Michael O. "I wasn't expecting much when my kids mentioned they wanted to go to Dogfather. I asked what it was, and they explained it was a hotdog place. I thought, "Hotdog, really? Let's check it out."As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a large portrait of a dog that gives off a unique vibe, making it clear this isn't your typical hotdog spot. And I was right; it's so much more than that. They offer a fantastic variety of hotdogs and toppings. When the food arrives, it looks incredible and tastes even better. It can get a bit messy, but that just adds to the charm of the place. My wife and I have visited several times, trying different options each time, and it's always amazing. I highly recommend this place!"

The soup was delicious, the sandwich full of melted American cheese. My husband commented it was the first grilled sandwich he ever had that wasn't grilled! It was toasted fresh bread, I loved it. The place wasn't packed but the waitstaff was MIA or the rating would be higher."

Rachel S. "I had driven by Main Street Bar plenty of times, and it seemed small.. run down...almost too divey if that's a thing. Or more like it just wouldn't be my cup of tea. Boy.. was I wrong. It's a nice, quaint, neighborhood bar, that definitely needs to be judged once inside. The bartenders are prompt and super friendly. The inside of the bar has about 10-15 tables, and then stools around the bar. There is a nice large patio as well. They do offer bar food, which I did not try. There was a shuffle board table inside as well, and plenty of TVs. They have been around for like 30 years! They did have house infused liquors as well, but I just went with my usual, and ordered a beer. Which was served to me in a koozie! Whoa. You just won my heart, Main Street Bar! We came in on a Saturday night, they were going to have a band, and my MIL was looking for some good live music. The band had a nice little set up, there is a small stage where they preform. I am under the impression there is live music every Saturday, different bands. It was definitely busy for a Saturday night, but not too packed, still enjoyable. Definitely a dive bar. Different specials offered each day! And a comedy night!"

There is a decent amount of parking too, ohh and a drive thru! When you walk in you're able to grab a menu and a table or you can jump straight into line. We were greeted by a bubbly woman at our table who let us know we can come up to the counter to order when ready, her personality shined through the whole visit and she wasn't the only one either. The bartender was just as kind! The menu gives you so many options, I went with the Burger Wrap with a Sangria my husband got the Big Kahuna Burger with a glass of Save the World and we shared an order of fries. Everything was so yummy, perfectly cooked and seasoned! The fries are exactly how I expect my fries to be cooked and seasoned. Overall this place is a win, I will forsure be back and you should give it a try. You will feel right at home!"

"This Smoke location is right along the River Walk, so while enjoying the great outdoor atmosphere with our food and drinks, we also got to watch and wave as the boats filled with tourists came by. We weren't very hungry, so we got the brisket nachos and two margaritas on the rocks. The nachos were very tasty and the margaritas were also very good. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. The day we went was a gorgeous day, so the outdoor seating was popular but not overly crowded. It was a great place to hang out along the Riverwalk."

First problem, GPS could not locate it. 2nd problem, the inside is dusty. Lots of stuff in the front of house that could use a good dusting and straightening up. But, the food was the reason I drove across town and it was good. I took my 2 meat plate to go so I could enjoy while binging a program. The brisket was falling apart tender and moist or just the way I like it, crusty with a little fat. Ribs were tender. The baked beans were just a little sweet and the potato salad was seasoned just right. I would post a photo but I ate first. All in all a good value and taste for my dollar."

This would be a great place to check out before (or after) a concert at Floores, or just a fun hangout spot. They had a large variety of beers, seltzers, ciders, and other drinks. It was also very reasonably priced, especially for the area. They had two port-a-potties on site, but they were really fancy and clean! So it wasn't an issue at all. The bartender was very friendly. Their new spot is located next to La Paleteria, across from the Sand Play area. The place is really nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. If you just want to order a beer, you can head directly to their bar where one of their amazing staff will take your order. If you decide to also grab something to eat, you have to place your order at the check-in section across from the bar (I promise is not as confusing as I am making it sound). Jacqueline J. "Hanging Out at Southerleigh Haute South for Happy HourLast month, the ladies and I craved a light treat, so we headed over to Southerleigh Haute South at the Rim for Happy Hour. I arrived around 4:30 PM to beat the 6 PM rush, especially with San Antonio participating in Culinaria, also known as Restaurant Week. Parking was easy, and the foot traffic at the RIM was light, allowing me to find a spot close to the entrance.I arrived first and was greeted by the hostess, who seated me while I waited for the rest of my group. The waitress came over, and I browsed the menu, debating whether to opt for the Culinaria selections. Culinaria is a bi-annual event that offers diners a preselected menu at a fixed price, usually around $35 to $45. I decided to stick to the Happy Hour menu instead. To get a head start for the ladies, I ordered a dozen oysters and chicken wings ($1 each) along with some fried pickles. The oysters were fresh, with just the right amount of salt. When the ladies arrived, we added deviled eggs ($24 for eight) and honey biscuits to our order. While I love deviled eggs, I was shocked at the price. Though tasty, they didn't seem worth the cost. Our waitress refilled our drinks, and we added mac and cheese ($9) and two orders of meat pies. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese, covered in a queso sauce, lacked flavor, and the meat pies, which resembled greasy empanadas, were disappointing. Even the wings, though affordable, were too salty.I've never been let down by the downtown location, which feels more upscale, but this visit left me a bit disappointed. It was a fun outing with the ladies, but with so many other restaurants at the RIM, it may be a while before I return to this spot.-- Da Islandgal29412"

