"For Daddy-Daughter dinner tonight, we stayed within the Stone Oak area. I thought to check out @kennedysirishbar. Ashley was the bartender and server who took care of us. Shiner draft was on happy hour for $3. Dad had Sprite. Dad and I shared both the Fried Green Tomatoes, and Fish and Chips. I really liked the tomatoes. It had the perfect breading. The fish was decent. Jameson was also on happy hour but I didn't get to try that. Ashley had suggested Jameson Orange. I'm curious to try next time."
"It was a good experience. The service was great and the food was okay. The star of the show were the fresh dinner roles, but everything else was just okay. The ambiance is a little bit of a Time Machine warp of the 70s but it was tidy. Wouldn't know if I'd go back, but glad we tried it out. The salad wasn't too fresh and my steak was cold, but my son was enjoyed his grilled cheese."

"Cute, clean bar. Went for a Cowboys game. Wasn't overly packed. The service for food wasn't the best, but if you have patience you'll get it and it will be hot. Nice and friendly."
"First things first! We had thee BEST service here!!!!!! Our waitress was at point. We were there with a large party and she never forgot about us! The place is such nice and a chill. If it wasn't for this TEXAS heat we would have appreciated it so much more lol! But they do have seating inside so that's a very good thing! We had appetizers and they were delicious! I definitely want to be back."
"My second time eating here. My company had a dinner with about 20ish people. They handled our group well. Appetizers came out quickly. All of them were tasty that I got to try. Our meals were timed well and still the proper temperature. The scallops were prepared perfectly. Everyone was talking about how good it was the next morning and how much they enjoyed it."
"Pretty good, I wouldn't come just for this food but since I'm staying here it's nice atmosphere and easy."
"3? Only 3? Yes, but with a strong caveat....My wife were looking forward to sharing the award-winning chicken fried steak while on our Texas trip. The beef was, admittedly, some of the best cooked and quality meat served to me this way. The corn, while canned, was hot, buttery, and a huge portion. The mash was good, but....HOW CAN YOU GIVE US LUKEWARM GRAVY ON YOUR AWARD WINNING DISH??? The gravy should be just as hot as the meat and veg. The fried zucchini was actually quite nice. Our servers were.....real. Like, keeping it real, Texas style. Drinks were refilled, and we genuinely felt taken care of.Would recommend, but for the love of Davy Crockett, heat up your gravy!!!!"
"I haven't been in years our waiter was so great he is also a fellow teacher which I love as far as the food the meatballs are amazing and the turkey avocado sandwich is amazing but the fried chicken sandwich wasn't that great I would say 7 out of 10 it was to greasy and the fires could of stayed in the fryer a little bit longer but service was great and the restaurant is very nice and clean"
"Came in on a holiday Monday and only had to wait 5 minutes for 920 am for party of two. Got my go-to pesto chicken quinoa (I do think compared to a year ago, the serving portion has gone down) but totally understand, because the flavor is still there! Love the blend of tomatoes, pesto, kale and chicken! The kids meal is the one my son always enjoys, he gets this huge chocolate chip pancake (which the table can share). This location in particular has multiple servers that check in and everyone seems to work hand in hand! Overall great experience!Dont forget to check in online ahead of time so you dont have to wait too long!"
"This is a 2 for 1 review. Based on Dinner Service( 1-2 Stars) and the Breakfast Buffet (4 Stars) in the morning. Needing to get the granddaughter something for dinner, we decided to stay in and get a couple appetizers for us and some dinner for her. She had the Grilled Cheese with fresh fruit. She had no problem finishing everything off. We went with the Queso and the Sliders. We are Queso snobs at this point in our lives, and when you see Chipotle and Gouda as the ingredients, how can you go wrong??..Well It was very wrong!! It formed a hard shell on top that took a spoon to break thru. Now the Flavor was good, lacking Chipotle for sure and got rock hard with in 5 minutes...Epic Fail!! We also got the Bacon Sliders to share. Those were pretty good. Burgers were a bit over cooked, but good flavor with crisp bacon. Lets Talk Service...Very Lack Luster for the night shift. When asked what beers are on tap...you truly shouldn't have to go ask what they are. Its something you should ask when you first get to work. Now for the Breakfast Buffet in the Morning!!...Spot on for what I am looking for. Service outstanding!!...Lots of options, Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits, Pancakes, ETC...I made sure to eat my fair share to cover the un-disclosed $25 "Self" parking fee. We all left packed out and satisfied."
