"La mejor oreja en San Antonio! We love coming to Bedoys for pan dulce. Our kiddos usually get whichever season cookie they have at the time and my husband and I get concha's, orejas, and donuts. This is a weekend spot for us and has become a place my kiddos ask to visit all of the time."
"Great food love the chicken 65 Also the samosa was pretty yummy the wraps with potatoes and chicken were freaking amazing!!! If we lived close we would come here and try more stuff but we don't this was a random stop before a drive out of town but it's so worth it!! Service was great the ambiance is nice quiet and traditional music! If your around the area this place is a good one to stop and check out"

"I've been a repeat offender here for awhile now, at the truck and now at the brick and mortar. It's been a blessing to watch the growth & development of this company & it's staff. Beautiful energy and it's reflected in everything they prepare. It's hard for me to choose my favorites but if I had to list a couple: the avocado toast, the molletes , any of their specialty coffees and if you're not a coffee person they also have refreshing drinks without coffee. I finally tried one of those recently and was impressed. Can't wait to see where the next 5 years takes them. Keep going"
"Lunch today was a tarragon chicken salad sandwich .. savory with a grained mustard, greens, and a tomato. The sandwich was super large, and the flavor was really good. I like the variety of hot teas ... went for the spicey Turkish tea. However, I am still not a fan of the cupcakes ... thick rather than fluffy, tasteless. The service was fast and friendly. The parking is sparse."
"La Popular bakery dots the san antonio landscape and consistently provides delicious sugary bready goodness. Low carb diets need not enter as colorful, sugar topped goodies are in full display for you to enjoy. I've been frequenting La Popular for years and have thoroughly enjoyed most of the goodies (I'm not a big fan of mexican sugar cookies besides hojarascas and wedding cookies) plus their flour tortillas. They're fairly priced but can add up quickly as you fill up bags of pan dulce."
"What a great bakery! Everything is delicious, customer service is exceptional and prices are great! I asked for a special order cake and NOTHING was too challenging for Lizzie and her crew! Lots of fantastic cupcakes, cookies and other desserts in the cold case for immediate pickup! Conveniently located across from the Antique Mall on San Antonio!"
"I wanted to like this place, as it's a small business and very cutely decorated. I walked in and there were tons of delicious looking pastries, perfumes, and a few jewelry pieces (as the "Y Más" implies). Looked like a classic set up. Unfortunately, the staff did not know whether their pastry was guava or strawberry. That was concerning to me. I asked for a tres leches. I eagerly went to enjoy it when I arrived home and noticed it was NOT tres leches. The amount of mislabeling and not knowing their own products is concerning to me. It's also a huge health risk. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this bakery."
"I just love 85 degrees and you can't go wrong with any of their pastries and desserts! One of the most underrated items on their menu is their selection of boba teas and coffee. Everything I have tried has been delicious. This trip I had a hot sea salt coffee. No bitterness and not too sweet, perfect!I loaded up on a bunch of pastries. Here are some of my top picks: marble taro, ube, mango panna cotta, tiramisu cheesecake, and the mango bun."
"I've been looking at trying fresh milled flour and this place was great. I found the price reasonable for the quality. I paid $4 for a small loaf, and the cashier sliced it after I ordered. They have a loyalty program, and I would definitely take advantage of it if I was from the area."
"Bought a cake for my wife's birthday. The strawberry was rotten and the mango smell bad. They didn't accept to take the cake back. My wife told me she looked on Facebook and also saw similar reviews. I was told by the lady that is on the counter that they bring these cake from Monterey, NL Mexico. So, you can imagine... the last thing that you are getting here is "fresh".I recommend you to got somewhere else where they do bake their cakes. Don't waste your time here."
"Fast and delicious menu this week! Enjoyed the cakes and cookies. Staff was friendly and deserts where warm and satisfying"
"Im so glad we have this bakery near by! Their bread is always fresh and they have a good variety of it. I grew up in a mexican household so after living outside of TX I cherish eating bread on Sundays like I did as a kid:) This bakery definitely has that mexican flavor. They have the bread behind glass counters so they attend to you and give you what you want. $20 gives you about 10-13 pieces or so, depends if you get filled or not, filled is more expensive of course. They also have cake squares, cupcakes, filled churros, and rollos de cajeta(rolled sponge cake w/ filling). My fave is the pink squared cake! So soft and delicious! They're open late too!"

Wow!!! We decided to try a new Panderia on our way through town. Boy did we hit a home run. My wife was punching me every time I said give me a couple of these, you're buying too much! I wanted to try everything. We had been stopping at another place for years on our way to see the grandkids in the Hill Country. Absolutely everything has been tastier. I can't wait until our next visit to try more pastries.

