satisfying that after just five bites, I was ready for a nap. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth, buttery, and packed with just the right amount of garlic to make them irresistible. Then came the cornbread--moist, slightly sweet, and baked to golden perfection. It tasted like something straight out of a home-cooked Sunday dinner. And the meatloaf? Tender, flavorful, and covered in a sauce that tied everything together beautifully. For my first time ordering from J's Eatery, they made a lasting impression. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the flavors spoke for themselves. This definitely won't be my last visit! ."
"Please DO NOT USE FEEDBACK CATERING!!I just had a wedding last weekend. It went perfect except for this catering company. This is not due to one incident, but 11 different incidents. Juan Carlos was very unprofessional. His wait staff were good. But on the whole, it was a horrible experience. I met with him a few days after the wedding to address these issues. He outright lied to me even though I had the original documents. I paid him a little over $4000.00, so I expected a little bit of professionalism. The major issues were as follows:1. I asked for lasagna to be served to 147 guests. Only 108 showed up and 7 guests came up to us later and said that they were not given dinner. When we asked for them to be served, Juan Carlos said they were out of lasagna. He later admitted that he took an entire pan to the catering van and gave it to his staff. He denied my guests food that I paid for and took it home.2. He brought tables that were smaller than he said. They were 8 feet long but only half the width so that most of the table centerpieces would not fit. I had to limit what could go on the tables. When confronted, he said I never asked the width, even though he said they were standard buffet tables.3. He was told to bring a minimum of 5 vegetarian plates of lasagna for my vegetarian guests. It was on our original invoice. He outright lied and said I never mentioned it. I showed him the proof and said it was my fault. So when my guests asked for the vegetarian option, he took the plate away and brought them the same thing, thinking they wouldn't notice. When the Owner of the Lambermont asked him, he said there were not vegetarian plates. He instead took my appetizers of fruit and cheese and gave to them as their dinner. I had paid for that food myself. So he charged me twice for the meal they never got. My mom was one of these people. 4. When my husband asked for the food at the reception for his family that had arrived, he was rude and said he wouldn't talk about it. He walked away.5. His wait staff in the kitchen was eating my wedding cake before all my guests were even served. I saw this with my own eyes. I went into the kitchen for something and saw them eating a big slice of my wedding cake. I find that very upsetting. My husband's father was never served wedding cake and had to ask twice for a piece. 6. Juan Carlos delivered 3 pieces of wedding cake to the security people before all my guests were served cake. Not one piece but 3. A groomsman was going to be polite and get them some, but they stated that the caterer brought them 3 pieces each already.7. They started taking down the tables before the time allowed. We asked them to stop since most of our guests were still there.8. At our meeting, he admitted he took the lasagna, admitted that he knew the tables were not standard and said the only concession he would make was to deliver the 39 pieces of lasagna to my house with salad that he did not serve to my guests that I paid for. That was rude and unprofessional. He is not allowed back at the Lambermont. Please do not use him. You will regret it. He was rude to man of my guests and left a little bit of negativity on my wedding. I spoke to him calmly with all the evidence. I even showed him the names and phone numbers of the 39 people that did not attend my wedding to prove there should have been more than enough food left over. He said too bad. Don't make the same mistake I did."
"Delicious! Highly recommend this catering company!! The owner is great and very accommodating of any dietary needs or special requests. Call her up to send a Meal to a friend who had a baby, death in family, or just because!"