"A gem in San Antonio. Cullum's Attaboy is somewhere between a French bistro and early 1900's San Antonio diner, serving an elevated brunch that will not be found anywhere else in this city. The staff wear white aprons and hats, classic jazz plays softly, and the space feels cozy yet effortlessly luxurious. The menu is concise yet interesting, featuring classics like pancakes and burgers, along with fine ingredients like escargots, truffles, and plenty of caviar. Order/pay at the counter, choose a table, and the staff will serve your food. Brunch for two set us back just under $100. Their Cortado was the best espresso drink I had in my 5 day visit to San Antonio. My husband's drip coffee was very good as well. Service was polite. You must order the 1915 Spudnuts. These are soft, pillowy donuts made from riced potatoes. Their exterior is delicately crisp, and the inside melts in your mouth and has a buttermilk pancake flavor. 10/10. Another must order is the Champagne Butter Poached Scallop. While $18 for two bites of food may seem steep, I assure you that it is well worth it. The scallop was delicately poached and impossibly tender, enhanced by a rich hollandaise and rainbow trout roe.The French Omelette was excellent, albeit slightly over salted. Skip the Baked Tomato French Toast. While a savory French toast sounded intriguing, it was ultimately an over baked salt/oil bomb. I quickly got palate fatigue. Regardless, this was my favorite meal in San Antonio, by far."
"Decided to come for lunch. They also serve breakfast all day so I was able to get pancakes . We tried the battered/fried zucchini and they were very good - perfectly sized - hot - crispy on the outside.I had the chicken fried chicken and it was also very good - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - the white gravy had a good flavor. The onion rings were good - battered and deep fried and very tasty. The green beans were . . . meh . . . not my favorite. The pancakes were very tasty - a vanilla flavor - light and fluffy. The 'salad' - well - its lettuce and a few croutons unless you pay extra for cheese, tomatoes or anything else you wanted - that was the lame part of the meal. Our table also had the French Dip - the beef was tender and the au jus had a good flavor. The sweet potato fries were very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. When we arrived the place was pretty full but they got us in. Our server was very pleasant and checked back appropriately to make sure we were ok.We'll come back - the food was good overall (except the green beans and the 'salad')."

I went to Kennedy's for the first time on an evening after work with a friend and was surprised to see that it had quite the crowd. All of the guests seemed to be regulars and knew one another pretty well. While there, we met each of the bartenders who were all named Ashley. All of the Ashley's were very friendly and hustled to get the orders in/ made. While there, we ordered drinks (deep eddy lime w/ club soda), enjoyed the free popcorn (a bit burnt but you can't complain when it's free) and ordered the loaded nachos to split. The nachos looked great when they arrived but overall they were just OK. We ordered the beef nachos because they were out of chicken and we didn't have much of a choice. With that said, I can't recall having a bite where I even tasted beef - mostly just cheese and lettuce. Overall, i'd come back because of the friendliness od the staff and the relaxed atmosphere. I wouldn't order the nachos again but would happily try something else from their menu.