Somosa chat is the best!! It's a large serving with delicious seasoning & fresh toppings. My favorite dish on their menu AND it's only $5! I can eat on it for 2 days. Oh! And their coconut ball cookies are out of this world. Their pastries are beautiful - wish I took a picture. The service is efficient & they are always very friendly. I usually take out, but the place looks pleasant for eat in. Will always go back!! Delish!!

I stopped by Kulture Kafe on a whim Saturday after dropping off a package at FedEx. I had ordered from them before via DoorDash and I think my review was placed at their other location. But since I made the effort to check in to this one, I figured they warranted their own review.First off, I love the cozy atmosphere in here. It's very inviting. Seating includes a couple of large high tables and some high chairs, and some loveseats. Merchandise lines the area by the door (I love the glasses!! I need to buy one next time). The menu is displayed on the wall to the right, and a pastry case sits on the counter. A seasonal menu is also on the counter. The barista (whose nam is also Cindy, I think?) told me what the two most popular drinks were (the French Kiss and the Te Amo) and I opted for the Te Amo. It was a creme brûlée latte. For breakfast, I also got a ham and cheese croissant, which she warmed up for me, too. The whole thing was relatively inexpensive.I ate my sandwich at the shop. It was very tasty. A lady and her kids came in, they must have been regulars because they were having a blast chatting up the barista like she was an old friend! It's nice to see places with loyal clientele like that. I took my latte with me and went on my way.Oh, the latte. It was creamy, velvety, and very very good. I absolutely loved it. A bit too hot at first, but once it cooled down a little bit, I gulped that right down. It was excellent! The cup was also very pretty, too.

Kind friends from San Antonio brought us an assortment of GF cupcakes, and we now must visit the bakery in person. My partner usually lets me know when baked goods are good for "GF standards", but these were deemed delicious by any standards. The cupcake itself is tasty and the frosting is decadent and rich.

I love this place so much we go there at least twice a week and stock up! Always fresh always good. Try their apple turnovers if you dare, you'll be addicted. I like the churros too. Pro tip: heat your pastry in the oven to your liking for a flaky outside and warm center. Idk I love everything

Love Chica's. The glazed-cinnamon twist is my kryptonite. I thought cinnamon rolls were the pinnacle, but this twist is WOW. The cinnamon rolls are also very good and I'd be lying if I said I haven't gotten both at once.Alway enjoy the selection, variety and availability throughout the day. Only "negative" I would give is the price. Chica's pricing is well-above that of a local panaderia, which can be a bit shocking given the location's area.Still, the products are alway good and folks are excited for them when brought to a gathering. There's something to be said about price=quality and consistency.

Excellent outlet of an excellent bakery chain. Not much in the way of seating and it's pretty basic, but the service is efficient and parking is easy. There's a smaller selection at this location than the one in Austin but what they have is superb. Egg custard tarts with flaky and perfect crust. Their mocha-flavored cake has the sting of dark coffee and my favorite, the multi-layered opera cake, is a thing of beauty. Worth trying at any price! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here.4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary.3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad.2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here.1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