"De-freaking-licious! Amazing service and food is on point. I loved every part of the meal and ya girl can make a mimosa like nobody's business. Mmmm yummy"
"I discovered Don Strange Ranch in Boerne last summer via a Groupon deal to do the adventure climb. We walked through the barn and both thought wow this would be a great place for a wedding and so fitting for us. Needless to say, 10 months later we got married at Don Strange Ranch on September 29, 2012. Everyone that we dealt with was very pleasant. Lorissa was very patient with us and helped us maximize our budget. Even better, all of the linens and chairs and such were included so that was less for me to worry about. She scheduled a food tasting for us (that is actually in San Antonio), the food was incredible, and we knew that we had our caterer. She was able to recommend vendors for other items that we needed and advise us on some things we may not need which saved us some money.Any time that I called and she wasn't available she would call back quickly and thankfully already had a rain plan in mind as day after day the chances of rain on our wedding day became larger and so did my anxiety. The week of the wedding she introduced us to Esther. We met with Esther and went over everything from the ceremony chairs to the placement of the cakes. When the rain would break both the adults and the kids were crazy about feeding the longhorns. The Don Strange staff was at the event and on top of everything but somehow transparent. They made us both dinner plates and took them away later and I swear I never saw them. Esther was a godsend but I think we noticed that more when we got to our hotel late at night and hungry (the guests hardly let us sit down!). When unloading the luggage I found a goody basket with wine and dinner plates for us that she made up and somehow got into our getaway car. Even cold the food was good, not to mention the only bite I got of the wedding cake was the one my husband shoved in my face so I was ecstatic to see that she had packed us some cake as well (it was incredibly delicious so I felt like I had missed out). Two weeks later I'm still hearing about how beautiful the wedding was, and how great the food tasted. Everyone raved over the mashed potato bar! If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Our thanks to everyone at the ranch that contributed to our day and made it so fantastically memorable for us and our guests."
"David goes above and beyond with his catering business! Throughout the last year, we've utilized his services multiple times and he always exceeds our wants and needs. You won't regret hiring him!"
"This is NOT the place, if you're running late for work and wanna whip in and grab some tacos to feed the office for forgiveness. Because you'll likely arrive at work closer to lunchtime. But then again, did anyone rush Picasso or Rembrandt..? Nope. So, plan ahead and this fare is certain to please even the crankiest of co-workers and bosses. And you'll quite likely be carried around afterward up top like Rudy in the Notre Dame football movie. The best Migas and Picadillo ever. While the dining room was a paltry 78 degrees, I didn't care if the Carne Guisada was cooled off a tad as the flavor and tenderness were top notch. In addition, the homemade tortillas are a food group all their own. Can't wait to go back and try the cheese enchiladas smothered in Guisada gravy - very original idea.Concluding, this newcomer is instantly one of the top 3 joints of its type in town. And if they were serving dinner with margaritas, you'd need reservations. Aside from some minor growing pains, these guys have stepped up to plate, and slam dunked a touchdown. Two thumbs up."

We had a company family event today out at Landa Park in New Braunfels and Jeff and his wife Darla came out and catered our event. They were amazing! The food was fabulous!!! Not a single soul had a complaint and even my picky eater child loved it all! They were promptly on time and very well organized. Jeff and Darla we super friendly and great company to chat with as well. I highly recommend them! You won't be disappointed!

They catered an event that I attended over the weekend. Usually they do a great job however, this was not one of those events. The meat and chicken were tough and a knife was needed to cut both but they did not offer a knife. The other foods in the chafing dishes were not able to keep the food warm much less hot. The lone bright spot was dessert which was very good. Next time I hope they provide knifes to cut the food or actually do their job in the kitchen serve bite size food!

This is a really pretty hilltop spot to enjoy a gorgeous sunset over dinner. We had the bruschetta (possibly the best kind we've ever tasted - so perfectly topped with baked pesto), a Caesar salad (loved how the croutons were crushed, lending a slightly crunchy texture to every bite), the Bee Sting pizza (if you don't try this you'll be sorry - soooo good!), and the vodka pasta (I wanted the Tuscan Shrimp, but by the time we ordered they were out of it). Their version of the vodka pasta was a bit heavier than I like with meat in the sauce, but the homemade pasta was good). Our server, Bella, was attentive and friendly. Our reservation was for 7:30 on the patio. The website said a reservation for two is for 1.5 hours. When we tried to order gelato around 8:45 to finish off a delicious dinner, we were told they were no longer serving it, but we had heard gelato offered to a table behind us only minutes before. The restaurant closes at 9 and we did feel we were being a bit rushed out even before 9 which was odd since our reservation was supposed to be from 7:30 - 9:00 and we had been looking forward to the gelato. That was the only low point to an otherwise enjoyable dinner.