I'm in San Antonio on a temporary assignment, and I was tasked to find a good spot for dinner with a couple of co-workers, one of whom had to depart early. Not knowing if I would ever see them in person again after this trip, I had to be selective in deciding how best to bid farewell to him, at least for the time being. We had agreed on a nice steak dinner, but left the decision up to me on where to go.I'll be honest here, I was actually looking at a couple of Brazilian steakhouses by the Riverwalk, but as luck would have it, neither had reservations available for that night. I frantically searched online to find the best spot for all three of us, and I chose The Barn Door right off the 410 loop east of the 281. One of my Yelp friends from San Antonio awarded it five stars, and there was also a Yelp check-in offer of a free tea. Also, the prices seemed pretty reasonable, especially compared to other steakhouses in the Alamo City.Reservations were available that night for time slots at 15-minute increments, but oddly enough, not at 7 PM, our agreed upon time. We then agreed 6:45 PM was a good time for dinner, and so I made the reservation, which was done through SpotOn.Two of us arrived at 6:30 PM, and the hostess was willing to seat us even though the third person (not me lol) was a little late. We chose to wait, and then once he arrived, we were taken to our table in the Main Dining room.We were sat at a table between the open kitchen and a wall, which almost looked like a jail. Jewel (sp?) came by to introduce herself as our server. She was just that, a jewel! She did seem a little bashful since it was kind of hard to hear her, but it was only moderately loud at best during our visit, so it wasn't much hard of hearing here. Other than that, I enjoyed having her take good care of us!She started us off with drinks, and that's when I realized I had to check in to show her my Yelp check-in offer. She didn't recognize it at first, and then I had to tell her. I almost thought she was going to charge me for the tea, but luckily she didn't.Each of us chose an appetizer to share with one another. The others chose Fried Mushrooms and Fried Jalapenos. I chose the Wild Boar and Venison Sausages. Each of them came with their own sauce(s), and they were all good! It's worth mentioning there are nuances in the taste profile between Wild Boar and Venison, but they look so similar that even Jewel couldn't tell which was which. Did we care? No. Did we enjoy them? Yes!The others chose the Club Sirloin and Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin Filet as their entrees, both cooked Medium. I went with the 10 oz New York Strip, cooked Medium Well. I think my steak was a little undercooked, but I liked it better than the Ribeye I had at my hotel, which cost more than twice as much!As we were ordering, I didn't realize our entrees would come with a house or Caesar salad as well as a potato side. I had completely overlooked the bottom of the menu specifying that. There weren't that many choices for the potato side. One co-worker chose the mashed potatoes. The other chose the twice baked potato. I went with the (once) baked potato. Jewel asked if I'd like for it to be loaded, to which I answered affirmatively. For the salad, you get a choice of 5-6 dressings. I almost went with my go to, Honey Mustard, until Jewel mentioned there was Creamy Garlic, which sounded delish. And it was! The amount of dressing was pretty generous, and it was a generously-sized salad, much larger than a side salad!I enjoyed the (once) baked potato, which was loaded, but not fully loaded compared to the twice baked. The twice baked had more cheese, and I believe it also had jalapenos, which I didn't taste in my potato. However, there's a small upcharge for the twice baked; I don't recall how much of an upcharge it was.Everything was superb! There wasn't a bad bite that was had amongst the three of us. We had quite a bit of leftovers, and Jewel offered us takeout boxes and bags for each of us.We all enjoyed our meals, and both of my co-workers agreed I made a good choice for dinner that night. None of us had room for dessert, but I didn't want any anyways. Plus, the prices for the desserts weren't even shown on the menu, which I'm not sure why? A Southern Peach Cobbler would have hit the spot, but our appetites were more than satiated on this wonderful evening. In addition to the actual restaurant, there's a meat market as alluded to in the business name, but it was slim pickings at the time we went, at least for the display case out in front. Same with the desserts. We only saw a couple of pies and a cheesecake when we left. The interior decor is really nice! We appreciated how nicely decorated the interior was, and we were even in awe at a portrait of the restaurant from 1953!Thank you Barn Door for a wonderful dinner, and thank you Jewel for the wonderful service and hospitality! Keep up the great work Jewel! :)

Amazing. So so good. Like how are nachos this good? I'm still in shock a week later. The enchiladas my husband loved and my daughter said the fish tacos were great!

Perfect place to eat for our girls getaway. It's onsite at the resort we stayed making it convenient. The food was delicious with little wait time. They were spot on for service! Reservations encouraged for dinner.

