"Lunch today was a tarragon chicken salad sandwich .. savory with a grained mustard, greens, and a tomato. The sandwich was super large, and the flavor was really good. I like the variety of hot teas ... went for the spicey Turkish tea. However, I am still not a fan of the cupcakes ... thick rather than fluffy, tasteless. The service was fast and friendly. The parking is sparse."
"It's always fun to try a new coffee spot I haven't been to yet, and I had the pleasure to celebrate my birthday here with my friends! Cute house with lots of outdoor front and back seating, but unfortunately since it was freezing cold, we had to sit inside. Seating was a little limited at that time, but we managed to find a large table for all of us!Super friendly service at the counter. And there was an array of yummy freshly made in house pastries behind the glass counter. I ordered a decaf latte with coconut milk & pump of hazelnut and an almond croissant. The coffee was STRONG, I had to ask for 4 more pumps of hazelnut lol I really enjoyed the toasted almond croissant- I'm a huge lover of almond paste. The rest of my friends ordered some breakfast croissants and they looked super deelish. The brunch menu offered on the weekends looked fabulous too. Afterwards we wandered outside, and in the back they have a chicken pen with the most beautiful rooster and hens. Met an employee who takes care of them and you can tell he enjoys his job and was happy to be there. : )"

"I ordered coffee and their peanut butter pie covered in chocolate. Good for those with sweet tooth and loves peanut butter. But recommend to share with someone. Too sweet to finish all by yourself. Support local businesses. This is one of them. Charming little place that also sell some cute knick knacks."
"We just ate here for the first time and it was DELICIOUS It has a very nice family atmosphere and nice CHRISTIAN feeling The FAMILY RUN establishment is like walking into a friend's house The service was Great and I HIGHLY Recommend it YOU CANNOT BEAT what you get for the price you pay Home cooked food at a reasonable price AMAZING!!!"
"Wonderful relaxing lunch that was absolutely delicious. Just like being back in France. Excellent food in a reasonably sized portion. Each ingredient in my smoked salmon sandwich and my spouse's crepe was fresh as was the in-house made baguette. For dessert I enjoyed the crème brûlée. Wonderful service from the French couple whose business this is. Short walk from the Alamo and a lovely respite after a long tour."
"This place was amazing! I now dream of Dubai chocolate, which I highly recommend. First let me say they have an amazing selection of sweets and while the line is long it goes fast like chick fil a. I came in for the famous Dubai chocolate and while it looks small it was filling and amazing. Just know the parking lot always seems like a lot is going on. It's just that way."
"I can't say enough about this place from the decor and vibes, the absolutely fresh and delicious food, and the warm and welcoming service. Their pastries, kolaches, cupcakes, cakes and pies oh my! Even their fresh baked bread wafts in the air inviting you into this delightfully sweet shop. It's like a lady's quaint little tea house. Come and see."
"While searching for the perfect cheesecake, we popped in for a visit. There are a wide variety of flavors to choose from and come in your choice of slices or mini jars. The cheesecakes were in the good category and worth the stop but probably won't travel too far to go back. The shop has some small sitting areas inside and outside which is perfect to enjoy your treats. Staff were friendly and helped in the selection process. Overall, I would rate this place 4 out of 5 slices. Good enough to stop in if in the neighborhood."
"Stopped here on a Sunday morning before visiting my mom, who lives in the area. Love this place! The service and food are excellent. Love the Monkey bread and their Chai Tea Latte. It has become my go to on Sunday mornings because the food, atmosphere and friendly service."
"Haven't even eaten yet and the smell of the bakery has my mouth watering. Our waiter Tyler, is a total gentlemen, and recommended French toast over pancakes, Exquisite! We are still waiting to decide what dessert to choose. !!!!"
"This is a cool, hip joint that was playing my favorite type of music: Siouxsie and the Banshees, Talking Heads, The The, Psychedelic Furs, etc. Sorry, I'm supposed to be talking about the coffee, lol. My selection was a 10oz latte flavored with a syrup called Smoky Kentucky. It was delicious! Along with that I had a banana nut bread that accompanied it well. This is coffee done right; great service and cool vibes. I made a special trip a bit out of my way on foot to try this place because I had a feeling it would be worth it. I was not wrong!"
"It's a really sweet place. Cute woodsy area in the front - entrance can be a bit confusing if you park in their small lot. Doesn't help when there is a lot of construction going on. It looks like they have a very busy catering / take out, multiple bags being prepared and picked up while we were there. The staff (guy) who helped us was really friendly and very helpful while funny. The space is tight. Older converted small house with small rooms- poor ventilation, not very cool rooms. Went with my friend and we ordered the chicken salad and grilled pimento cheese sandwiches and we shared. We had the combo (potato rosemary, kettle chips & my friend had the soup & quinoa). Soup was a little heavy. My friend really liked the quinoa. The chicken salad definitely was pickle forward and had a bit going on- I didn't taste much of the chicken and a bit dry. Reminded me of a really good tuna salad. The pimento sandwich was good- different when grilled. I would almost ask for it cold - the pimento was that good. They have bottle and canned drinks. We had the lemon bar and the Mexican wedding cookie. I will say the flies were pretty bad which was surprising but not shocking based on the last review. They are everywhere and pesky as can be. This really took away from the experience. I hope you stop by and share your experience."

