"Earlier this week, we went to @smashincrab Stone Oak for dinner. Happy hour with food and drinks end at 6pm on weekdays.Dad and hubby had their flavored Lemonade, and I had the Signature Margarita on happy hour. Dad and hubby shared a bowl of Clam Chowder. Dad had the Cod Fish & Chips. Hubby had the Crawfish Etouffee. I had the Lobster Roll with Onion Rings instead of the cajun fries. There was much lobster on that roll. The food was pretty good and Jennifer was an attentive server. Overall, 5 stars."

"The service was great! Unfortunately, the food was lacking. I ordered small steak tenderloins. There were three of them and they all were overcooked. Even my mashed potatoes were greasy and dripping in oil. My spouse had the Diablo red fish and it was so salty and over spiced he could not finish it. The staff was really amazing. They tried to fix things as it happened but the night was lost to us and when the bill is over 200$ you expect to be able to rave about one thing"

"I'm usually not the type to enjoy in seafood boils, but if they were all as good as Surfing Crab, I think I'd indulge more often. I really enjoyed how fresh my seafood was, the seasoning, and the hearty portions for each item ordered.The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but they've done a good job with the layout, the cleanliness, and even the semi-cheesy decor (#1). It's a place that is casual enough for a messy date night, group dining affair and extremely family friendlyThe spread of everything from clams to shrimp to crawfish and calamari is impressive. My favorite item would have to be the snow crabs and each leg was filled with copious amounts of meat. Even the crawfish was on point, even if it's not in season. Their non-boil items, such as the shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp, and oysters were also surprisingly good. I think if I'm to go back, I'll be ordering everything from their clams to even the spicy edamame.Service has their moments and I think the prices are about average for a place like this. Seafood isn't going to be cheap, but I wouldn't hesitate about coming back here to feast and preferably in a large group of hungry companions.____________(#1) Giant crab and Captain Jack Sparrow? "We had a reservation for 14 people. When are group arrived we were sat at 2 different tables.When we asked if the tables could be moved together we were told they didn't have space. I feel like if the tables were not together this is something that should have been stated at the time of the reservation obefore seating us. So we ended up with a reservation for 6 and 8. Not ideal. The music was a little loud for my taste but we could still have a conversation so it was acceptable. I was a little annoyed our waiter decided to rap along with the song while I was trying to put in my order. Had some issues with getting our food, ordered things that were forgotten. Our 2nd table didn't get their food til 20 minutes after our table did. Guess this was fine since we weren't seated together. Our meals came out and everything was prepared well and tasted pretty good. Ordered dessert, yeah they forgot all of the dessert orders so we canceled those. Would have like to have tried them too. Overall, not a great experience for our group. With the mishaps of the night. I would like to give this place another chance with a smaller group to see if the service improves and try more of the food."