The onion rings at this place rock!! They bring out a huge plate! There were 3 people in our party and we had a hard time finishing them all! By the time we got our entrees, we could barely finish them. THis place has been around since I was a youngster (I'm nearing retirement - for perspective), in the same location, in the same "old house" building with wooden floors and old-timey memorabilia decorating hanging from the walls and ceiling. Someday when I'm back in San Antonio and feeling famished, I'd love to return and try more of their menu offerings. What a great place to hang out and enjoy their music, although it tends to be loud and seating is cramped but it's definitely worth visiting!!

I needed to pick something up at H-E-B, also at Lincoln Heights, and I was trying to decide where to go for dinner after that. Stone Werks was in the same plaza albeit tucked in the very corner of the plaza. The plaza is kind of large, and the way it's set up, it would have been a pretty long walk back to my rental car from the restaurant. As a result, I decided to drive over to the front of the restaurant where I pulled into a spot right in front of the front door! Perhaps a sign of good things to come? After I stepped inside, I saw Ally finish serving a customer at the front desk, and she greeted me with a smile. I asked for a takeout menu, and she handed me one for me to peruse. I sat at a comfortable bench nearby to study the menu.Pizza, seafood, steak, pasta...so many choices! What to get?!The previous night, I had a pretty fancy ribeye steak from a high-end steakhouse, so I definitely wasn't getting a ribeye again. But maybe the Rotisserie Prime Rib would do the trick?!There was a caveat, however, if you choose the Prime Rib. It's only served Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays after 5 PM. It was actually 7 PM on a Thursday, so I figured why not make the most of it and go with the Prime Rib?! I also decided to get some Roasted Salsa & Chips, thinking they could be a good supplement to the Prime Rib.I returned to the front desk, but nobody was there. Another employee, possibly a manager, came to take my order. I asked her how long the wait would be, and she estimated 15 minutes. The receipt said Ally's name, so I thought her name was Ally, but I later found out Ally was actuALLY (see what I did there?) the hostess who first greeted me. Don't you love it when the server's name is different than the one who actually rang you up? lolAlly was a pretty good hostess from what I saw, and I can attest to her professional demeanor whether it was welcoming a first-timer like yours truly with a smile or hugging a regular customer that she's known for a while. It's a pretty good spot to hang out after a long day of work and watch some sports over a nice meal and maybe a glass of wine. After about 16 minutes, she noticed I was still sitting on the bench and took the initiative to check on my order. A couple minutes later, she handed me my takeout bag and wished me a good day. I was quite impressed with how she conducted herself during my short stay that I actually forgot to pick up a mint at the front desk. Oops? lolMy takeout bag consisted of two paper bags and a large takeout box. The takeout box consisted of the prime rib with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The vegetables didn't have much flavor, and the mashed potatoes didn't even come with gravy. However, the prime rib was pretty good. Not as good as the ribeye I had the previous night, but since my hotel was a little far, I'm willing to cut some slack here. However, some gravy would have been nice, and I'm not actually sure what made the prime rib rotisserie? Didn't really stand out, but it was still a good cut of beef! For the Roasted Salsa and Chips, I think they actually gave me Queso and Chips instead because I was expecting a tomato salsa of the likes of Chipotle, but what I got was a creamy queso dip. Either that was a mistake made unintentionally or they ran out of salsa and upgraded to queso at no additional charge. Whatever the reason, I'm glad I got to try their queso, even though it did leave me feeling pretty full after eating all that. They gave me a really generous amount of queso, much more than what Chipotle would have given. It was also good, but didn't have the strong flavor that I desire from anything with queso in it.While it wasn't the best meal I've had in San Antonio, I was satisfied with my Prime Rib meal with Queso & Chips. I would certainly recommend Stone Werks to all who live in San Antonio. Also, keep up the great work Ally! :)

"Unfortunately, No Vegetarian burgers! Fries and Malts are great. They need a good veggie burger, not a plant based mush mash. A good plain veggie burger would be so great!"