Kind friends from San Antonio brought us an assortment of GF cupcakes, and we now must visit the bakery in person. My partner usually lets me know when baked goods are good for "GF standards", but these were deemed delicious by any standards. The cupcake itself is tasty and the frosting is decadent and rich.

It's been a minute since I visited Commonwealth Coffeehouse and I was pleasantly surprised by their new look! If you haven't been to this location in a few yours (like myself) you will be surprised by their amazing patio and renovated indoor. The new look is definitely more inviting and I really appreciate the new check-in area they created. The flow of the space is so much better and it looks similar to their Hemisfair location. But enough about the place, let's talk food! For my first time in some years I decided to go with their avocado toast, and wow! The food was prepared super quickly and the egg was cooked to perfection. It was filling but not overwhelming. I truly enjoyed every bite of it and can't wait to come back for another one! Also, if you are a coffee drinker I would highly recommend their cappuccinos. They are made just right and taste amazing! My only note for the team is to please include a changing table for babies in their bathroom. Their hemisfair location has one, and I just wish they also had it here. I came with a friend and her newborn, and she had to go to the car to change her baby which is obviously not ideal.

My girlfriend really wanted to try this place, since she saw that the owner was on a television show she liked. We decided to try it out since we were in the area. The place is in downtown area and is easy to find with decent parking.Once inside you get a nice little cafe vibe with the sweet smell of various sweets in the air. The employees are cheerful and the rush of excitement hits you with all the options to choose from. There is so much to choose from and the employees are very helpful with the description of each sweet. There is also coffee and other drinks to choose from and the selections are vast. The only small downfall is that it is pricey, and the to go boxes are huge! So be prepared. Other than that we do come here often to try all the variety of sweets.

Alright, imagine this: you stroll into La Boulangerie, and it's not just your average bakery. No, no, mon ami--it's like stepping into a little slice of France with a side of playful chaos. The warm, buttery aroma of fresh croissants surrounds you like a cozy hug from an old friend. The sound of laughter, clinking coffee cups, and the occasional "Oooh la la!" fills the air. It's the perfect place to take a break from life and embrace your inner Frenchie. You're not just there for the food (though let's be honest, the food is amazing). Oh no. Here, you can grab a game and unleash your competitive side with a friend. Order the breakfast croissant sandwich (don't even think about not getting it--it's bacon, egg, cheese, and flaky croissant perfection), and then pick up a game. Maybe it's a high-stakes round of Uno where the only thing fiercer than the game is the croissant crumbs flying around. Or perhaps you'll have a dramatic showdown over a game of chess. Who knew croissants could inspire such intense concentration, right? And let's talk about that breakfast sandwich for a second. It's like the Eiffel Tower of sandwiches--crispy bacon, warm egg, melted cheese, all inside a croissant so fluffy it might just float away. You'll eat it and think, "Am I in Paris? Is this a dream?" No, it's real, and it's here.La Boulangerie isn't just a place to stuff your face with the world's finest pastries; it's a hub of joy, laughter, and friendly rivalry. You grab a croissant, grab a game, and suddenly you're not just in a bakery, you're in the heart of Parisian brunch culture. So, bring a friend, have some fun, and let the croissant-fueled competition begin! Voilà!

Bread Box Bakery and Restaurant is a true gem that delights from the moment you walk in. The bakery section is a feast for the senses, offering an array of freshly baked breads, pastries, and confections that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The sourdough is perfectly crusty and tangy, while the buttery croissants practically melt in your mouth. The restaurant side continues the excellence with a menu that showcases both creativity and comfort. The dishes are crafted with care, and it shows in every bite. The breakfast options, in particular, are a highlight. The avocado toast is topped with perfectly poached eggs and a sprinkle of artisan sea salt, making it a standout choice. The hearty sandwiches and salads are equally impressive, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a thoughtful blend of flavors.Service at Bread Box is impeccable--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, without being intrusive. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a leisurely meal or a quick coffee break. In every aspect, from the incredible baked goods to the delectable dishes and top-notch service, Bread Box Bakery and Restaurant truly excels. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and a warm, inviting environment. I am looking forward to having a tea party here with my daughter.