You have to find this food truck and enjoy their sandwiches. We tracked them down to Windmill Farms Winery in Seguin and made a special trip to try them on a recent Sunday. It was a cold day so we sat inside at the winery. Brenda, one of the winery owners said you order at the truck and then would bring it inside once it's ready.I actually make my own pastrami so I have a high bar when a restaurant or food truck offers it. I actually asked if they make theirs from scratch and they told me they did. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben but got it on Texas toast instead of rye. It was so good. The pastrami was on point, smoky, moist, and tender. Well balanced with the kick of the sauerkraut. My wife chose the brisket grilled cheese. Another excellent prepared brisket with gooey cheese. Please follow this truck and try their sandwiches. So good.

I've tried 3 different meals and a soup from here and I'm blown away by the flavor and portion size. It's the true definition of homemade comfort food! The chicken fried chicken was perfectly cooked and the seasoning and breading was delicious! It was served with delicious creamy Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The pot roast was so tender and juicy, it literally melted away in my mouth! It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. In my opinion, the green beans are good but I'm not a huge fan. I would have much rather preferred the Mac and cheese. The meatloaf was packed with flavor and was very moist. It was served with that amazing Mac and cheese and yummy mashed potatoes. The broccoli and cheese soup is just wow! Absolutely the best that I've ever had. So creamy and cheesy! The banana pudding parfait is absolutely devine!! Oh so yummy!! Definitely have to try it!!This place is known for it's turkey plates but I have yet to make it before they sell out. I've come close twice but unfortunately didn't make it in time. One of these days I'll find out what all of the hype is about. They don't have a menu posted because it's week the meal options change. You have to follow on Facebook to see what's on the menu since it's posted the same day. They open at 11:30 but there is usually a line by 11. This is just one of those gems that if you know, you know. I haven't been disappointed so far. I'll definitely be returning!P.S.This is a to-go only type of place. No pre-orders, you just show up and cross your fingers that they haven't sold out of their delicious goodness. They accept cash and credit cards. Bring a hearty appetite because their portions are very generous and super flavorful!

My quest for eating oxtails and my cousin visiting from California brought me to this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised by the building's repurposing. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess, who offered us a place to sit and took our drink order. Since the ox-tails were ready to serve, I opted for the shrimp (4) and grits, and my cousin ordered Elgin sausage and fried shrimp. First, the Elgin sausage tasted like Elgin Sausage, and the fried shrimp was fried well and seasoned appropriately. The shrimp and grits were hard to critique since I had the same dish in The French Quarter the night before, but I will say that this rendition was pretty good but lacking because of the amount of shrimp offered, the lack of incorporation of the cheese, and the lack of andouille sausage. I prefer somewhat stiff grits, but these were soupy. After waiting an hour, I was expecting a little more, but I will revisit this establishment again when my cousin returns from California. Finally, visiting this restaurant may be a treat if you are close to downtown with time to spare.

"These guys provided lunch for my son's school last year. NEVER before has my son had anything good to say about his lunch. But as soon as he got into my car after school he just could not contain himself! He would go on & on about how "tasty" the food was. This is the first time in his whole academic life that he's actually enjoyed the food. He said it was nothing like what he was served at his last regular NISD public school. He even tried new foods that he'd never had before because they looked & smelled delicious! I am so grateful that my son got to experience delicious, fresh, healthy foods at school. Oh how I wish they'd come back to us!!! AFIA loves you guys!!!"
"The most amazing food! You will NOT be disappointed. This is San Antonio's best kept secret. Worth every penny & then some. Chef Jon never disappoints. Get ready for the best meal of your life. I mean it. It's been over a month and my family still can't stop talking about his buttery delicious steaks."
"We went there for dinner after reading reviews and comparing other places in the area. I'm so glad we decided to go. The food was great and very plentiful. We still have enough for dinner tomorrow. It was pretty slow on a Monday night, but everyone went above and beyond to insure we had a great evening. As for the "loud kitchen" comments. The cooks were singing along with music and having a great time at their job. There's to much sullenness in the workplace these days. It was refreshing to hear them have fun. It was never loud enough to interfere with our conversation, and in fact a lot of times we had to strain to hear it. It's nice to go to a place that provides a positive work environment. If you want a quiet somber dinner, maybe don't go to a bbq restaurant?"