"The New (and much improved) Frontier Club is a great getaway during the hectic days of the Livestock Show. During the day time, it's nice to have a full restaurant to go eat a meal at, as they are open to the public until 2pm. Everything from prime rib to chocolate pie is available in the restaurant, but if it is full, you can go grab a margarita in the bar and some good appetizers (chips and queso, boneless wings, jalapeno poppers, etc). During the evening hours, you will need a membership, or a friend with a membership to get in. This is where THE after party is at! Live bands, dancing, and a whole lot of people in their finest rodeo duds letting loose and getting down."
"My pharmacy school friends and I enjoy going to Sideliners to play volleyball and relax after exams. It's turned into a weekly tradition for us. Some of us get in on the game, while others hang out, chat, and order some food. It's just $5 per person to play. The courts are always clean, and the atmosphere is really welcoming. I definitely recommend checking it out!"
"We visited Stone Terrace on a whim, leaving us incredibly full and satisfied. Pros:- Easily available reservations- Friendly and attentive staff, including chefs and the owner, who checked on us during our meal- Diverse and creative drink menu catering to various tastes- Options for both outdoor covered seating and a pleasant indoor environment- Varied meal choices ranging from French to Italian even the UK, all of which were well balanced and delicious - Enjoyable music selection of 90s hits, adding to the lively atmosphere- Generous platters offering a substantial amount of delicious food, perfect for sharing between a coupleCons:- Slightly secluded location off the main path- The only minor critique would be slight variations in the cooking level of calamari due to size, though still enjoyable with the accompanying specialty sauceStone Terrace will be my go-to spot. I plan to frequent this amazing restaurant, especially for special occasions when I need to unwind with friends and family."
"Small local restaurant. Food was great! Restaurant was clean. Staff wasn't the friendliest or super attentive. Other than that experience was good."
"We headed to @thebranchsbtx for dinner tonight. It's a popular spot with many people there for dinner too.Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had a Frozen Margarita, and I had the Margarita called White Lightning. We tried the Coconut Shrimp with shoestring fries and it's fabulous. Loved the marmalade sauce! Hubby had a salad with his Catfish/Shrimp Combo. Dad and I shared the Full Rack of Ribs with mashed potatoes and sweet potato wedges. Definitely more food than we could finish."
"Stone Werks is a must stop for our family every time we are in San Antonio!!!Give this place a shot you won't regret it!"
"This nice bar/lounge is located at the back of the lobby level of the Marriott Riverwalk Hotel. Great location: literally steps away from the Riverwalk, and 1 block away from the river entrance to the Riverwalk mall. Our party of 6 stopped in for mid afternoon snacks Thanksgiving day. It was slow, and there was a good mix of seating options and many HDTVs for us to watch the Dallas Cowboys crash and burn.We all ordered beers or drinks. Their Honeydew Martini packed a nice punch, so I had two at their discounted price of $8.00 each. The Texas Trio app came with a decent amount of chips, along with 2 freshly made red sauces and some queso. Decent food. Our waiter Christian took great care of us. Service was 5 stars. If they actually would have had a "Happy Hour" with a HH menu, this place would be 5 stars. All in all a nice quiet lounge where one or many can relax, talk, or catch a game on TV in. It's a little more condusive to conversations and social gatherings than the massive Grand Hyatt next door, and with 10x the customer service than the Hyatt. Check it out."
"Great southern cooking. The cornbread comes with most meals and is to die for. At some point I need to try the waffles!"
"The venue, service, and food are excellent. Great ambiance and the prices were not outrageous."
"Great food, PHENOMENAL service. Julie was the best!!! Our table of 15 enjoyed dinner and were delighted by the wonderful customer service we received. We'll absolutely return based off Julie's service alone!"
"So this was our second time there we went back because the first time it was so good and the second time didn't disappoint either the food is so good and it's not crazy expensive like some of these bougie Mexican restaurants the atmospheres is the same and the food is delicious. I can't stop saying that And then I wanna talk about our server. He is the sweetest man so kind so compassionate. His name is Alejandro so if you go over there, I would definitely sit in his section. He's the best and he remembers you because he cares and I would go back to see him, even if the food wasn't that great because he makes you feel like family"
"Perfect spot for a date day. The food is fantastic and the service is exceptional. I would eat here everyday if I could."