The service is a walk in and they greet you. The ambiance is laid back. I had gotten a tripe chocolate cheesecake and a pina colada cheesecake. My daughter ate the triple chocolate and she liked it. Unfortunately she ate it before i could take a pic of it. Lol I did take a picture of mine before eating it. They are 7.00 per cheesecake. It's a little pricey for the size. I get it.. packaging and etc. It tasted very rich and creamy. Very delicious but pina colada ended up not being my favorite. I would try them again. For 2 small Jars was 14.00.

"First time I stopped to give a review in the middle of eating. This place is absolutely AMAZING! Very pleasant people serving delicious kolaches. Try the blueberry cream cheese if you have a sweet tooth. Will come back over and over again!"
"Both owners were here it was amazing and smelt delicious .Desserts look amazing and you can smell it from the parking lot .the ingredients are top notch so don't think your not getting your bang for bucks taste .Well worth the drive"
"Recommend: Maybe. If you are in the area and haven't tried them yourself, I would say check them out. Otherwise, there are probably other bakeries in the area with tastier treats. I was downtown for a Veterans Day parade and decided to walk around downtown where I came across Cinnaholic. I walked in from the back entrance where there are two other restaurants but leaves a seating area for Cinnaholic.Food: They have many "toppings" you can choose from or select from their recommendations. I selected from one of their recommendations- The Pumpkin Cheesecake Cinnamon Roll. The cinnamon roll was warm and gooey, it wasn't too big, and the flavor I selected wasn't too sweet (which I appreciated). I did find it to be a bit chewy. I also got a water. The total with tax was $9.74.Service: The service was good, the staff answered all my questions and gave me flavor recommendations. Ambiance: The location was clean. It's not a big location but there a several two seater tables. There weren't too many people. So the place was very quiet."
"Love our neighborhood Crumbl! Great service and cookies! Love the customer service at our Bandera location!"
"Although the inside area is small the store is beautiful the selection is amazing always trending pieces. We went for their shark week spread and got 3 different sugar cookies. I also got their raspberry crumble and 4 oatmeal raisin cookies which just melt in your mouth. Everything is perfection and has a wonderful homemade feel. The workers are so sweet and helpful. Can't wait to go again. They also have outdoor seating."
"My wife has been wanting to go here for a while so Friday after an appointment we stopped by for lunch and we were not disappointed. It's a relaxing environment with some great food. My wife had the chicken salad croissant and I had the French Toast. Both were really fresh and really good!!Service was a little slow but it gave us time to visit and just enjoy the day!!On the way out I heard my name being called by a beautiful Cinnamon Roll....i had to have it and it was great!!!!"
"The absolute cutest coffee shop with great handmade items to leave with! The ambiance is quaint and very clean. The staff is so friendly and I enjoyed talking to them about the different ways to make coffee. I got a pistachio latte and I remember that it didn't leave an after taste and it was not overly sweet. I bought the coffee mug I drank out of!"
"My family and I were seated promptly and I chose the fresh lemonade, it tasted perfect. I got the quesabirria plate and it was piping hot and so delicious. I thought it came with 3 but almost shed a tear when I saw there was a 4th one . The staff are absolute sweet hearts and treat you like family. Our wait for the food was short about 15-20 minutes and they apologized (?!) for the long wait but said that it was because it's all made fresh lol. My experience here was amazing, very much recommend."
"This is a small beautifully wonderful bakery. Great for special occasions or a dose of self care. Treat yourself to something special. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Only challenge is street parking can be difficult but I'll endure it for their cupcakes. Great for date night, outing with girlfriends or a treat for the kids."
"Pan Dulce Bakery and Cafe. 10-30-21. 07/100 Today was a fortunate one because I was finally able to experience this bakery that I've been curious about for years. This cafe is lovely. It is quaintly decorated with theme a la France and has comfortable chairs and tables inside as well as outdoor seating options. There is a coffee bar, a glass chess set and books available to read. The only thing missong to make this truly La Vie en Rose was some light background music. Today we had some breakfast tacos, hot cocoa and a chai to-go but I look forward to returning for one of my favorites...CREPES! They do not offer GF (gluten free) treats. they also do not have decaf coffee. I do wish they were open a little later because we have gone by several times at 3pm because we were nearby and been sad to see them closed. They were super busy but Mariana and Flor were hard at work making everything fresh to order. The hot cocoa was perfect, the chai was super sweet, which is great but if you are no sugar be sure to ask, because I forgot to do that. I am happy to support them so if you are missing the "other coffee shop that used to be here" do give Pan Dulce a try. Thanks Mariana and Flor. L."