"Always fast and friendly customer service and delicious cookies with a clean store. This is my favorite location"
"So I have my usual breakfast spot in the neighborhood. As of late the wait has been a bit of a nuisance. I was finally persuaded into trying Los Angeles after raving about their barbacoa tacos and pulling me in with bakery good options. Okay, their barbacoa is good. The bean and cheese is up to my standards and they make a decent sweet tea. They also have their yummy tortillas packaged up and ready to take home as well as a number of tortilla products (nacho chips and taco shells). Their bakery goods/ pan dulce are so so. A bit too much bread for my taste. Overall we always have a good meal. Nothing to complain about! Plus they have a great breakfast deal during the week of two tacos, a soda/tea, and a donut for $2.75!"
"I was really in the mood for some sweet bread and this was the closest. The selection was large and fresh. The only problem was that there was a fly that flew into the case while we were ordering. The associate immediately ran around to the front to open the case saying "excuse me, excuse me" because we were in the way lol and removed it. She was a quick lil lady and apologized. Yes, we still ordered cookies and sweet bread. It was pretty damn good, the prices were great. I've seen flies in the unattended cases at HEB and elsewhere, so whatever. We will go back again and recommend this bakery."
"This is my go to bakery! The lady that's always working is very nice. The inside is very open and there is a large display of different kinds of cookies, cupcakes, breads, pastries, cake, donuts and tortillas! It's very clean, the fridge is always stocked with milk, juices, sodas and tres leches cakes. The homemade tortillas are great, they are soft and not dry! You can get a large bag of pastries for under $5! I never spend more then $10 and come home with a little bit of everything plus tortillas of course.Definitely stop by and support local businesses!"
"The ice cream was amazing ! We got the chance to grab a couple cones before we left San Antonio. Unfortunately we were running short on time but on our next visit we will be going down the hall to Max and Louie's to try the French toast! Luckily we ran into the owners and they could tell us a little bit about the history of the restaurant. The food and service quality was truly exceptional, I can't wait to come back."
"this is a pretty decent panaderia! Someone from work had brought some sweet breads from here and when I saw they had pies, i had to stop by (i work in the area).I went last week and bought 3 pineapple pies, at $1.50 each and 1 donut. the donut was so-so. then just a couple of days ago i bought 2 more pies (my husband loves fruit pies) and i bought a small container of mexican cookies, the brownish ones with cinnamon and sugar; those cost $2 for the box. Those were REEALLY good. I'm not crazy about fruit pies but i'll take my hubby's word that they were awesome. they were HUGE too! see the pic! i'm not sure about the hours. i went this past Monday around 4 or so and they were closed, but when i went WEdnesday around 5, they were open.Anyway, i'm going back today to buy more breads for the weekend. They also take orders for birthday/special occasion cakes.i think i did see the sign that they accept credit cards but not sure if there's a limit of $5 like most small businesses, it's also got a super tiny parking lot so you may have to park on street if you ever go on a busy day. It's on the corner of Saltillo and S. Laredo, over by the Guadalupe Lumber Co area and directly across the street from public housing.... i'm only mentioning this because i know some people are picky about what part of town they go to. I don't care, because if I hear a store, restaurant is good... I'm there! lol!"
"Fiesta Bakery is my absolute go-to, holy grail bakery! My parents took me here when I was a kid, and I've been hooked ever since.Their sweet bread is worth driving miles for - and I do! The prices are incredibly reasonable, and the bread is authentic, delicious perfection. The ladies working there are always warm, welcoming, and friendly. It feels like visiting family! If you haven't tried Fiesta Bakery yet, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP!"
"Amazing flour tortillas. The best in San Antonio. Great pastries also. Small parking lot. But plenty of street parking. Will be back."
"This place is a love letter to carbs, and we need to celebrate this. My wife said she had heard about this mythical magical place from beyond Ft Sam that served heavenly conchas and had coffee drinks - that's all I needed to know. Off we went after a lovely day-date to find the legendary Alebrije. We were greeted upon entry and the peppy person behind the counter answered our questions with enthusiasm and an obvious deep knowledge about the kinds of foods and drinks that would make us want to come back for more. Mission definitely accomplished. I had a simple espresso drink but the bite of sweet bread that I sampled was absolutely phenomenal. The sweetbread served dutifully alongside its caffeinated counterpart - that what I wanted to write but it sounded like a really pompous way to say that coffee and sweat bread are fiiiiiire together. Wow. Anyway, this place is great. And the exposed brick inside (from the early 1900s buildings) is charming and mesmerizing. We'll definitely be back."
"This is a place that I come back to periodically to enjoy the amazing things that made my heart sing as a child. My grandmother used to bring me here to this very location frequently and it's still the same. You can't say that about many places.Clean and the cookies and pastries are always delicious and a piece of home life for me. I also have carried on the tradish way of my upbringing to share the happiness of the offerings here with my son as a child and my partner who is also somewhat aquatinted with a true panaderia is like.Authentic Mexican Panaderia. In the hood my family all yields from on the Westside of town untouched by the awful ways of clinical shopping centers and gentrification. This neighborhood may be rough but I like it that way.We take care of us in this community.Outsiders welcome to visit come to the barrio and have a concha or buy a amazing pack of tortillas from my gente but you can't stay.Everyone is nice here.Service is great.Being bilingual helps but if you can point and nod your good.Bring cash.Money goes far here."
