"This Smoke location is right along the River Walk, so while enjoying the great outdoor atmosphere with our food and drinks, we also got to watch and wave as the boats filled with tourists came by. We weren't very hungry, so we got the brisket nachos and two margaritas on the rocks. The nachos were very tasty and the margaritas were also very good. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. The day we went was a gorgeous day, so the outdoor seating was popular but not overly crowded. It was a great place to hang out along the Riverwalk."

"Well I had a very pleasant experience here. It's obviously cold so I ventured to the bar in the back. The bartender girl was very attentive and makes a great rye old fashioned. Was in San Antonio for work and wanted to try some Texas bbq while in town. Place is nice overlooking the Riverwalk and the server was very attentive and constantly checked up on us Great happy hour prices for beer and select shots (bartender's choice) That day it was $5 green teas. Food was just ok. We got the family platter that feeds 4 and the brisket nachos. The nachos looked better in the picture. It had a Cheezwiz taste/color/just and Cheezwiz consistency with some chopped brisket to top it off. The mac and cheese we barely touched. Nice place to sit and people watch .

The Smoke Shack is one of my favorite BBQ places in San Antonio!My family was in town for the holidays and they ofcourse wanted to get some authentic Texas BBQ, so immediately thought of The Smoke Shack. I highly recommend you getting here when they open so you can get their full menu. For my last visit I got a plate with brisket and their jalapeno cheese sausage with a side of fries and green beans. The brisket was super juicy and tender. The sausage was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Their green beans are always on point and are some of my favorite in town. The fries were also amazing and I have no idea what they use in their seasoning, but are freaking addicting. The service was also amazing, and the staff kept checking on us making sure we didn't need anything. Frankly, I've never had a bad experience at The Smoke Shack on all my years coming here. This is most definitely a must for anyone visiting town!

Mom was visiting from Massachusetts and wanted to try some BBQ. Saw the food trailer in Lackland and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Q sandwich with brisket and she got the Mac n cheese bowl with pulled pork. Both were absolutely delicious and worth every $$. For the price of some crappy fast food combo meal, come and get yourself some real quality food instead! Will for sure be coming back again!

My family and I were visiting San Antonio and stumbled upon this new spot! We were a little hesitant due to the lack of reviews here on Yelp, but decided to give it a try and boy, were we glad that we did!This establishment deserves way more higher ratings! The entire feel of this place was very inviting and trendy. The bar service was exceptional, and the kind guy working the food truck patiently took our big parties order and was helpful in making recommendations. The food was simply delicious. The smoked brisket was definitely the star of the show and surprisingly enough, the turkey was a close runner up. I will have to say that the coleslaw could use a little work, but I definitely don't want that to overthrow just how good the rest of the meal was. my party and I ordered beers to pair with our food and the pricing was fair in my opinion. This is such a cool spot to hang out with a group or even a smaller party. There are plenty of big tv screens and picnic tables in the dining area outside, all equipped with heaters and fans. This is the perfect spot for any sports enthusiasts or good ol barbecue lover! Would highly recommend giving it a try!

"I admit I am very picky about y QUE. I decided to give Ballhoggs a try after seeing the owner on the local news. First problem, GPS could not locate it. 2nd problem, the inside is dusty. Lots of stuff in the front of house that could use a good dusting and straightening up. But, the food was the reason I drove across town and it was good. I took my 2 meat plate to go so I could enjoy while binging a program. The brisket was falling apart tender and moist or just the way I like it, crusty with a little fat. Ribs were tender. The Hawaiian Mac salad is creamy and cool perfect for a hot day. The chicken on a stick is sweet and mildly spicy and worth the drive to find the place.