"We get all our cakes here never been disappointed. The cakes always delicious. The lobby always clean and employees always nice and helpful."
"This is the best pan dulce ever. I had been looking for a good Concha when I came across a list of top places and chose this bakery. I went nuts; concha's, empanadas, croissants, cuernitos, donuts and much more. The coffee always perfect. My family ate it all up. Worth going out of your way. I find putting them in the microwave for about 20 seconds leaves them soft and warm."
"I've been looking at trying fresh milled flour and this place was great. I found the price reasonable for the quality. I paid $4 for a small loaf, and the cashier sliced it after I ordered. They have a loyalty program, and I would definitely take advantage of it if I was from the area."
"Love love! Pictures of our favorite items. Love the vanilla cupcake and pecan bars the most. We've also purchased loaves of bread here & the pigs in blanket/sausage rolls. We prefer this location over the broadway location because they serve the vanilla cupcakes here. Staff also very friendly."
"Soft moist cake with creamy dreamy frosting. Service is prompt and pleasant. No lines. Clean and smells of divine sugaryness!"
"Great Filipino food spot! I come here all the time to have lunch and this place never disappoint! The Weekend buffet is also starting back up on March 2 since closure during Covid."
"This shop is conveniently located with a lot of other shopping around it. The venue is very clean, very well lit and the staff was friendly. My favorite cookie is the oatmeal raisin and this oatmeal raisin was one of the best I have ever had. This location is out of my way but I can see myself coming back."
"THE freshest cookies around. They have the same buttery smooth homemade taste you'd expect at home. The store is spotless, and the person who helped us was very friendly. We will definitely be coming back for more!"
"I loveeeee Lee's!! I'm so happy my parents live close by so I can come to get my coffee and donuts here. Their donuts are so fresh that my family and I don't even purchase from H-E-B anymore. We only get our donuts from Lee's :)"
"I've periodically stopped by Plantyful Sweets for a little over 2 years now and it's by far my favorite bakery/cafe in San Antonio. I have celiac disease so it's very hard for me to eat out, but I've never had any trouble with Plantyful Sweets! The staff is always kind and welcoming and the ambiance is beautiful! My only gripe is that it's only open till 2pm but I understand it's hard for small businesses to maintain long hours. I hope to go to this cafe for many more years!"
"Great food love the chicken 65 Also the samosa was pretty yummy the wraps with potatoes and chicken were freaking amazing!!! If we lived close we would come here and try more stuff but we don't this was a random stop before a drive out of town but it's so worth it!! Service was great the ambiance is nice quiet and traditional music! If your around the area this place is a good one to stop and check out"
"Always fast and friendly customer service and delicious cookies with a clean store. This is my favorite location"
"Oh my god I can't believe I hadn't reviewed this place yet. I needed to get a cake for my wife's birthday this past October and of course I waited until the last minute. I had a big family dinner at the melting pot set up and I hadn't ordered the cake yet. I went ahead at my sister's recommendation called Lucy's. We live in Blanco, Texas so my sister lives in San Antonio and offered to pick it up. I called and I will say the order takers over the phone do not have much of a bed side manner. They are very matter of fact and do not have time for niceties but they are efficient and get the job done and correct. They asked how I wanted it to be decorated and I just advised use Fall colors and have it say "Happy Birthday Alyssa" those were the only instructions. The cake I got was beyond my expectations. The end product was phenomenal. I then for my daughter's birthday a few week later ordered the cake from there as well and it was worth the one hour drive from our house in Blanco, Texas. My daughter has a tendency to ask for obscure heroes or characters this year it was Batgirl and thanks to Lucy's she had her most favorite cake yet. OH and if I haven't mentioned it yet the cake is moist and delicious and can do all different fillings. I have chosen both times the custardy cream and it has been so yummy that we will always get our cakes from here. Like I said do not be put off by their nonchalant straight to business demeanor they get the job done how you want and it is the most delicious cake you will ever have so it is worth the price and the drive."