"I found this place on the internet, and I'm so happy I did. I was looking for a birthday cake, and wanted something other than chocolate or vanilla. I viewed their website and was very impressed by the various flavors they offer. I settled on the Tres Leches, which was one of the best I've ever tasted. The service was fantastic when I placed my order, and the experience in their shop was even better. The shop has the ambiance of a small family owned bakery, which is a pleasant change of pace vs the big box grocery stores. I've found my new favorite cake shop and cant wait to try another flavor!"
"First time I stopped to give a review in the middle of eating. This place is absolutely AMAZING! Very pleasant people serving delicious kolaches. Try the blueberry cream cheese if you have a sweet tooth. Will come back over and over again!"
"THE freshest cookies around. They have the same buttery smooth homemade taste you'd expect at home. The store is spotless, and the person who helped us was very friendly. We will definitely be coming back for more!"
"We just ate here for the first time and it was DELICIOUS It has a very nice family atmosphere and nice CHRISTIAN feeling The FAMILY RUN establishment is like walking into a friend's house The service was Great and I HIGHLY Recommend it YOU CANNOT BEAT what you get for the price you pay Home cooked food at a reasonable price AMAZING!!!"
"**PANDEMIC EXPERIENCE**I was looking for a delicious panaderia because as you know there is nothing like a true bakery concha. I came across this bakery and it was amazing. They have good prices and even during the pandemic they are not raising prices like most bakeries are. The staff was super friendly and all wearing masks! I Definitely will be coming back!"
"We get all our cakes here never been disappointed. The cakes always delicious. The lobby always clean and employees always nice and helpful."
"It's always fun to try a new coffee spot I haven't been to yet, and I had the pleasure to celebrate my birthday here with my friends! Cute house with lots of outdoor front and back seating, but unfortunately since it was freezing cold, we had to sit inside. Seating was a little limited at that time, but we managed to find a large table for all of us!Super friendly service at the counter. And there was an array of yummy freshly made in house pastries behind the glass counter. I ordered a decaf latte with coconut milk & pump of hazelnut and an almond croissant. The coffee was STRONG, I had to ask for 4 more pumps of hazelnut lol I really enjoyed the toasted almond croissant- I'm a huge lover of almond paste. The rest of my friends ordered some breakfast croissants and they looked super deelish. The brunch menu offered on the weekends looked fabulous too. Afterwards we wandered outside, and in the back they have a chicken pen with the most beautiful rooster and hens. Met an employee who takes care of them and you can tell he enjoys his job and was happy to be there. : )"
"I've periodically stopped by Plantyful Sweets for a little over 2 years now and it's by far my favorite bakery/cafe in San Antonio. I have celiac disease so it's very hard for me to eat out, but I've never had any trouble with Plantyful Sweets! The staff is always kind and welcoming and the ambiance is beautiful! My only gripe is that it's only open till 2pm but I understand it's hard for small businesses to maintain long hours. I hope to go to this cafe for many more years!"
"I was in this shopping center as my wife uses the dentist in the office next to this place. I had seen the shop before but had never ventured in. As my wife's appointment was going to take a long time (she had a tooth that the root calcified, and the dentist was working to save it), I decided to go in here to beat the heat and get something cool to drink.Walking in, you enter into a pretty large area with seating and ordering to the left, and another large seating area to the right. A young lady behind the counter welcomed me in and asked how she could help me. I told her I was in here for the first time, and she went over everything and explained things very well.I ordered an iced latte and stepped out to answer a phone call. My drink was ready when I came back to the counter. I grabbed my drink and made my way to a nearby table. Looking around, this reminded me of a national chain from Seattle as so many people were working on their computers and drinking their drinks.I took my first drink and was impressed. It was very cold, strong like I like, and went down way to quickly:)Will I return? Definitely!"
"Just had a light lunch and tea at this adorable shop inside the Painted tree boutique. The ladies running the business were so kind and attentive. Food and drinks were made quickly and according to special requests. I can't wait to come back with friends to visit in between shopping!"
"Great Filipino food spot! I come here all the time to have lunch and this place never disappoint! The Weekend buffet is also starting back up on March 2 since closure during Covid."
"Hadn't been to Dulce Victoria in a while, since their desserts are sold in some local Mexican restaurants. Wow! They've moved from their old location on Fred. Rd to a nearby spot. They're now at 150 Babcock Rd, which is about a block off Fred. Rd.Beautiful new little shop and plenty of parking. The inside is alot roomier than old location. Now, for the actual desserts. I purchased a pan de elote dessert cake, but ended up buying 4 other flavors to share with friends over lunch today. Everything fresh and nicely packaged. I'll be returning to try some of their other desserts as well. The young lady who assisted me was very friendly and shared info regarding their occasional specials on desserts and she also shared info on the process for ordering a custom made or regular cake. I love this new place. It's cozy, meticulously clean and well organized. Highly recommend if you'd like to try unique desserts."
"Stopped by this quaint panadería (Mexican bakery) after a 10k run by the missions. Glad we stopped. So many options to choose from and the pastries all looked so fresh and delish. The ladies working were so nice and accommodating. They also sell tamales! So much to choose from. Enjoy!"