"We had the Buffalo wrap and Cobb salad. We both were pleased with our choices. Prepared to order and very popular at lunch. So many healthy options. Very friendly staff. Great outdoor seating area."
"Top three best burgers in town and great local atmosphere. One of my happy places in SA."
"Not the best breakfast place. I've been here a couple times and food is always sub-par. Nothing crazy, cups and utensils were dirty. Management and workers were overwhelmed. I would definitely go to Comfort Cafe next time!"
"Tasty, and I am a fan. They cook it fresh when you order so for the large fried dough--about the size of a personal pizza--you'll be waiting maybe ten minutes. So worth it today, it tasted fresh and not greasy. They even threw in a free cheese crepe while I waited, which was delicious.Generous. The hash browns are the size of a salad plate, got lots of cheese and crispy bacon my second try. They're lovely! I couldn't finish mine, you can easily split the hash browns or fried dough, honestly. There aren't tables immediately nearby, but the raised wall is the right height for seating if you're staying a while.Lots of vegetarian options on the menu, which I love. The cooking time means mall employees will probably be better off getting this before or after their shifts, but I hope they take this place into their hearts and let this truck stay a while. I think they're going to be an amazing hot treat when the weather turns cold again.****update 8 oct 19 my vegetarian coworker tried the vegan fried dough/langos and loved it. We couldn'tquite nail down the toppings--cabbage/onion but there's something else savory in there. Not as piquant as sauerkraut.****update 14 oct 19 think my first hash browns were stacked in a small paper side plate and slowly glued themselves together. My second try was much lighter and crispier. Generous toppings both times."
"A casual, clean and friendly spot with very well seasoned food. We tried a large variety off the menu. The chicken was absolutely delicious. Made to order, large pieces, crispy, juicy and so much flavor! We cleaned every piece until there was nothing left. Cabbage is a must try but you won't be disappointed in the greens, yams or Mac either. I don't like cornbread however, this was fluffy, moist and extra sweet. Portions are huge, especially on the meatloaf. Price is very reasonable for the Alamo ranch area. My only negative would be the waffles were spongy - more like a pancake. Needed to be on the iron a little longer. We had pecan and strawberry both worth the $1.00 upgrade. Expect a longer wait when ordering chicken because of cook time."
"While there is noting left at the Wonderland mall, Rico's is there. I was hungry after the movie, so I gave them a try. I ordered the 'Burger from Hell'. A nice sized burger with jack cheese and plenty of peppers and jalapeños. Also lettuce and tomato. Fries included in the price. Not a bad deal. The burger was really good, although a bit messy to eat. I kept having to reorganize the bun and its contents. The fries were extremely good. Crinkle cut, seasoned and crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. Just right. Give them a try."
"This is our family's favorite ToGo place in SA. There pizzas and wings great for kiddos but the real star are their gyros sandwich !Best in SA gyro meat - tender, thick and incredibly well seasoned !Their chicken shawarma is also incredible on their signature pizza or salads ! It is fresh, juicy and flavorful. You just can't go wrong with Pizza Break !"
"M.K. Davis is a staple dinner spot that never disappoints. Service is always good here, quick to get orders out as well. The crispy dogs and bean and cheese nachos are both great standout starters. The chicken fried chicken was impressive, and their fish plates are always satisfying. The music selection is consistently great and one can always rely on enjoying a cold beer or sangria in their ice-cold schooner mugs.Give them a try"
"Upon arriving, I was kindly greeted by the owner. They had some good music playing. I loved the variety of the menu and how clean the restaurant was, especially the tables. The owner provided excellent service and was attentive. It seems like they are very connected and supportive of the community, which is truly awesome.I had the original Chicago hot dog and a wing + catfish combo. The food was well seasoned and prepared. All of the meats were well cooked and delicious and the fries were okay.I will definitely be returning!"
"A sandwich place that gets 5 star review? Absolutely, the Ultimate could be my all time favorite sandwich. And the staff is really friendly and helpful too."