"Went to Lombrano Food Hall to get a taste of this BBQ. The ribs were so tender, the sauce had a little kick to it but nice. The brisket was also delicious, tender and thick cut. I'll definitely be back."
"This food truck comes to where I work on a fairly regular basis. They offer very delicious food at a very fair price and the service is so very welcoming and friendly. The enchiladas are delicious. So are the bowls. I love the Quesidillas as they are big tasty and filling. Get the delicious salsa to go with it. When the the weather is cold they offer enchilada soup. Think tortilla soup with enchilada spice. I love it with chicken. A great food truck for a satisfying meal. You won't regret it."
"Longhorn Catering has done several events for us this year. Fiesta Fajitas were unbelievable... They catered a Traditional Holiday dinner for our company tonight and it was exceptional. Turkey, Ham, Potatoes, old family gravy recipe with rolls and more. Pies were to die for...Their service is impeccable and they are really affordable. If you have an event where you want the food to make a big impression, Longhorn Catering is the ticket... 5 plus stars..."
"The food here b is amazing the people are nice and the owner is great a must try. I also got a turkey leg that just melted in my mouth."
"I have been to the original restaurant many times and enjoyed it. I was looking forward to trying this location but had trouble finding it. Signage is poor in my opinion. So bad that we nearly gave up looking for it. We stumbled upon it by accident as the entrance is down an alley like structure.Upon finding it, we had to decide if we wanted to eat in or outside. They had a wonderful large outdoor deck covered by trees and an outside bar. As it was mid to high 90's, we decided to eat inside. We were taken to our table, handed menus, and told they would be right back. Upon coming back, they brought chips and a delicious smokey salsa. We ordered margaritas and queso flameado to start. When they came back, we ordered our lunch, and I picked the mixed enchiladas (1 each of beef, cheese, and chicken). The plate also came with beans and rice.Warning: if you have more than 1 of their margaritas, bring someone else to drive:)A couple of things about their food: the warm tortillas and the queso flameado are awesome. The salsa - I wish I could make it at home as I would have it with everything:)Both of us enjoyed our lunches. The only problem was that after.eating chips, salsa, and queso flameado, we didn't have much room left for the meal. However, the meals were great too. I just had to have a "to go" bag.I think we arrived at the location about 12:30, and we left after 3:00. Service was excellent, and they didn't try to force us to leave. They were very attentive but not intrusive. Will I return? Definitely, now that I know where it is:)"
"I visited this establishment for a small luncheon. What I liked most is that there was an employee greeting guests and directing us where to park upon arrival. The facility has two rooms, a larger space upon entry, and a smaller room towards the back. The hostesses of the event I attended were able to decorate the room as desired. The food (mixed pasta plate, salad, iced tea and rolls) was plentiful. The taste was not my preference but there was nothing overtly wrong with it - simply personal preference.Although I don't know the cost, I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday party, shower, family event, etc."
"Just ate lunch here for the first time for a "Learn and Lunch" to hear about the solar thermal heaters available commercially. This is a great little place to host meetings, in theory. It would have been better if we weren't sharing the dining space with two groups, albeit each group was pretty small; I had a hard time hearing the spokesperson of our meeting while the group behind the projector screen were laughing and carrying on. It was mildly amusing that you could hear everything that was being said in the kitchen... but again, was distracting to our meeting.I can't even remember the last time I tasted a less-than-$10 steak that tasted so good. It was pretty darn good quality, thin cut ribeye that hit the spot for a luncheon. The vegetables, I'll assume were meant to be blanched or steamed from the condensation and heat of them, were still pretty firm... the carrots were still very crunchy for a side item for a steak plate. The herb-mashed potatoes were pretty good; had a couple of lumps, which for me is always a good indication that they used real potatoes. For dessert, I had the option of the apple pie with or without icecream... A La Mode, si vou plait! (sp)Even though this was a business type lunch, I couldn't help but notice the impressive-sized bar to the side and middle of the dining area. I could totally see myself hosting a masquerade ball here among a group of 20 friends.I would rate the quality to be a step above a family steakhouse like Jim's. They intend to feed a large group of people as cheaply but impressively as possible (I think they cater weddings and such) and they hit that mark."