Michelle E. "Gold Feather is a great spot for some comfort food (fried chicken, of course), especially since they stay open fairly late compared to some other places nearby. The service was great, the food was tasty, and the pricing was reasonable.FAST FACTS:* Parking - located in a shopping center with plenty of parking but also walking distance from the Aloft hotel nearby* Reservations - not that I could find* Online ordering - available on their website* 3.5% fee added on to all non-cash paymentsSERVICE - Kay was great! She was very personable and checked on us multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. Our food came out quickly after ordering.PRICING - The total was $52.18 after tax ($3.84) and the 3.5% non-cash fee ($1.76) but before tip for an iced tea ($2.50), big bird with sweet potato fries ($15 + $2.50), 6 piece chicken tenders ($14), fries ($4), two sauces ($0.79 each), and chocolate cake ($7). The pricing seemed reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of food you get!BIG BIRD (8/10) - For a turkey burger, this was fantastic! You get two good size patties, each with cheese, and the actual turkey was moist and flavorful. The bun was fluffy and toasted and the toppings of lettuce, tomato, and onion were all super crispy and fresh! The comeback sauce on it was delicious... it's a pretty basic burger sauce but adds a nice zing along with the pickles. I would order this again!SWEET POTATO FRIES (9/10) - Phenomenal! They were crispy on the outside but hot and soft on the inside and seasoned well. The real star is the marshmallow dipping sauce that comes with them... SO GOOD! Totally worth the up charge... I would order these again!CHICKEN TENDERS (7/10) - These were a great size and were fried perfectly. The chicken was moist and tender inside but the outside was crispy. The Tabasco Honey flavor had a great balance of sweetness with a slight heat. The Easy Tiger flavor was a little underwhelming and didn't have quite as much "sauce"... it's more citrusy and less sweet than a typical Chinese orange chicken. I would order these again, but not the Easy Tiger flavor.FRIES (6/10) - They were basic fries... nothing to write home about. I'd definitely recommend getting the sweet potato fries instead!CHOCOLATE CAKE (8/10) - I took this to-go back to my hotel room and they packed it up nicely. It comes with vanilla ice cream and had a great chocolate flavor. It isn't massive and is a nice sweet ending to the meal if you like chocolate! I would order this again!I stay at the Aloft nearby frequently and would come back here for a lunch or late dinner... it has a great laid back atmosphere with good food and service. I'd recommend Gold Feather to others!"

Candice L. "Restaurant looks very nice inside. Much nicer than fast food, relaxed but nice enough to take a chill date. The server was immediately ready to help and the friendliness didn't decrease when I was just picking up instead of eating in. It wasn't packed so late at night, but the food was hot and delicious. I had the crispy chicken, both unsauced and with smoky mayo, ddukboki, and all three of the fried dough balls. My favorites were the smoky mayo and the cheesy ball. The regular chicken was still nicely spiced with a little heat but not much.. The ddukboki was delicious, but definitely spicy. I could only eat a little and my friend who is a huge fan of spicy Asian fare was sweating while he ate it. So the dough balls were good. But the real star was the smoky mayo chicken. I know, terrible name, but the smoky spicy hit from the peppers was fantastic and the touch of creaminess added by the "Mayo" was exactly what sent this into possibly the best chicken I've ever had. You don't taste actual mayo, it's just like they substituted mayo for butter in a buffalo wing sauce with better peppers and less vinegar. I do truly appreciate them being open late.. There will be many more trips in my future. Thank you from all the night shift workers. Excellent all over."