"If you don't know what to make for dinner tonight, drop what you're doing and go here! The food truck is located just off 1604 and has a variety of food to choose from....even for those picky eaters. We drove up and saw several tables outside with a covering over it to protect you from the heat. The owners of the establishment are super helpful in walking you through the menu if you have any questions as well. The food...first off everything and I mean everything down to the lemonade was fantastic! I had the chicken and sausage plate with beans and cream of corn. Everything was cooked insanely perfect! My husband had a baked potato with brisket which was a good sized portion plus tasted amazing. My super picky kids had a chicken sandwich and hot wings. They really carry a large variety of food and highly recommend coming here."
"Great catering, very pleased with service recieved. Will recommend to family and friends."
"went twice in one week. yummy burger and the second time it was a good size salad. friendly staff and calming decor. will be back."
"We had tons of people tell us that it was the best food they've ever had at wedding. We had a carving station with ham and turkey, and a buffet with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, a salad and fresh roles. I thought that was the best thing ever, and would have given 5 stars for that alone! Then my daughters wedding cake was delivered 6 hours late. It was scheduled for a 4:00 delivery, but the bakery screwed up and it wasn't delivered until almost 10:00. Carolyn sent her crew home, but stayed to serve cake. Although we added the cake service to our package, she in no way had to stay. It wasn't her mistake, and she was free to go. That is someone who CARES about her clients and their overall experience. I will never use another catering company, and will refer them to everyone I know! I only wish I could add more stars. Thank you Fritz catering!!!"
"We used them for our 50th birthday party. We had fajitas beef and chicken, rice and beans and chips and queso. The food and the service were excellent! Although a little pricey, the food and service made up for it! I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone."
"I feel like I'm home!! So good, the flavors, the vibe, the music all bring me back to being at a kiosko on the island. The food was great, they turned our orders quickly. Absolutely recommend for an authentic taste of Puerto Rico."
"O Chela's, Chela's... wherefore art thou Chela's...? Don't mind me... I just got done watching that horrible Leonardo version of Romeo & Juliet and Chela's popped up in my head. I don't believe there is ANY correlation between the two whatsoever. I'm weird like that.My go-to at Chela's? The shrimp taco on corn. Plump & satisfying accompanied with thin slices of grilled sweet red onion, white onion, green bell pepper, and whatever other flavorful goodness is incorporated within this luscious mix. I've tried other tacos they offer like the gringas, carnita, asada, & barbacoa but the tacos de camaron are my staple. Service has always been friendly and the prices are fair for the amount you get (not to mention the full on flavor that's included)."
"Wow! This catering service exceeded my expectations in all areas of their service. Our event was for approximately 80 people. From conception, planning, food choices, pricing, to execution of the event, everything was absolutely perfect.I never had to worry about not getting a callback because every call was promptly returned. Every detail was taken care of, and they were able to point out things I needed to do that I hadn't thought of. My guests were so impressed with the food, the decorating, and the way the staff interacted with the crowd. I cannot recommend New Seasons enough. They are able to offer creative solutions for any budget you have. Don't hesitate to let them help you with your next event."
"Amazing fresh food. The serving sizes are very generous. I look forward to eating here again. Service is fast and friendly."
"We used An Event To Remember as the caterer for our wedding party. The food and service was outstanding! The price was reasonable. They also found us a DJ and a cake bakery. It was a night that my wife and I will remember for a long time. We plan on using An Event To Remember again for our next party at our anniversary."
"The dirty Abuelita is so so good and just what I needed! It's a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso! Cozy but you'll get your caffeine fix!Get your warm coffee to start from here and walk the Sunday Pearl farmer's market!"
"Texas Prime Catering is the best! We've used them for multiple holidays and have always been impressed with their food, quality and service! It is apparent the owners love what they do. Whether it's the brisket, prime rib, or turkey, our family and friends have never been disappointed. They are top notch and I highly recommend!"
"After searching for locally owned caterer for our wedding, we found Chef Darnell on a fluke. We went in for a tasting and hired him on the spot without trying any other caterers. His presentation was beautiful and the flavor of his food made my, now, wife actually emotional. When the wedding came he did not disappoint. His crew was pleasant and professional. He was very easy to work with and we will use him again no doubt. Did I mention that his food was phenomenal?!!! Thank you Chef!"
